Kugyay was founded in April 2007 by a small group of friends. With the help of its original owners, Kugyay became ever-popular through services like Xat and Freewebs which most of the original members frequented. The site remained popular for most of the 2010s, and even included additions to the Kugyay brand with Neko Kugyay and Wolf Kugyay. Slowly but surely the little community that could, grew to a total member-base of over 10,000 members! 

After a few years hiatus, the community was reunited via Discord by long-time members and then owners James and Butterfly in April 2019 as a reunion for old Kugay members. When interest sparked again for roleplay, the first version of Kugyay's forums based website was formed! Unfortunately, not many websites are very role-play community friendly, and since then we have had to move websites twice before finding our home with Wix.

Now owned by Tori, they and their staff manage Kugyay through both the website and discord, creating events, roleplaying plots, and making the community a fun and safe place for everyone.
