Betwix intermittent clouds peeked a full silver moon, lighting the pelts of the small patrol approaching the abandoned structure ahead. The concrete pathway leading to the ruined two-leg house was overrun with weeds, their roots splitting the stone. Its walls flaked with peeling paint. Its intact windows, caked with grime, blocked light and sight into the structure. Within was a tantalizing scent, the precious catmint herb the patrol sought. Beside the split wooden entry door was a window, open wide enough for cats to safely squeeze through. The wind howled, whistling across the rotted roof as the cats entered, one by one. Inside was a small dusty bedroom. The floor was covered in fabric, damp to the touch. A large squishy twoleg nest loomed near the end of the room, draped to the floor with tattered purple fabric. It was scented faintly with an unnaturally flowery perfume. To the left of the twoleg nest was a door, swung halfway open. Moonlight spilled through the doorway, faintly illuminating the room. The doorway led to another room, its length stretching far to the left and right. Its wooden floors were broken and splintered from heavy beams, having fallen from the destroyed second floor. The smell of catmint was growing stronger, its scent emanating from beneath the cracked floorboards. To the right side of the room, a beam of silver light shone through the ceiling. It illuminated the ground below, highlighting a broken kittypet collar with a single silver bell. Without provocation, it began to jingle faintly. As if on cue, the moonlight faded, leaving the patrol in darkness. A loud bang sounded from the bedroom as the window they entered slammed shut, rattling the glass panes within. The patrol's known exit was blocked, trapping them within the abandoned house. The scent of a stranger wafted from the stairway, where a ghostly creature with menacing red eyes perched at the top step. They moved forward on incorporeal paws, their disembodied voice rasping: "Intruders... your lives are mine... give it all to me... your freedom."

Greenleaf is in full flush. Temperatures reach nearly unbearable hights. Long-furred cats should stray from the sun.
