Personality: Soulpaw is a reserved but bright young apprentice who is eager to learn the ways of the warrior code. She takes much of her personality from her adoptive mother Tenderpine. She is fairly quiet among her peers but eager to talk to any clan member with more experience than her. While she is introverted, she is not antisocial. She interacts with her fellow kits/young apprentices occasionally and has a sense of humor and a sharp wit. She gets frustrated with herself when she can’t get something right, but this also adds to her tenacity and refusal to give up.
Background: Soulpaw’s origins lie outside of Shadowclan, but that’s about all that she knows. Her mother abandoned her near the Shadowclan camp mere days after Soulpaw’s eyes and ears had opened up, on the night of the new moon. The young she-cat who birthed Soulpaw was an ex-kittypet who became a rogue, and the father was nowhere to be found. Her mother had heard of the unity of the clans and hoped for safety and security for her child, so Soul was left to be found by the clan members. They were quick to take her in, abiding by the warrior code that no kit shall be neglected. Soulpaw has little to no memory of her birthmother but has formed a strong mother-daughter bond with Tenderpine, a young warrior who had recently lost her kits. Soulpaw refers to her as her mother and Tenderpine sees Soulpaw as nothing less than her own daughter. Soulpaw tries not to think about her outsider origins, though. She considers herself a full-blooded member of Shadowclan.
