The cold Leafbare air disturbed Sprigpaw from her slumber, her nose wrinkling as she let her eyes slowly stretch open. She was starting to get used to sleeping in the apprentice's den, and it helped to still have Sunpaw by her side. When she was a kit, for some reason Sprigpaw had this irrational fear that her sister was going to become an apprentice before her, and they'd have to be without each other for a little while. Irrational indeed, because here they were snuggled up in their cozy nests, close enough to sleep so they could still feel their pelts pressed together. It was nice, but she missed their mother sometimes--although, the she-cat was pretty much checked out from her role of parenting her daughters. Sprigpaw looked over to her sister, still sleeping peacefully in her nest. She let a purr rumble through her body as she lightly stood up, noticing most of the apprentices still in their nests. She realized it was still quite early, the dawn patrol and hunting party still had yet to go out. It occurred to her that if someone noticed her and Sunpaw awake together at this hour, they might just be selected to go out on the same patrol. She nosed Sunpaw’s shoulder and chirped quietly near her ear.
“Sunpaw?” She mewed in a low voice so as to not wake any other apprentices.
Sunpaw was curled up as tightly as she could be, pressing herself against her sister as a defense between the early leafbare air. When movement and sudden loss of warmth disturbed her perfectly content slumber, Sunpaw let out a quiet whine and tried to curl up even more. At the sound of her sister's voice calling her name, Sunpaw paused for a moment. Considering her options, the apprentice knew it would be difficult to persuade Sprigpaw to sleep more now that she was already up. Moreso, it would be difficult for Sprigpaw to sit still until Sunpaw was awake as well. After a moment, Sunpaw pushed herself out of her nest and delicately stretched her muscles, careful as to not disturb the nests beside them. Carefully, she led Sprigpaw outside the den before sitting down and letting out a big yawn. Through her yawn, Sunpaw managed to saw, "Do we have to be up this early? I don't even think the dawn patrol is up yet."
