Peachblossom

“Hold still Applekit.” Peachblossoms voice has always been soft, not has she ever raised it at her kittens, but there was an under lying tone that still made the creamy molly come off as strict. She found it useful for controlling her clutter of kittens when they got overwhelming. Thankfully her older litter of kittens were close to being apprentices and would soon be another warriors problem. Her small mini me currently sitting restlessly in her paws as she attempted to clean the smaller peachy cream she kit, she had clearly been spending too much time with her rough housing brothers Honeykit and Badgerkit. “Alright Applekit, all clean my sweet one.” The small kitten jumping from her mothers paws, and almost as if clock work Applekit was back with her siblings playing Follow the Leader, or what was meant to be that but turned into another fight between Applekit and Opalkit on who got to be leader. Sometimes it bother Peachblossom that Applekit was so much like herself, but at least she knew the she cat would never get pushed around. “Oh Chant, why do I even both anymore. I clean them then the next moment they are dirty again.” Peachblossom found herself spending more and more time with the queen, making sure she got to be there for the birth of Hawkbites second litter since they so rudely had the kites outside of Thunderclan the first time. Peachblossom wouldn’t fathom why they had decided to have a second litter, with how hectic things had been with her first the healer swore never to have kittens again. But the Hawkbite and Chantellefrost were wonderful parents and great friends, offering to watch her kits so she could take a break. Offering them a quick thank you and good bye before departing.
After Hazelpaw received her warrior name Peachblossom really thought Snarlingbadger and her would go back to how things were prior, but just as quickly as he got rid of one apprentice he was assigned another one. She couldn’t blame Gravelstar for assigning him another apprentice, he was the best mentor in the clan after all, but sometime she wished she could just spend some time with the two of them, no kits, no apprentices, not another soul but theirs. Peachblossom tried to wait patiently for her mate to return from his training session, but the more time had passed the more discouraged the molly became. It was his new apprentice first time out so surely he was taking his time letting the young cat explore but it was late now and she missed him. Gathering up a small piece of honeycomb, knowing after being out for so long he would need it, the healer checked in with Figpaw to inform the tom she’d be home late before trotting out of the camp, a small happy him escaping her muzzle.
Finding Cinderpaw and Snarlingbadger was a simple task, her mate always liked to end training sessions with his apprentices in small sparring sessions. Not wanting to interrupt, Peachblossom settled back out of sight, she knew Snarlingbadger would pick up on her scent pretty quickly but the younger apprentice more than likely would not and she didn’t want to make her nervous by knowing there was someone watching. Peachblossom loved watching her mate train, seeing his body move in ways her never could. Even when he wasn’t training you could see his muscle under his fur but when he was working they were even more obvious, Peachblossom often caught herself drooling when watching him. She really did get lucky with the best tom as a mate.
As their training wrapped up Peachblossom made her presence known, directing the apprentice to use her tracking skills to following Peachblossoms scent back to camp. Once the apprentice was out of sight, she turned her attention to the oversized black and white tom cat, why did she find him even more attractive when he was tired from training all day, pushing the honeycomb towards her mate to soothe his ever aching vocal cords. “Hey there hot stuff” Peachblossom buried her nose into the tom cats chest, taking in all of his scent. She adored everything about him. Soon it wasn’t just her nose but her whole small frame pressed into his, there was not even a centimeter of space between the two, just how she liked it. Sitting there engulfed in her mate completely made the molly realize just how lonely she had felt recently. It wasn’t that Snarlingbadger didn’t give her attention, but with three litters of kittens, both of them training apprentices, and Peachblossom very demanding job, it was a struggle to find time for the two of them to be just together and be mates. “Can we just stay like this for a little bit?” She tried her best to mask the idea that she had been sobbing gently into his chest, not that she would ever be able to get away with it, she was sure he could feel the cold tears decorating his chest by this point. She didn’t even know when she had started crying, or even why she was but it felt good.

Snarlingbader didn’t like that his mate was crying into his chest, lifting one of his massive forelegs to wrap around her small back, leaning down to gently drape his tongue across her ears. What had he done to upset her so? He frowned as she seemed to be trying to plaster herself against his chest and stomach, grunting down at her to try and get her attention. But she wasn’t listening to him, instead she was leaning up on her hindlegs to press against his shoulder blades. He wasn’t budging by her nudged but he could see what she wanted, she wanted him to lie down? Arching a brow, the tomcat looked down at the ground for a moment before back at his little mate. Her lonely expression made his heart hurt, grunting with a nod as he moved to where he was now laying on his side, pale yellow eyes watching his little lady. Immediately, Peachblossom curled against his chest, moving his paws to wrap around her body as she pressed soft kisses against his muzzle and jawline. This prompted him to purr, it had been such a long while since they had expressed any sort of affection with one another. Her soft meow made him frown, letting his chin tilt down as he pressed his pink nose onto the top of her forehead, breathing in her scent. She missed him, he missed her. Sighing, he closed his eyes and just enjoyed the warmth of his mate curling up against his chest. Since the arrival of their very large family, he had been focusing a lot of his time with their growing family, teaching their kittens manners and the rights and wrongs before they were assigned to warriors.
But in the midst of all that, he had failed to see that his mate was lonely and needing her time with Snarls. Which was equally as important if not more. Her small paws were kneading gently against the white fur of his chest, his scarred skin tingling beneath her small toes. Ears perking up slightly when she began to speak, his pale eyes warm and tender. She was anxious, which he couldn’t seem to understand as she begged for some attention. Something she shouldn’t have to do. Her small peck to his chest made him purr as he leaned his face down to press his muzzle against hers, rubbing them together as he pulled her closer. He didn’t mind that she had gained some weight, she was still the most beautiful Molly he had ever seen. Although right now, she wasn’t feeling beautiful. Using a paw, he lifted her chin in order to press their lips lightly together, before he started to kiss her tears away. Forcing himself to clear his throat, wincing slightly before he slowly grunted. “I no leave. I do better.” His voice was breaking, large paw lightly rubbing her side, toes tangling in her fluffy peach colored fur. “Sorry, Peach. I love you.” He meowed gruffly, draping his tongue over her forehead and humming. Snarlingbadgers greatly loved his little mate, this was his fault for focusing so hard on their kittens. “No leave. I’m sorry.” He meowed, his throat sore but he pressed his lips against her forehead. She had to know he would never leave her, that wasn’t the life he wanted to live.
