The Clan of Rivers and Reeds
RiverClan has made their home to the northwest of all the land the Clans occupy. A river diverges in a fork, running two separate paths through the heart of their territory. Willows and birches litter the land, while reeds dominate the riverbanks. The edge of their territory, by the ocean, is largely cliffs.

With the unexpected departure of Snowstar, Riverclan has found itself in rough waters. Her leaving the clan has left many feeling lost and out of place, including Coppercloud who only recently became deputy scarcely five moons ago. Coppercloud was never fully certain of his deputy position, but he accepted in part due to his love of his clan and wanting to make up for his past mistake of leaving. He wished to reaffirm his loyalty to Riverclan and provide for them in a meaningful way that would allow them to trust him again. However, he believed that he had more time to adjust to his position and would be ready for Leadership by the time Snowstar’s reign was over. Now coming face to face with Leadership, Coppercloud is even less certain than he was before, but maintains an outward appearance of calm collectiveness. It is now time for Coppercloud to make his journey to gain his nine lives and he hopes Starclan can guide him through his doubts and he will be the Leader his clan needs. Coppercloud must now take a blind leap of faith and trust in the stars above him that everyone’s faith in him isn’t misplaced.

Upon arriving to their new territory, Trailingstar is leader, Slatewhisker is deputy, and Mallowleaf is medicine cat. The Clan's new camp was found when Mallowleaf wandered away from the temporary one, much to Slatewhisker's irritation.
2008
Though he is still pretty young, due to Trailingstar's urgings, Mallowleaf takes Lightpaw on as his apprentice.
Mar '09
The redcough pandemic strikes RiverClan. Unfortunately, it claims Lightpaw's life.
Jun '09
Trailingstar is soon claimed by the redcough as well. Slatewhisker becomes Slatestar, naming Nightfall as his deputy. Needing the help and realizing he could pass before he knows it as well, Mallowleaf takes on another apprentice, Moonpaw.
2010
Redcough continues to ravage the Clan, claiming Mallowleaf's life. His dying breaths are giving Moonpaw her full name, Moonwatcher. The Clan will suffer yet another loss, Nightfall losing his life in a scuffle with ShadowClan over prey and territory. Frostwhisker is named the next deputy.
2011
Moonwatcher takes on Spottedpaw as her apprentice.
2012
Spottedpaw proves herself to be an adept medicine cat and has no problem earning her full name, Spottedfish, towards the end of the year.
2014
Frostwhisker retires early due to complications from a battle wound that never healed properly, leaving Slatestar to appoint Rainsong as deputy. Moonwatcher dies due to a particularly infected wound, and Spottedfish is quick to take on Ashpaw as her apprentice.
2015
Spottedfish retires to the nursery after giving Ashpaw their full name, Ashfeather.
Jan '16
Slatestar passes due to old age, allowing Rainsong to become Rainstar and appoint Aspenleaf as deputy. Later, Ashfeather takes on Greypaw as their apprentice.
2019
Both Ashfeather and Graypaw were lost to the Clan while collecting herbs, leaving Fishtail to become the medicine cat after receiving a sign from StarClan. Aspenleaf gets caught in an accident in the rapids and is unable to be saved. Wisteriaflower is appointed the new deputy.
Nov '19
With rising water levels due to a hurricane brewing on the coast, Rainstar loses their life attempting to save some kits from drowning. Wisteriaflower is named Wisteriastar, but Fishtail drowns outside the Mooncave at that same time. Heronflight is named as deputy.
Dec '19
Wisteriastar is forced to split her Clan and take her half to ShadowClan territory while Heronflight remains behind with the other half in ThunderClan. While sheltering with ShadowClan and SkyClan, Hickoryroot leaves SkyClan to become RiverClan's new medicine cat.
Jan '20
Flood waters finally recede enough for RiverClan to return home, though they're accompanied by ShadowClan, who's tunnel camp had been destroyed. The two Clans live as one for a moon, before Wisteriastar accompanies a patrol to ShadowClan territory finally successful in finding the other Clan a new camp.
Mar '20
Heronflight finds a pile of fishbones with Kass' scent, prompting Wisteriastar to take a patrol to talk to Hollystar. The talk ends in a fight, however, resulting in the death of Brightstream, a RiverClan warrior, and Antlercreek. Hickoryroot passes in his sleep, and Rainysky is named medicine cat.
Apr '20
Wisteriastar seeks an alliance with ShadowClan, SkyClan later joining them. She also eventually learns of her son, Pantherstorm, attempting to kill the deputy. After a tense Gathering, Wolfstar attempts to speak to her about her son. Overcome by emotion she turns him away, and he declares war.
May '20
Tensions finally come to blows when RiverClan, ShadowClan, and SkyClan attempt to kill Wolfstar on a dawn patrol. A battle commences between all five Clans, only stopped when Wisteriastar calls a halt to the battle upon learning of Pantherstorm's death.
Aug '20
After two moons of peace, Heronflight passes. Wisteriastar hesitantly appoints Darktorrent as the new deputy, shaken by the loss of her previous one.
Dec '20
A RiverClan warrior learned of the romance between Wisteriastar and Hornetstar, using this information to prompt her into leaving the Clans alongside her mate. Darktorrent becomes Darkstar, appointing Goldenswan as his deputy.
Jan '21
Rainysky takes on an apprentice by the name of Cherrypaw.
At the medicine cat meeting, Cherrypaw gets a vision of black liquid consuming her. She reports this vision to her mentor, Rainysky.

Mar '21
Darkstar, Rainysky, and Cherrypaw investigate the mooncave at the Gathering. Upon coming into contact with the tainted liquid, Cherrypaw became comatose.
As the oil spreads, cats begin to fall ill. Many RiverClan cats get sick and some lose their lives.

Goldenswan retires and Stormhowl is promoted to deputy in her place.
Snowfeather receives a vision from Mallowleaf, a tom who lived decades before her. She is told to visit the Ghostly Flats to meet with cats from the other clans.

Cherrypaw and Wasppaw work together to return the spirits of comatose cats to their bodies, thanks to the help of Mallowleaf, who taught the RiverClan apprentice an ancient prayer.
Sep '21
Snowfeather leaves on a journey with Wasppaw, Frostburn, Amberpaw and Orion to retrieve the herb that is said to absorb the oil.
Oct '21
After Rainysky bestows Cherryblossom her full title as a medicine cat, she is called away to the mountains by dreams of the cats that live there.
Snowfeather returns from her journey just in time to find out that Stormhowl has been denounced from his rank when his affair with a ShadowClan queen is made public. Much to her surprise, Darkstar names her his new deputy.

Worn down by moons of a rough leadership, Darkstar steps down, taking back the name Darktorrent. In his place, Snowfeather steps up as Snowstar. Coppercloud is named deputy. Additionally, Rainysky takes on a new apprentice by the name Venompaw.
Aug '22
Lavendermoon is named deputy.
Jan '23
Lavendermoon retires due to an old injury and Spottedkoi is made deputy in her place.
Snowstar goes missing and Coppercloud steps up to leadership, assuming the name Copperstar.

RiverClan is driven out of their home by ShadowClan and ThunderClan.
