Edgefrost
Riverclan Warrior
While he had gotten sons, Edge certainly didn’t expect to have nieces either.. But the world worked in mysterious ways huh?
“Spottedkit, come.” Edge said, dark green eyes narrowed as the large black and gray Maine Coon stepped out of the nursery and his eyes squinted in the sunlight while letting out a soft snort. He wished this cold weather would simply disappear, Edge had enough of the weather and it’s many flaws. Today, the boys were spending time with Snowfeather before she would receive her nine lives from Starclan. The white and gray deputy wanted to make sure that their boys would get enough time spent with their mother as she would be adapting into a leadership role when stepping back into camp. There was a discussion between the two mates, and Edge agreed that he would be watching Galekit, Jaykit and Sleetkit throughout the day while Snowstar would perform her duties from now on.
It seemed like Spottedkit wanted to spend time with Edge, as she asked her father Koipetal if she could hang out with him. While Snowfeather was curled up with the boys in the nursery nest, Edge and Spottedkit had decided it was time for their little adventure. If he was being honest, Spottedkit had wormed his way into his little heart. The little kit had acted like one of the boys when playing with Galekit, Sleetkit and Jaykit. Urchinkit and Flashkit seemed a bit stand-offish at times while Starkkit was trying her best to understand Edge’s sons, but just couldn’t figure out their way of thinking.
While Edge didn’t have daughters, he was quite protective of Spottedkit and her sisters. There was probably a good reason that he didn’t have a daughter, as he probably would have been an extremely overbearing father to that daughter.. That, or she would turn out just like him.. Edge wasn’t sure which would be worse, and he didn’t wanna find out anytime soon. Nostrils flaring slightly when looking around camp, he found a spot within camp that didn’t have enough snow. Signaling towards Spottedkit, his feathery tail went to sweep away some snow so the two could have a spot to sit at. Watching the kit for a moment, Edge released a huff “Spottedkit, I’m going to teach you how to fend for yourself today.. For instance, you cannot trust a male besides your fathers, me and the boys.. As they always don’t have the right intentions, and you’ll need to smack them around so they don’t mess with you.” He said, eyes narrowed. Snowfeather was already quite a protective mom, even the thought of her boys having a love life had made her cringe while it didn’t bother Edge.. Because he knew that the boys would be able to handle themselves, after all, they had a tough father. 04b90f

Arching an eyebrow when looking down at Spottedkit, a small sigh escaped him while his tail flicked back and forth. Edgefrost wasn’t exactly pleased with the news that his niece and son had managed to snuck out of camp, as the two could have gotten into danger. An image of a fox entered the black and gray Maine Coon’s mind as he couldn’t help but think about the fox accident that he and Snowfeather went through when they were apprentices. Starclan knows what he would have done if something happened to the small kits. His feathery tail was flicking back and forth for a moment, thinking of the correct words to say. Edge knew that Snowfeather would have some kind of heart failure if she found out that Galekit had left camp without permission, the white and gray molly practically knew her kits’ locations at all times.. Even when she couldn’t physically watch over them.
It seemed like Spottedkit had noticed that he was quiet before giving the tiny kit a small smile “I’m not angry.” Edge said, watching her facial expression. When becoming a father, Edge had to learn many new things.. Including becoming more patient. Letting out a soft sigh, he shook his head while his fur fluffed up slightly “Next time, ask me if you wish to leave camp so we can have better arrangements and you two can have a better adventure.. Okay?” He questioned, arching an eyebrow while his dark green eyes narrowed slightly. Edge wasn’t sure that Rainysky and Koipetal would allow their daughter to leave camp unless one of them was present, but it would be worth the effort. Starclan knows that it would take a lot of convincing to get his mate to let the boys out of camp. The black and gray Maine Coon certainly needed to keep an eye out on Galekit, his oldest son was quite a goon.
“Tell you what, let’s play a game of defending the camp.” Edge said, rising up from his spot and shaking his fur and letting out a soft snort. The boys were napping, otherwise he would be dragging them out of here to play with them as it was their favorite game of all time. The black and gray Maine Coon pretended to be a badger that stormed the camp and the kits had to protect their land and each other. However it was a test to see if Spottedkit could manage to defend her home as ‘Spottedstar’. Crouching down, the black and gray Maine Smirked “Let's go Spottedstar, show me what you can do.” Edge challenged her playfully
Spottedkit froze at the mention of her playdate with her cousins; the group of kittens were given a lot of freedom during their play time. Being the children of two respected warriors and two high ranks the two litters were trusted to behave on their own. For the most part they were, until they weren't anyways. Their time started as every other time with the four kittens playing warriors and rogues, but you can only play the same game so many times before the attention span of the kitten runs out. Spottedkit and her bestie Galekit wanted to explore the territory, but Sleetkit and Jaykit objected, refusing to join the two on their outing. While the other kits were taking a nap, exhausted from playing all day, Galekit had dragged Spottedkit outside of the camp. They were overwhelmed for sure, but Spottedkit loved every minute of it; she couldn't wait until they were actually allowed to leave the camp openly. Galekit and Spottedkit had sworn to each other that they couldn't breathe a word of their outing. Spottedkit hesitated looking back at her uncle, Edgefrost was her favorite cat in Riverclan she didn’t want to hide anything from him, plus he might be proud of her for being so brave to go explore. “I dunno Uncle Edge. Galekit and I made an oath not to tell a single soul.”
