Many attempts were made throughout the day following the arrival of the river kitten to peek inside the medicine cat's den where both the kitten and her father resided. Every attempt to either enter the den or even just peek inside was thwarted by Venomrose and usually ended in Spiderkit either being grabbed by her scruff and carried a few fox-lengths from the den, or a gentle shove of the paw that had her leaving the vicinity of where she wanted to be.
"But, papa, I promise not to disturb him! I just want to see! Is he better yet? I want to know more about him!" She had cried and fussed many times during her attempts. Being the dutiful medicine cat that he was, Venomrose refused to give into his daughter's sweet voice and desperate pleas - a fact that did frustrate the little molly on more than one occasion. She wanted to be daddy's little girl, to have him wrapped around her little paw. She was basically a mini Venomrose, so why wasn't he wavering in her presence?
After her final attempt, Spiderkit had resigned herself to merely sitting near the nursery and gazing unhappily in the direction of the river kitten's current resting place. Venomrose wouldn't be able to keep her out forever, and she was determined to barge in there one way or another and formally meet the newest RiverClan mystery. Her plan would have to wait, though, as her eyelids grew heavy and she began to doze off. The day had been busy and long, and it wasn't long before gravity pulled her entirely to the ground where she lay sprawled out and in a deep sleep.
The next thing she remembered was the gentle murmurings of her Clanmates preparing for their typical evening chores. Grooming, eating dinner, and settling in the younger nursery members for sleep. She parted her jaws in a tiny yawn and rolled onto her abdomen so that she could stretch out in a sploot-like stretch. Her whiskers twitched and she looked around sleepily before her memory returned to her and she sprang to her paws as if the ground had suddenly became lava. "I forgot!" She squealed sharply.
Spiderkit did a quick once over of her surroundings and then, as quickly and quietly as she could, she followed the edge of the camp until she once again arrived at her papa's den. She sniffed the air cautiously and only poked her head into the entrance when she felt that Venomrose's scent was not as strong as it had been earlier. Just as she suspected, he must have stepped out for at least a moment, which meant that Spiderkit was welcome to waltz right in like she owned the place - and waltz in she did.
She reminded herself to be respectful of the medicine cat's den in case other clan mates were there resting from either sickness or injury. When she finally found the river kitten of mystery, she giggled under her breath with excitement and then settled herself as close to his nest as she could. "Psst. Pssst," she whispered and reached out with a paw to gently boop his nose. "Are you awake? You've been asleep for.. like.. ever!" She hissed softly under her breath.
Despite having fallen asleep within the medicine cat's den, snuggled up close with the strange kit who had discovered his identity, Spiderkit was surprised to find that she was back in the nursery later the next morning when she awoke from a deep slumber. Her amber hues squinted and her nose scrunched in response to her realization. "I guess mama or papa brought me here..?" She mumbled aloud to herself and lowered her upper body down towards the ground so that she could stretch. Once more awake and limber, she trotted somewhat sleepily out of the nursery and into the open where she squinted yet again, though this time it was due to the harshness of the sunlight compared to the dimness of the den she had just been in.
She twitched her nose and settled down with her tail curled around her body then got to work with her morning grooming to make sure she looked at least somewhat presentable. Her tufted ears twitched upright and angled towards the sudden outburst of her name and she looked up to see Torrent racing towards her. "Good morning, Torrent! How are you feeling today?" She beamed brightly at the longhaired tom and quickly got to her paws so that she could lean forwards and give him a good morning greeting in the form of a nose boop.
She giggled with excitement at the news he offered her and her fur puffed out with excitement. "Alright! It's about time! You were in there for forever! I can't wait to show you everything! It'll be confusing at first I bet, but you have lots of time to get used to everything!"
