Grimrose
Shadowclan Warrior
The black and gray oriental molly was quietly watching the clearing, her gaze searching for a familiar small black molly. It had been a couple of days since Hollypaw was assigned to Grimrose as mentor and apprentice. If the molly was honest, she was incredibly nervous to already have an apprentice as Grimrose had joined Shadowclan not so long ago with Murkywolf. It seemed like her brother was currently occupied as she spotted her younger brother speaking with Cloudedmoon. Grimrose’s striking violet eye landed on Hollypaw and quickly got up and bounded towards her “Oh, hey Hollypaw!” Grimrose said, her tail waving back and forth in greetings when finally catching up with the black molly. She could sense that Hollypaw looked hesitant around Grimrose, possibly because this was a new and unexpected thing for them both.
“Did you know that Acorns don’t grow on Oak Trees until they’re 50 years old?” Grimrose questioned, wanting to give Hollypaw a fact for the day. It was the black and gray molly’s way of an ice breaker since it usually striked a conversation. It helped a lot for Grimrose to be an observer back in her days as a city cat, her brother would always listen.. But that was because Grimrose made him listen to it otherwise she would pout at him until Murkywolf would give in. Beckoning her head towards the entrance of the camp, an awkward smile formed on her lips “Let’s um.. Go explore the territory, it will do us both good.” The molly said before quickly making her way out of the camp, ignoring the strange looks that others were given due to her appearance.
Feeling the snow lightly hit her chest, Grimrose’s fur fluffed up slightly as she was trying to figure out the correct words to say. Stars, Mercuryrose made things look easy with adjusting into clan life but it’s been over a year since Mercuryrose joined the clans.. The deputy had adjusted and made a life here while it was still foreign to Grimrose. Hollypaw was on Grimrose’s blind side, but she could tell that her apprentice was around but her scent. Turning to look at the small black molly, a small smile appeared on her face “Um.. What has your former mentor taught you?” She questioned, wanting to know everything that Hollypaw’s mentor had taught her so Grimrose wouldn’t repeat it.. It would be quite boring to learn things twice.

Hollypaw Shadowclan apprentice
Padding across the clearing, Hollypaw's eyes fixed on the pine needle coated forest floor as she navigated through the camp, her tail low enough to brush against the dirt. Since Pinerunner had died, her training had been neglected in the gap where she had not had a mentor. It was something that Hollypaw was bitter about- her siblings had died of the same sickness, she was supposed to fill their pawsteps, fill their destiny... and she had let herself slack in her training, and let the fact she had no mentor get in her way. She had just been scolded by her father, Tigerfang, who felt the need to remind her that she had let herself slip.
The young apprentice had been overjoyed when she finally recieved her new mentor, albeit a little disappointed by having a non-Shadowclan-born mentor. However, she was determined to not let that get in front of her, and she wouldn't judge her now-clanmate for her birth. As her mentor bounded over to her, the young cat's ears flicked and she stood upright, her lips curling up in a half-smile, guarded and wary.
"Hello, Grimrose..." She started, before her mentor gave her that nice, fun fact."Huh...I didn't know that, actually." Perhaps it was because they didn't have many of those trees in Shadowclan, and their territory was mostly marshy with pine trees. As her mentor gestured toward the exit of the camp, Hollypaw followed, her ears alert for the sounds around them. A flake of snow landed on her nose, and the apprentice sneezed. "Uh...Pinerunner didn't get far into my training..." She admitted, "Just some basic fighting moves...some hunting..." Her gaze turned to the floor once more. "Really not much before he died." She had been without a mentor for almost a moon, as the death of her siblings and her mentor had made her unable to train.
