Black and silver fur ruffled slightly as she felt the cold rush of the breeze rush off of the river. Ears twitching while looking over her shoulder to hear paws crunching in the snow, her grey eyes watching for a long moment but she chalked it up to being a clanmate that hadn’t yet shown their face. Letting out a soft hum, the slender molly turned away from the river as she began to walk back towards camp. However, a familiar brightly colored pelt caught her eye as a border patrol was making the rounds. Lips lifting in a tender smile as Inksong began to walk towards the feline that made her heart stutter and her stomach flutter. Since becoming warriors it felt like Snowfeather was trying to keep the best friends apart.
“Oriolepetal.” The soft spoken she-cat puffed in greeting, her eyes tender as she brushed her head along her best friends side, ignoring the glare of the other warriors on the patrol. “Aren’t you supposed to be hunting?” Goosefur asked, his voice tart while Inksong simply smiled, giving the tomcat a dip of her chin. “I won’t keep her too long. Maybe I’ll tag along and if I see an opportunity to hunt, I’ll take it.” She said softly, smiling while Goosefur lightly snorted. “Works for me.” He grunted, walking ahead while she hummed and looked back at Oriolepetal, reaching out to gently lick a ruffled patch of fur on the mollies shoulder. “Looks like you are having fun.” She smiled.

Nodding slowly, she also wished at times that they were apprentices again, sneaking off and getting into trouble with one another. But she was enjoying the freedom she had as a warrior, although she was given order after order, she was still enjoying herself. “Yeah, I agree with you. Perhaps if you were a better huntress we could tag team.” She mused with humor, smiling softly as she used a slim shoulder to lightly bump against Oriolepetal’s in a friendly manner. Her friend’s pouting was adorable, those golden eyes roaming along the stream and gazing towards Goosefur. Inksong giggled softly as her eyes also flickered towards the large grey furred grump, nodding. “I don’t think I’d be able to convince him not to tell on me. But.. I also don’t regret tagging along.” She snickered softly and quietly, meaning no harm as she gazed down at the slightly shorter she-cat.
Rubbery dark lips lifted slightly in amusement as her friend seemed to enjoy the thought of sneaking away later this evening and just enjoying a good hunt. Just the two of them. “Good. I would greatly enjoy hearing about your day.” Inksong nodded, the silver patches on her pelt shimmering under the light of the sun as she cleared her throat slightly. “Just don’t mention that to grump because I would really like to spend sometime with you.” She hummed, lowering her head in order to rasp her tongue across the brightly colored ears. Nodding as she looked down at Oriolepetal as her friend nuzzled into her side, letting out a soft trill. “Good, then its a date and don’t you dare miss it!” She laughed lightly, granting her a quick glared from Goosefur but she smiled sheepishly before gazing after Oriolepetal. Letting her friend cross the stepping stones first, taking her time as she gracefully crossed the icy water. Stepping beside Oriolepetal once more, pressing against her. “How have you been sleeping?” She asked softly.

Oriolepetal let out a soft snicker as she did her best to stay alert but also just catching up with the molly beside her, "You know I wonder if he has stick up his butt hes always bitter for no good reason!" She teasingly whispered in the mollys ear not wanting the tom to exactly overhear her as her ears flickered in the light breeze that decided to brush along causing the feline to shiver a little. It was simply pure coincidences that Inksong had been in the area and just honestly that made the mollys day so much better then it had first started out.
Letting out a soft hum she nodded a little, after all the deputy just had a litter of kits and wasn't intentionally doing anything just simply doing her job and that was all. "I know she's not meaning to do it on purpose it just sucks sometimes! I miss having you around all the time it makes me wish we were apprentices all over again you know?" She pouted softly twitching her tail slightly as she let her amber hues scan around the border her ears flickering as she tried to ensure nothing was near by that was really much of a threat to the clan. "I'm sure in starclan won't be mentioning to snowfeather that you have! Although try convincing mr. grumpy over there to not say anything." Oriolepetal giggled lightly before her ears perked up a bit.
"Perhaps once I'm done with this patrol I could help you catch something I'm sure they don't need all of us to relay that everything seems normal around the borders plus we could probably catch quite a bit. For once I don't have much to do this afternoon which is honestly the best!" She purred lightly doing a happy little dance. Feeling the tongue of her friend over hear caused a flutter of butterflies to wash over her causing her cheeks to heat up quite a bit.
"Honestly I would absolutely love to spend the afternoon hanging out if you don't have much going on today either! Plus we can just gossip and all that!" She grinned sheepishly as she nuzzled into the others side ensuring she was being careful as the crossed the stepping stones. The last thing this golden warrior wanted was a dip in the icy waters that surged below their paws.

Oriolepetal looked like she was deep in thought before she had appeared, but for now she was simply smiling as she gazed down at her best friend. “I was really dreary. But now my mood has brightened.” She hummed softly before drawing her tongue over her lips. Goosefur was a bit of a grump but he always had been, nothing about his attitude should’ve surprised her, but she smiled regardless. She was intruding on their patrol, but she was seizing the opportunity to spend some time with her best friend. “Good to know he will never change.” Inksong hummed softly before her silver eyes flickered down towards Oriolepetal, tail tip rattling with approval as her friend nuzzled into her side. She really liked feeling close to this little molly, made her feel better throughout the day.
Giving a small wiggle to her nose, she fell right into step with the rest of the patrol, her side gently brushing against Oriole’s. “You would think. But I don’t really think she’s noticing. Snowfeather has other things to worry about other than two best friends. But-“ She paused with a tender smile, using her head to lightly nudge her friends side. “She doesn’t need to know that I crashed your patrol.” Ears perked up slightly as one of their clan mates spoke, but since it wasn’t directed towards her, she didn’t peel her attention off of Oriolepetal. “I’ve been fine I suppose. Missing you though.” She admitted with a soft sigh, her black and grey splotched tail swaying behind her as she briefly looked towards their fellow warriors. “Maybe when you aren’t so busy and I actually manage to catching something, we can share tongues?” She asked with a bright gaze, chin tilting slightly as she leaned over to gently rasp her tongue over the felines ear. “I’d like to hear how you have really been.” Inksong hummed, her paws delicately stepping over the river stones.

Ginger and tan fur fluffed up against the harsh winds that came along with the snowy weather. Amber hues shifting about as she had finally been tasked to go out and mark the borders and see if something seemed a little fishy. Ever since the feline had become a warrior she had slowly started to see less and less of her only best friend. It had almost seemed like the deputy was determined to keep the two apart. Oriolepetal didn't entirely blame her though, protecting the clans from any danger and bringing in fresh prey was probably one of the most important things when it came to finishing out their moons of training.
That was until she saw the familiar pattern of the molly, a swarm of butterflies crashing through the pits of her stomach as she purred in delight. "Well, hello my love how are you?" She asked softly before her attention was pulled toward the grumpy feline. "It won't hurt to have another person in the patrol!" She added softly before she glanced back over to the molly a warm smile pulling across her face. "Oh you know, the funniest time of my life! You wouldn't believe it." She sarcastically teased before she nuzzled into her side a little.
"It's very nice to see you again Inksong! You'd think the deputy had it out for us with how much they like to keep us separate" She giggled softly before she started to proceed on with the rest of the group making sure to stick close to her friend. Despite how often they got to see each other the molly had always found herself feeling rather mushy and loss for words at time. Day in and day out she always felt that she was absolutely lucky to have someone like her in her life. Someone who was not only stunning but had an amazing personality.
"How have you been..?" She asked arching a brow as she casted her gaze back towards the feline.
