His dark green gaze was watching Stormykit, eyes narrowed as he was watching his son padding around the nursery. Edge could tell that his son was attempting something no good, but the large Maine Coon couldn’t figure out what was going through his son’s mind. Out of this second litter, Stormykit was the one that kept Edge on his toes.. Not that he minded, as Stormykit brought the tom some entertainment with his little antics when he started messing with the elders. Snowstar seemed to let their son get away with a lot too, or turned a blind eye. Letting out a small snort as he couldn’t help but think about that, their sons were Snowstar’s angels, they could do nothing wrong.
“Alright, we’re heading into the clearing.. I’m getting tired of you stalking around like a little badger.” Edge said, getting up and flicking his tail to signal for his son that they were heading outside. Maybe some fresh air will do Stormykit some good.. Looking over, Edge saw that his first and second litter were sleeping soundly in their huge nest. It has been quite a journey for Snowstar and Edge in raising their two litters that were moons apart, but Ede enjoyed every second of being a father to his boys.
Letting out a small sigh as he noticed that Stormykit was out of the den first, Edge followed him. His eyes squinted slightly in the sunlight and he grunted a bit. Damn Sunlight. Around him, cats were repairing the dens and moving debris away from the avalanche. His mate was making sure that everything had ran smoothly, Edge was on the early morning crew in making repairs to the dens. It would take time, but everything was slowly coming together. Turning to look at Stormykit, he looked around “Alright Stormy, what’s our plan?” He questioned his son. Of course he knew Stormkit had something in mind, he might as well join in and see what the little goonie was thinking in his little evil mind. 77ff64

He arched an eyebrow when noticing that Stormykit kept looking back at him when gathering up the mouse bile. The large black and gray tom had merely shrugged. Edge thought part of parenthood was also helping his children developing their own personalities. When he was an apprentice, his adopted mother Swanpath had also let him develop his own personality. Was he troublemaker quickly into his apprenticeship? Yes. Did it delay his warriorship? Sure, but Darktorrent could eat rocks for all he cared. It was almost poetic Justice that Edge managed to have somewhat of a happy ending while Darktorrent was busy moping around these days and looking like a couple of rats stepped on his prey and he was displeased about it.
“Kid, remember this secret remains with us.” Edge said, giving his son a pointed look. He knew that he wouldn’t hear the end of it from Snowstar if she found out her mate also partook in mischievous activities with his son. Although a lot of felines had thought that perhaps being mated to Snowstar would change him, he didn’t see any change in his behavior. But again.. A Tiger couldn’t change his stripes so easily if he wanted to. Unfortunately for everyone, this was who Edge was.. Maybe he just wasn’t meant to change, he was supposed to remain this way forever.
He let out a small shrug and snort, why was he overthinking it anyways? Everyone loved his shining personality.
Watching his small son making his way into the nursery first, Edge moved until he sat nearby. Half of the attention was on Stormykit who was placing the mouse bile carefully into the nest, while another part of him was watching out for anyone that was entering the nursery. A rule of thumb? Always observe your surroundings and don’t admit to your mistakes easily. Once his son announced that he was finished, Edge looked at the nest for a moment before nodding in approval “Good. You easily made sure that the bile was hidden, make sure if you always get the job quickly but effectively.” Edge said, to which he was glad that Stormykit did.
“Rule 1, never admit to your mistakes or ever snitch.. You always gotta make sure that you look after yourself or those you cherish.” Edge said, patting his son on the head with his large paw. He was quite proud of his troublemaker. Getting up, the tom beckoned his head towards the direction of the entrance “Come on, they’ll be back soon.. Act normal, we’ll sit nearby so we can listen to the reactions.” Edge muttered, moving towards the entrance of the nursery and allowed Stormykit to exit first. He would allow his son to pick the spot.
