Duskwood
Skyclan Warrior
A snort escaped the dark tabby’s face when looking at the gray tom beside him as the two toms were making their way through the forest. Bayleaf was quite the character, if Duskwood would put it nicely. The poor tom got stung by bees and had to stay with Speckledmoss in the den for who knows how long.. But it seems like Firestar had put him on babysitting duties in case Bayleaf decided to somehow get into some odd situations again. “Just so you know, if you happen to piss off some bees again, I won’t be helping you: You’re on your own.” Duskwood grumbled, his tail lashing from side to side and shook his head “What in Starclan did you do anyways? Smack the nest with a stick?” He asked, narrowing his eyes at the tom. Bayleaf and Duskwood had known each other since they were kits in the nursery, but the two were complete opposites of each other.. While Bayleaf seemed more on the nervous side, Duskwood was more grumpy and anti-social.
But it still surprised Duskwood that Bayleaf wanted to hang out with him, he was sure that the gray tom would’ve wet himself when asking Duskwood to go on a stroll with him today. It was peaceful so far, but something was bound to happen. It appeared wherever Bayleaf went, some kind of thing happened. Whenever it was a pregnant queen becoming cranky towards him, or a bee hive after him.. Duskwood couldn’t help but think, his friend was quite the life of the party. Letting out a mere sigh when feeling the snow underneath his paws, he wished that leaf-bare was over alright, he hated it.
“Alright Bayleaf, I’m assuming we aren’t here to build a snow-cat.. So what do you wanna do? Climb trees? Hunt?” Duskwood said, looking at the smaller tom with narrowed gray eyes. It wasn’t until his ears flicked for a moment at hearing a noise, and turned towards the direction of it “I hear something..” He muttered to the other tom, but instead of waiting to see what his friend wanted to do.. Duskwood soon bounded off towards the direction of it, curious about the noise and what it belonged to. Bayleaf was free to follow him, but Duskwood was expecting the gray tom to sit this one out as he didn’t seem the type to jump into danger head on like Duskwood does. It wasn’t until he heard his friend calling after him and pawsteps in the distance, was Bayleaf following him?
Bayleaf - Skyclan Deputy
"I'm not going to go after bees again... I learned my lesson and won't be chasing after my cravings." Bayleaf groaned softly. It was embarrassing to be reminded of his little mistake.
Even with Duskwood's teasing, Bayleaf was happy to be with his friend. Life seemed to be so busy recently that having just a small moment with him gave him time to breathe. They had been friends since Bay could remember! It may have been embarrassing to be teased, but at least it was by Dusk. The tom-cat huffed at his friend's comment and turned his nose. His tail twitching in irritation.
"I did not wack it with a stick! I may have been silly to attempt messing with the bee hive, but I most certainly did not smack it. I... I slipped from the branch and jumped on it. It was an accident!" Bayleaf yelped and shook his head in shame. "Why must you remind me?"
His ears perked up at the mention of a snow-cat. His green eyes drifted from his friend and to the layer of snow that laid beneath his paws. He wiggled his toes and smiled. The cold could be bothersome, but he never found himself to hate it. In fact, Bayleaf liked the colder weather! The heat seemed to annoy Bay more than any colder weather. At least with the cold he could curl away from the snow in the den. Heat is harder to escape from.
"I'm not sure honestly! I personally just needed to get away and we haven't hung out in so long- what are you doing?" He deadpanned as Duskwood raced away.
Bayleaf stood still for a moment. His ears lowered and his tail drooping. It would be easier to wait back and see what Duskwood found, but a piece of him urged him to follow. Before he fully understood what happened, Bayleaf found himself chasing after the other tom. His paws dug into the snow and kicked it up in the air with every powerful step. His ears were still pressed firming against his head.
"Duskwood! Wait for me! You can't just leave me all the time!" Bayleaf shouted.
