Edgefrost
Riverclan Warrior
Boredom, that’s what he was experiencing tonight.
With his children asleep within the nursery and apprentice den, Edge was allowed to have the night to himself. Earlier he had considered seeking out Oceanstorm but decided against it, not wanting to deal with females tonight. Stepping out of the warriors den, Edge’s dark green gaze was narrowed slightly. The large Maine Coon was debating if to leave the camp and see if that kittypet that resided within the cave was doing alright, but knew she would most likely chomp his head off after their last encounter. He couldn’t help but roll his eyes as he stepped into the camp, thanking the stars that he only had sons.. Starclan would have probably cursed him with a mini-him if he had a daughter.. That would have been a recipe for disaster if that happened.
It wasn’t until his gaze landed on Honeywisp, he couldn’t help but arch an eyebrow. Ah yes, Darktorrent’s friend. He wondered if Honeywisp was dropped on her head when she was a kit to have such feelings for Darktorrent, but again a lot of felines had the weirdest tastes. Edge made his way towards her, deciding to have some fun. It was amusing how felines would think that felines like Honeywisp weren’t his type. The large Maine Coon had wanted to smack them up the head, as a female should be respected as it didn't matter whatever she looks like. Now if it was a poor personality, it would have been different. If anything, he taught his sons to never judge anyone based on appearance but personality and treating everyone with respectfully unless otherwise.
“What’s a lovely dame doing on her lonesome?” Edge questioned smoothly, sitting down next to her as he looked up at the crescent moon. He wasn’t interested in sleeping with her, nor being in a committed relationship at the moment since dealing with the aftermath of his previous mate leaving the clan. An amused look appeared on his face when Honeywisp appeared confused and began looking around as if he was speaking to someone else instead “Who else would I be speaking to? As one could not help but look like a breathtaking flower within the moonlight.” Edge said, beckoning his head towards her while a charming smile appeared on his lips.
He never lost that charm.

Being left alone late at night with your thoughts was always a recipe for disaster. Honeywisp was no different than anyone else when it came to that. Restlessness and anxiety kept her awake, her thoughts filled with distractions regarding one warrior and only that warrior.
Darktorrent.
The moment she realized that she had fallen in love with her childhood friend, she felt like it was doomed to fail from the start. Impeccable felt like an understatement when it came to Darktorrent. He was an incredibly powerful warrior, skilled in battle and masterful in hunting. He led the Clan once before and had immeasurable experience when it came to guiding others. Honeywisp felt like they were in far different worlds. She could barely hold her own in a fight and she was moderate at best when it came to hunting. Someone like Darktorrent, who was a star in her eyes, would never be interested in her. After all, his past mate was a stunningly gorgeous warrior and she knew that she couldn't compare to her.
Even so, the facts laid out in her head, her heart still ached pitifully when she thought about Darktorrent. As illogical as she told herself it was to have feelings for him, she just couldn't shut her heart down. Honeywisp sighed a drawn out, tired sigh. I wish I could just shut my brain off for a night. She thought.
The voice of someone next to her caused her to jump slightly. She was so deep in her thoughts that she hadn’t noticed Edgefrost's approach. Eyes wide in bewilderment, the pudgy feline glanced up to face the dark-furred warrior. “Uh- huh?” Fumbling on her words, Honeywisp didn’t know how to react. His words were almost like thin air, going in one ear and right out the other. No one had ever, ever flirted with her before. Not seriously, anyway. She had many times been the victim of poorly executed dares as an apprentice, with young boys asking her out only to see if they could get her invested and then dropping her like a fly, howling with laughter when she thought they were actually being serious.
Not to mention Edgefrost, who was a lot like Darktorrent, in a way. He was a successful, respected warrior in RiverClan. He was tall, muscular, broad and good looking. But he was also someone who had beautiful women in his life, so why was he talking to her? She frowned, puzzled and caught off-guard. “I- uh–” Still, she was at a loss for words. Did someone dare him to do this? She didn’t think of Edgefrost as someone cruel enough who would pull a childish prank like this at his age but she couldn’t lie if she said that the thought wasn’t at the back of her mind. They had never interacted once before, why was he suddenly interested in her now? She squinted at him, unconvinced that he genuinely wanted to talk to her, alone together late at night.
“I don’t mean to be rude,” She started sheepishly, her guard clearly still up, “but surely you have other warriors you’d rather spend your time with…”