Spottedkit looked back towards Edgefrost, compared to the small kitten he was a large warrior, perfect for climbing on. A small laugh escaped her muzzle before she launched an attack on him, not giving him any more time to pry into the kitten play date. The small calico kit barreled into his side, “But since you’re my most favoritest Uncle in the whole world I can trust you right Uncle Edge? You have to swear not tell Snowfeather or my dad.” Spottedkit got real quiet, her eyes glancing to make sure her fathers weren’t approaching anytime soon. “Galekit and I went on an adventure…We went to the small streams right outside the camp entrance. It was AMAZING. So many different smells and sights, we didn’t go in the water but just to the bank.” You could feel the excitement and pride flooding off the small molly, she was Riverclan through and through of course she would get excited being able to see the water where they will one day learn to swim and fish. The kits were always told not to leave the camp but you can't blame curious children when an explanation is never really given. ‘It's too dangerous to go outside the camp’ is all they ever heard but no one told them why it was so dangerous so of course the confident kits would want to explore. "It just gets so boring being in the camp all day along, especially when I can't play with Galekit, Jaykit, and Sleetkit. My sisters are just babies, they cried when I got too rough and got me in trouble with Daddy Koipetal." Her words were said with a deep pout settling in on her muzzle as she remembered her time with the elder.
Edgefrost Riverclan Warrior The black and gray tom watched Spottedkit press against his foreleg, a small amused smile appeared on his face. The tiny molly clearly knew what she was doing, trying to avoid a death glare that Edge would have given her. Edge was quite used to Galekit and Sleetkit trying to avoid trouble with their little schemes that occurred around the camp. They always managed to get away with it when it came to their mother, as Snowfeather believed all three boys were angels. Jaykit seemed to be the only one well-behaved, as he listened to everything that his parents said.. Thankfully there was one good child. Letting out a mere sigh, Edge suddenly knew why Spottedkit had Koipetal wrapped around her little tail. It would certainly help her in the long run when it came to her fathers and training.. Whoever her mentor would be when the time would come. Letting out a nod of approval, Edge was satisfied with Spottedkit’s answer. “Good, anyone that isn’t our family doesn't really have good intentions.. So make sure that you watch carefully and slap someone if they’re doing something wrong.” The large Maine Coon said, with narrowed eyes. His sons knew how to properly take care of themselves, Edge made sure of that. Whenever it was stranger danger or getting lost.. His boys were very smart. Looking around, Edge leaned down and a grin appeared on his lips “Now, tell me what you and the boys did today.. I know you guys had a little playdate.” Edge hummed, knowing that Spottedkit had a close bond with Galekit, Jaykit and Sleetkit. The little molly was definitely like a daughter that he never had, his boys were everything to him as well. The black and gray tom adored Snowfeather and their little family together, it was honestly such a surreal feeling to experience fatherhood. It was a bit tricky, but Edge loved every single second of it. Remembering something, Edge arched an eyebrow when looking down at Spottedkit with a pointed look “What’s this that I’m hearing off that you got into trouble and got sent off to the elder’s den?” The tom questioned, noticing his niece’s facial expression changing as she was clearly caught. As if Edge wouldn’t hear about it, Koipetal and Edge got along well. The two toms would sit in the middle of the clearing watching the kits play while their mates were off doing high-rank duties. He heard about Spottedkit’s little scandal from Koipetal, and hanging out with Spottedfish. The black and gray tom was certainly glad that the former medicine cat was extremely patient because Sleetkit was well known to cause mischief within the eldery cats. Then Edge was well known with the elders as he used to gamble with them back in the day when he was a mere apprentice.
The calico kitten wanted to play with Edgefrost and Snowfeathers sons all day, but she was told they were spending time with Snowfeather today so she would have to find a different way to entertain herself. Even her own sisters were busy doing their own things today, but thankfully right as the kitten was about to die of boredom her favorite cat, aside from her fathers, showed his face in the nursery. Begging Koipetal to let her go play with Uncle Edgefrost. Spottedkits eyes lit up when the large maine coon warrior called for the small kitten to follow him, eye head shooting back to look at her ginger and white father for approval; with his quick nod okaying Spottedkit scurried after Edgefrost. Spottedkit loved her sisters, she really did, but nothing compared to the time she got to spend with Edgefrost and his sons just hit differently to her. The rambunctious she cat had boundless energy that most kittens had but on top of that she had this unruly desire to constantly wrestle with the others; because of this she spent most of her time with Galekit, Jaykit, and Sleetkit as they could typically handle her rough housing compared to her sisters.
Spottedkit loved the snow, granted she had never known any season aside from leaf-bare, but she still loved it. Her small body crashing into a small pile of snow built up over time from the pressure of paws pushing the snow to the side. A wide tooth grin formed on her muzzle as she buried herself under the snow, constantly disappearing into the snow before popping back up out of it. Noticing Edgefrost settle down after finish the two a nice spot to chat Spottedkit leaped out of the snow, white specks decorating her long calico pelt, giving it a big shake. A giggle escaped from her as she took notice of the snow specks that decorated her pelt now standing out against Edgefrost dark black fur. “Hehe sorry Uncle.” Weaving in and out of his front paws as she rubbed against his legs, purrs following her words. Spottedkit often did this with her own fathers, knowing they'd forgive her the moment she did.
Spottedkit tried her best to listen when her elders spoke to her but she was still a kitten and her attention span only lasted so long, right now her Uncle's feathery tail caught her eyes. A small playful growl erupting from her small body as she jumped onto his tail, her sharp kitten teeth taking small nips at it. “Ack gross!!” Spitting out the loose fur from his tail that she ended up pulling out by accident. Her large ears twitched as his voice pulled her from her trance, “Yes Uncle?” The calico molly actually sitting up to listen to the maine coons words. Her head cocking to the side slightly, “What do you mean though Uncle? Why would I have to be worried about other males? I have the blood of the greatest family around the clans I can handle anything!” Spottedkit didn't exactly know the meaning to all the words she spoke, but it was more so things she heard other cats around the clan say when talking about The Great Wisteriastar, her grandmother.
