Shrimpwhisker
Riverclan Warrior
"Patience ... is key," Shrimpwhisker muttered to themself, peering over the dark waters beneath their perching stone. They were far enough from the rest of the fishing party to have some level of privacy. All the better, so their clanmates couldn't see the orange Riverclanner's scrunched nose of annoyance.
"Patience, clear your mind, enjoy the wait, embrace the meditation ..."
Frankly, fishing was one of Shrimpwhisker's least favorite things. If they could, they'd dive straight into the water and snatch their scaled quarry. However, fishing wasn't a contest of strength. Instead, it was a sport of grace. A quality that Shrimpwhisker unfortunately lacked.
"By Starclan, I'm gonna be mocked all the way home," they growled, noticing the others had already caught their first, or even second, prey. "Rediculous food source, really. Delicious, but how-" Something sloshed against the stone nearby, damp orange fur peeking above the waterline. Shrimpwhisker took a deep breath, catching the scent of blood upon the air. "Help! Someone's injured, help!" they cried out, rushing forward and diving into the river, scattering whatever fish may have been nearby. Their teeth met the scruff of the young kit, who floated limply in the water. Shrimpwhisker's heart wrenched in anguish as they pulled the little tom further towards safety. A little chunk was missing from his nose. "Help me, we should stabilize him and get Venomrose! "
The confused kit kept staring at him. He gave him a small smile through the pain. He looked like a friend. He didn't really know what clan meant but he knew that they were helping him. He coughed out more water and winced. His face felt like it didn't fit. It was swollen and he couldn't smell anything at all. He couldn't figure out who these cats were or if he'd ever met them. He doubted it though.
He kept himself limp and let the other two help him. He didn't think he could focus on walking. Instead he gave a pathetic sort of mewl and tried purring to ease his own stress and the of the other two.
"Hi," he tried but it hurt to speak and he put his head down again.
