Speckledmoss was relieved to be settling down for the day. It had been yet another long and tiring day of tending to her clanmates, however that's not to say she didn't mind it. She cared not how much her paws ached at the end of the day, or how her eyes burned with the need to close. She enjoyed caring for her clanmates, it was equal parts her life's calling as it was fulfilling. She loved being Skyclan's Medicine Cat and adored her apprentice Opalpaw to the moon and back again. Though she wouldn't lie to herself that it wasn't arduous work at times, and she wouldn't mind having a day or two, maybe even three just to laze about. Alas that was as likely to happen as the stars falling from silverpelt. The brown, white, and black speckled molly was about to slip into her nest, to curl up next to Opalpaw when frantic voices she knew all too well by now echoed through the entrance and reverberated off of the den walls. "Speckledmoss! Speckledmoss! Opalpaw! Help, help! Laurelkit owchie!" Nightkit rushed into the den, her eyes as round as the rising moon above camp. "Owchie! Owchie!" Daykit exclaimed. as she helped Laurelkit pad into the den, who was leaning on her shoulder, one paw tucked up against her chest. "Laurelkit twist paw!" "My goodness, alright. Hush now little ones, I'll take a look. Though you must try and keep quiet, my apprentice is sleeping. She's had a long day today." Speckledmoss flicked her tail tip towards Opalpaw, the poor dear hadn't been sleeping well lately. She was hoping after such an intensive day such as this, it would force Opalpaw to sleep deeply, no matter what might haunt her dreaming. The Medicine Cat came over to Daykit and gently prodded her away from Laurelkit, she gently took her up by the scruff and carried her over to an empty nest and plopped her down carefully within it. "My dearest little one, how did this happen?" She inquired, as she eyed Laurelkit's paw, concern flitting through her gaze. She could tell it was somewhat swollen already.
