Scorpionthroat ignores questions thrown at him as the large silver tabby tom pads away from the patrol without so much as a second glance. He hated that many thought they could make idle chit-chat with him, especially on patrol--how annoying. There was only one feline he wanted to be spending time with right now, Waspsight. His crimson honey gaze flickers over the clearing briefly, making sure not to overlook his mate, sighing softly to himself as the smaller calico male was no where in sight. Meaning he could only be in one place, the medicine den, probably overworking with restocking the herbs again. Just the thought causes him to shake his head in exasperation as he knew that Waspsight felt like he needed to prove himself to Shadowclan, that he could handle the responsibilities of being the sole medical provider since Hareflight stepped down. Weaving through the crowded clearing, not bothering to apologize when his shoulder accidentally clips into others, his attention solely on the medicine den as he gets closer.
The strong herbal scent wafting through his nostrils, causing his stiff posture to relax as he slips into the den. Pausing at the entrance, leaning his large frame against the entry way as his gaze instantly locks on Waspsight. Just seeing his mate mindlessly tidying up the den causes a rare fond smile to tug on his lips. For several minutes he remains still and quite, not wanting to startle the overly concentrated tom, though his patience dwindles when Wasp had yet to notice his presence. Quietly huffing as he rolls his eyes in amusement before quietly sneaking up on him, it helped that the calico had his back turned. Smirking as he lowers his cranium to peer over his loves shoulder, arching a brow as he takes note that his mate was absentmindedly counting poppy seeds. Scorpionthroat could sense that something was troubling the bi-colored tom as he kept recounting the same poppy seeds. "I do not think the number is going to change, no matter how many times you count them." He whispers into Wasp's ear. Grinning as his mate jumps, startled by his sudden appearance.
"Are you okay, Little Mouse? You look like you were deep in that complex mind of yours." Scorpionthroat purrs as he lightly nuzzles the smaller tom.
Scorpionthroat |The Blunt Sword of Shadowclan|
Scorpion only ever felt comfortable showing his softer side towards Waspsight. Especially after the calico had almost froze to death in an avalanche. Scorp had never been so afraid to lose someone in a long time, and he hoped he would not lose Wasp anytime soon. The large silver tabby could tell that Wasp was grateful that he was demanding answers like he normally would, but instead had listened and taken him to a secluded sanctuary where they could talk freely without worrying someone would interrupt them. His ears twitching slightly as he takes in the sounds around them, hearing birds chirping and the trickling of the brook, his attention returning back to his mate when feeling the smaller Tom lean into his side.
Subconsciously wrapping his long tail around his hip, holding him even closer as he silently waits for Wasp to explain. Giving him a reassuring nod that he was ready, it certainly surprised him to hear that all of Wasp’s worrying centered around something to do with his parentage. Humming in thought, he had always wondered if Wasp knew of his birth parents, but after teasing and bullying him in their youth, he had dropped the topic. “I promise I won’t tell anyone. Who else do I talk to?” Scorp teases and reassures as he nuzzles his mate, trying to calm his nerves. His honey crimson eyes flickering over him, settling on his bi-colored eyes that he loved so much. “You can tell me anything” Scorpion honestly says, whatever needed to be said would remain confidential between the two lovers.
Eyes widening in surprise at the sudden bomb being dropped. ‘Wisteriastar and Hornetstar….’ He repeated within his mind. “Huh kinda saw that but didn’t” he admits, pursing his lips. “I had heard vague rumors that Wisteriastar and Hornetstar disappeared around the same time. Makes sense now that you’ve told me of your parents” Scorpionthroat adds before placing a soft kiss upon Waspsight’s forehead. Loving that he was able to calm the stuttering tom against him. “Hush now. You don’t have to explain anything to me.” Placing his larger paw over his trembling one. “Am I the only one who knows, outside of your family? I swear I will not tell a soul of your heritage, it is no one’s business” Scorp mutters, his jaw clenching briefly at just the mere thought of someone threatening his mate and family over something that Waspsight had no control over.
“Does that make Weaver your sister? Many have been whispering the uncanny resemblance to Hornetstar and I have to say they aren’t wrong” he questions, though he could already tell what the answer would be. Pausing suddenly as Wasp’s words register in his mind, tilting his chin down, using his paw to cup his mate’s cheek and lightly forcing him to look at him. “I appreciate you telling me, feeling comfortable enough to reveal such a secret. You are the only one for me as well, when you are ready, I would love to start a family with you. I will be honest though, I am not sure how good of a father I will be. I never had a positive father figure….” Scorp sheepishly admits. He did not want to disappoint his beloved, but could not deny the fear that maybe he would not be good enough or what Wasp needs.
