Honeysplash
'It's time I start making myself look good for the ladies,' Honeyplash thought, meticulously cleaning and sharpening his claws along a shed piece of hardwood. Part of him missed sharing a nest with his ex-mate, Snowyowl. They were still co-parenting their kits, Pollenpaw and Smokypaw. But, the romantic spark between them had died long ago.
Honeysplash knew he hadn't been the best romantic partner, and he butted heads more often than he should. But, he had given the relationship an earnest attempt. It'd been moons since they're separated, mostly amicably, but his heart still ached. 'Sometimes moving on to the next person is the best way to push forward.' He wasn't unused to heartbreak, or being the heartbreaker. He just needed to channel his old charm. He looked up, spotting Thornheart across the clearing. The tom was a kindred spirit, and was sorting through his own relationship issues. Even now, he could see a storm of thoughts swirling about his ears. Honeysplash called out to Thornheart, gesturing for him to come closer. "Need a chat with Mister Romance himself?" he joked, knowing his recent romantic woes were well known within the clan. "Or. at least the advice of somebody who's already messed up once."

A deep purr rumbled in his throat, greeting Thornheart in turn. "Well, you've come to the right tom," he exclaimed. "I've had my share of romantic success, and I can certainly pass some of my wisdom on to you." Honeysplash knew of Finchsong, a polite she-cat with delicate features. She was a catch, but Thornheart was still a young tom. He deserved to explore his options. Rushing into a committed relationship was a waste of youth, in Honeysplash's opinion.
"Oh Thornheart," he rumbled. "You deserve the very best Skyclan has to offer! I'm certain you and Finchsong would make an excellent couple. However ..." he trailed off, a dramatic sparkle in his eye. "Relationships are a lot of work, trust me. Our feelings of infatuation ebb and flow like the ocean. You might feel this way now, but after you chase Finchsong for a couple moons you may feel differently. So, I wouldn't suggest getting too bogged down by the whole 'commitment' thing." He stood, giving Thornheart and affectionate bump in the rump. "You're a strapping young tom after my own heart. Enjoy your youth, and don't let that bee-hived head of yours buzz with too many worries. If you're not feeling the relationship, you can always back out. After all, every cat is different in their own delightful way." He rolled his eyes in an exaggerated fashion, "Oh they'll moan and groan about having their 'heart broken' or whatever. But they always move on. It's a shame to limit yourself in an unsatisfactory relationship just because others thing it's the 'right' or 'sensitive' thing to do."
