Ravenstar Shadowclan Leader It had been a full day since Ravenstar had become leader, and the pressure was on for naming a deputy. It was considered a bad omen if he kept delaying the ceremony.. But it was a hard choice. The large black leader had wanted to name a couple of felines his new deputy.. But the problem was, they all supported him in the mini civil war. Something in him had told him that he couldn’t become biased. ‘What’s wrong?’ He heard Acornwhisper, his guide, whispering softly in his ear which caused Ravenstar to let out a small sigh. Since becoming leader, he had 9 spirit guides that literally lived inside him. While it was annoying at times since there were moments that Racenstar couldn’t think without the voices in his head, it was nice to not feel completely alone. Ravenstar knew that Waspsight could see his guides, but the calico tom hadn’t made an observation yet.. Was this a normal occurrence? A leader having 9 spirits living inside him? Ravenstar hadn’t spoken to Waspsight yet about it, but he knew it would be a conversation for later. ‘I don’t know, I’m not sure if I’m making the right choice.’ Ravenstar thought to himself, shaking his head slightly. The Shadowclan leader refused to speak out loud to his guides.. He didnt want to appear crazy. It had felt like Acornwhisper’s presence was suddenly shoved away because Ravenstar suddenly smelled Leafstorm around him, the brown tabby elder always was giving him a hard time ‘You need someone older and experienced to help you, you don’t have the experience to properly lead Shadowclan yet.’ Leafstorm said, to which Ravenstar rolled his eyes.
‘Ignore him, he’s still grumpy that his choice wasn’t the leader.’ Acornwhisper muttered to which Ravenstar felt Leafstorm’s anger for a moment but brushed it off. Ravenstar felt his head starting to hurt, he didn’t need his guides to suddenly start bickering while he was making an important choice. ‘Whatever choice you make, it will benefit your home.’ Acornwhisper said to which Ravenstar let out a small sigh in agreement. A couple of names, mainly from his supporters came into his head. While suddenly a name popped up.
Going towards the High Point, Ravenstar leaped towards it “Let all those old enough to catch their own prey join underneath the High Point for a clan meeting!” Ravenstar’s voice called out to his clanmates. Watching everyone starting to gather around him, the tom was hesitant for a moment. Did his new deputy have what it took to work with him? Or was he making a mistake? Did they still support Aspenwood?
“I’m ready to name my deputy..” Ravenstar said as he cleared his throat for a moment before shaking his head, why was he doubting himself? He needed to be confident in doing this otherwise his clanmates would be doubting his choice.. This action was supposed to bring together the supporters of Ravenstar and Aspenwood. “I say these words before Starclan, so that the spirits of our warrior ancestors.. For Mercuryrose and Juncostar.. May they hear and approve my choice.” ‘Please strike me with a bolt of lighting if I’m wrong.’ Ravenstar said the inner thought to himself.
“The new deputy of Shadowclan, will be Ryefield.” Ravenstar said calmly, looking down at the calico female and a known supporter of Aspenwood. It was silent for a moment, the black tom awaiting everyone’s reaction for himself naming a newly named warrior as his deputy.
‘You’re an idiot... I need to find a lightning bolt.' Was all Leafstorm said.
Ryefield || She-Cat || ShadowClan Deputy
The call to a meeting, something Ryefield has grown more than used to in the past moon, felt different this time. She supposed it was likely because the clan was awaiting the appointment of a deputy that made this one feel somehow more exciting than anything else. With ears perked, the youngest amongst the clan warriors jumped to her paws, a soft and sudden unhinged cackle of a giggle escapes her as she moves.
Gathering around, sitting amongst her clanmates, the she-cat sat herself towards the back, so that she would be able to peer out over her clanmates and possibly catch glimpse of first reaction of the named deputy. A near-wicked smile tugged at her features as she peered around, and was placed there while she waited. There were many cats she was sure could fit into the place, even if she didn’t know them personally. So inexperienced in her young life, so uninvolved in politics of the clan.
It was quite like the deciding of sides that she weighed in on without any further background on either party.
Now, however it seemed, looks would be turning her way. And she was shocked.
She was to be the deputy? But she’d not yet had an apprentice- she was merely just given her full name!
Her smile didn’t dissolve, however it twisted in discomfort as she found herself peering over the reactions of her clanmates, before looking up towards Ravenstar, her mismatched unique range of colors gaze searching there for some sort of answer from the Leader himself as whispers of clanmates muffled any other sounds, and she blinks in confusion.
After a moment, she stirred to her paws. Was she meant to say something now? She’d never witnessed a deputy ceremony before… Dipping her head now to Ravenstar, and her clanmates, she takes in a deep breath to collect herself. “I… Will do my very best to serve ShadowClan,” she proclaims, voice soft but unwavering.
