Being outside of camp grounds with her newly assigned mentor, Granitemask, was exciting for sure. Cosmopaw probably would have been a lot more excited to see these surroundings if it had been her first time out in SkyClan territory, but it wasn't. With her father being Clan leader, she had been spoiled a bit by familial privilege. Firestar had brought her and her siblings out of camp before to sneak them in some experience and knowledge. Perhaps he wanted to impress them as "the cool dad" or he just wanted his kits to have fun or to succeed above other apprentices, she didn't know for sure. At her own credence, Cosmopaw believed that he just wanted to show his kits a good time.
The same couldn't be said for her friend, Cranepaw, though. The small tom was a sickly thing. He had been confined to the nursery for almost his entire kithood, for he wasn't well enough to play outside as often or as long as his siblings. She felt bad for him. Surely he wanted to have fun like every other young cat, right? Yet, he was left alone in his own nest most of the time while his littermates went and lived their lives. Because of this, Cosmopaw had taken time to visit him every so often to keep him company. It wasn't fair for him to be lonely just because he had a sensitivity of sorts with his body- that's how she felt.
Even now, the tortie hung back as their mentors lead the way to stay by Cranepaw's side. "How are you holding up? Do we need to take a break?" she questioned, her voice soft and genuine as she glanced down at him. Sometimes she cursed her main coon genetics. She felt a little imposing sometimes just because of her large body and as she matured, so did her frame. She hoped that her newfound height didn't intimidate her friend.
