It was a beautiful day for WindClan, the sun was out and a soft, cooling breeze swept through the moors. It lulled her usually restless spirit and urged her muscles to relax. She closed her eyes, giving herself a moment to just feel the warmth of the sun and the contrast of the chilly breeze that ruffled her pelt. It was days like today that reminded her how much she loved her home and how much she really belonged here. Airheart opened her eyes again and took a glance at the tom by her side-- Goldensun.
The two of them had a rocky start, not that she could blame him. She had been a hard-headed, egocentric apprentice, after all. Anyone in their right mind would be put off by a loud-mouthed adolescent proclaiming to a grown man that they would be married one day. Airheart nearly wanted to die of embarrassment when she thought back on how outrageously obnoxious she was as a child. But despite her flaws, she was persistent and clung to Goldensun like a fungus in her apprentice days. In due time, he seemed to slowly accept and reciprocate her feelings. Perhaps he valued her determination or maybe he simply came to grow alike to her as well. She didn't know for sure, but that didn't matter now.
Even if she had doubts in her heart about her feelings regarding Appleblossom, she knew deep down that she could never leave WindClan and that things between them would eventually have to end. She needed to focus her priorities on those she loved within her reach. She needed to cherish Goldensun properly.
The pale tabby warrior stepped closer to the golden tom, their pelts gently brushing as she asked him, "Have you eaten yet? Would you like to hunt with me?"
