Snowdove was all too relieved to be back in camp after her long and lonely journey back home. The heavily pregnant Queen was so close to kitting, and she had been somewhat fearful that she wouldn't make it back to Windclan on time. Kitting all on her lonesome.... she is doubtful she or her kits would have survived. Especially when it was this cold, even though she was coated with fluff even she still felt the bitter chill biting at her skin like the fangs of a venomous serpent.
Currently Snowdove found herself struggling to get her nest all prepped for her kitting. The Medicine Cat had informed her that they could arrive within a few more days or a week or two. Snowdove was determined to find the best materials for her nest, even though it was quite the arduous challenge to do so under the conditions of the snowfall and her only having three legs now. Her clan mates all regarded her with a sense of pity now and it made her skin crawl with a flash of heated annoyance.
Just because she was sans a leg doesn't mean she needed special treatment and for her clan to pity her. She was still just as capable, leg or no leg. She'd prove it to everyone that she could still be a fine warrior, and that she didn't need to resign herself to eternal Queen status or slip away in retirement to the Elder's den. She was still a hale and hearty feline, and she wasn't going to let the simple fact that she was without a leg cripple her to a life that she didn't desire.
As she carried a clumps of moss within her mouth and a plethora of feathers, she grunted with frustration as she pushed herself through the snow banks back towards the heart of camp. She had to readjust her body several times to compensate for the imbalances her lack of a leg caused her, so as not to fall face first into the unforgiving cold substance.
She was determined to prove herself to her clan that she could make it all on her own.
🐞Frecklenose 🐞
The young spotted molly had finally returned from a rather successful hunt, despite the rather obtundent amount of snow and the bone chilled cold she had managed to find about three decent sized rabbits and mouse that had rather dumbly found its way out during the cold weather. To say she was proud of herself was a rather huge understatement, her ability to find this much turning the colder season was rather stretched out. And with the recent events of the black throat plague and the split between her clanmates she was just happy to be of some form of help wherever she could.
Finding her way to the freshkill pile the molly deposited what she had making sure to keep it out of the snow or any form of moisture she finally decided to step back, the last thing she wanted was to ruin her efforts by causing her catches to become crowfood due to lack of proper sheltering from the weather. Letting a pleased purr the molly turned around her amber hues shifting about the clearing as she tried to decide what to do next that was until her gaze landed on a rather pregnant molly. She had heard quite a few things about them and hated the fact that her peers pity her so much do to her lack of leg.
The black and white feline had admired the queen for the hard work they did in preperation for the birth of her kits and the need to do their best despite their disability. Smiling warmly the molly padded towards them dipping her head in greeting. "Well hello there darling! How are you this fine morning?" She chirped softly her tail twitching as she just simply admired the queen. "Not working so hard I hope? You look like you're just about to kit any day now! Do you need help with anything?" She asked softly. There was a part of her that worried that the molly would take offense to her questioning if she needed help. Frecklenose knew the queen was very much capable of taking care of things herself.
"I just would hate to see you get hurt with you being so close to kitting and it being so slick out-" She quickly added her ears folding back in embarrassment.
