Cold crisp air slowly made its way into the windclan nursery, snow clinging to the ground as if it had no other real reason to exist. The coldness wasn’t for the faint of heart, those who weren’t graced with long fur or were too tiny to realize their misfortune. The day was still quite young when the young kitten stirred in her foster mothers nest, squirming slightly as a way to maybe stay asleep the molly just simply couldn’t. Overall excited for what the day could bring Havenkit slowly opened up her ears, flickering slightly as a way to sense if others were up and about.
The world to the kitten was unfortunately rather dark, being born with the lack of eyesight other than being able to see shapes or ‘blurs’ of objects and other cats was what she viewed the world. With that notion her other senses were as if it was haywire. What would be considered normal for others hers was just ever so slightly better and would continue to grow the older she got. Hearing others kits chat in the nest next to her the molly scrambled up to her paws. Not yet hungry, she decided she’d try to see if anyone wanted to play a game.
“Good morning! Does anyone wanna play a game of tag or something?” She mewed out her ears flickering as she hopefully waited for someone to answer her tail twitching slightly. The molly would obviously understand if others weren’t in the mood just yet as most were barely getting up for the day but a cat could be hopeful right? Hopefully someone was willing as there was just so much the feline wanted to do that day. She could all but imagine the many fun games to be played and perhaps they were lucky to go out into the sun for a little?
Cricketkit
Windclan Kitten
The little dark tabby kit was jumping for joy, clearly pleased that both of them had won. It wasn’t until she stopped for a moment at Havenkit’s offer for wanting more playtime, she was very pleased with the offer. Cricketkit wasn’t ready to go to naptime yet, although she knew that Heatherpetal would be coming soon to bring her into the nest for naptime. It wasn’t until an idea popped into her head
“Let’s play hide and seek!” Cricketkit said with excitement in her tone. She lowered herself playfully while her tail was waving back and forth. It wasn’t until her blue eyes shined in excitement “You can count and I’ll hide!” Cricketkit said as she waited until the other molly turned around to which Cricketkit quickly looked around before suddenly taking off at the direction of a sleeping Blackfire who was currently heavily pregnant with kits.
Knowing her aunt wouldn’t snitch on her, Cricketkit began quickly making her way behind her aunt. Frozen in place at the moment that her aunt began stirring in her sleep,if Blackfire woke up.. She was busted! Crouching behind the black and gray tabby, Cricketkit peered over to see that Havenkit was searching for her. A small giggle escaped her as she went back to hiding behind the pregnant female, trying to hide her face into a piece of moss that was Blackfire’s bedding.

The dark tabby let out a small squeak of surpise when falling to the ground, feeling her cheeks growing hot as Cricketkit couldn’t help but become embarrassed that she had taken quite a tumble, especially in front of her new friend. At the corner of her eye, she noticed that Heatherpetal shifted in her nest which caused Startledcrow to grumble in his sleep, her mother was ready to get out of the nest to collect her and bring Cricketkit back. The rose-gold molly was a protective mother, especially for a young one, while Startledcrow was often the one that let their kits learn from their actions.
“I’m okay!” Cricketkit squeaks towards Heatherpetal and Havenkit. Heatherpetal watched her kit for a moment before letting out a soft sigh before slowly relaxing in her nest once more and resting her head on her mate’s. The small molly had a goofy grin on her face “Go on! Win the race for me!” Cricketkit encouraged Havenkit, as it wasn’t about competition but let out a small huff when saw her friend wouldn’t move. Alas, she had met her match as she was also a stubborn molly. Slowly getting up, the Windclan kitten began shaking the dust out of her fur before letting out a big grin and trotting towards the other kit
“Let's go win this.” Cricketkit said, before moving with the other small molly towards the other half of the nursery. The small molly was excited, both of them would be winners! Bounding towards the finish line, Cricketkit nudged Havenkit and beckoned her head towards the wall “On Three, we touch the wall together.” Cricketkit promised, before counting and on three.. Both females placed their paws on the wall “We win!” Cricketkit cheered, her periwinkle eyes were shining in happiness before turning to the molly and giving her a high-paw.

The small tabby molly couldn’t tell that Havenkit was having any difficulties, as Cricketkit saw the smaller molly like any other kit. While her father was blind, Startledcrow was treated like any other feline in the eyes of his and Heatherpetal’s family. While her periwinkle gaze remained at the other side of the wall within the nursery, Cricketkit turned to look towards Havenkit “Come, this way!” The smoky tabby said, guiding her friend towards the starting line. After all, Heatherpetal had said kindness went a long way… Unless they were irritating (Those were Startledcrow’s words, not her own)
“We made it!” Cricketkit chriped once they hit the starting line, her eyes gleaming with excitement. Looking towards her newfound friend, she was excited that someone wanted to play with her that wasn’t her siblings. “My name is Cricketkit by the way.” The small molly said with a big smile, it was polite to know a new friend’s name after all! Making it towards the starting line, she looked at Havenkit “Okay! First one to the other side wins!” Cricketkit said, before lowering herself as the small kit
Was preparing herself.
“Ok! On your mark, get set.. Go!” Cricketkit said before taking off, her little stubby legs were trying to go fast. Although the small molly fell to a disadvantage when suddenly tripping over her two paws and had fallen “Oof!” Cricketkit said, watching Havenkit stop to look back at her direction “Go on!” Cricketkit encouraged her friend, rising to her paws after a bit and following after her. Heatherpetal would certainly be giving her a scolding later on as Cricketkit was a well known clumsy kit within the nursery. All she wanted to do was see her friend win!
The small molly was about to give up and go lay back down when she heard and more so smelled the other kitten come hurtling towards her. A small smile crossing her maw as she perked up with excitement. "H-hi there! Nice to meet you!" She chirped softly as she squint towards the other trying her best to make out the features of the other. Due to the lack of lighting Havenkit could really only make out the fact that the feline was well taller then her and maybe a brown of some sorts?
Huffing slightly to herself she awkwardly dipped her head towards the other, figuring that was the polite way to introduce herself, "My name's H-havenkit!" She chirped out softly her ears twitching slightly as she saw down her bushy tail wrapping around her paws. As far as he could tell she was a single child, one that was pretty sickly from the get go. Having little to no memory outside of the medicine cat den she was just barely let back into the nursery being deemed not contagious and could be around others once more.
Ears perking slightly the molly strained over to see where exactly the feline was pointing towards, blinking not once but twice the feline frowned a little. "Uh.. You said from there to there?" She asked softly, awkwardly pointing towards one side to the other not really sure if she was remotely close to where the dark feline pointed towards. All she could do is just pray that she was and she didn't have to feel bad about being troublesome.
"S-sure lets race then!" She meowed anyways a smile dusting her pale face her tail twitching slightly.

The dark tabby climbed out of the nest that her parents and siblings were resides in, Startledcrow’s tail was wrapped around Heatherpetal’s side as the rose gold molly snuggles into her mate. Cricketkit had woken up early from naptime, while her other siblings were still asleep. Upon hearing Havenkit’s requests for a playmate, the small molly made her way towards her mother who was napping. Her small tanned paws went against Heatherpetal’s cheek “Mama, I’m going to go play with friends” Cricketkit chriped, Heatherpetal mumbled something about staying inside the nursery, and if she were to leave the den then to stay around her older siblings. Nodding, she felt Heatherpetal turning and nuzzling her face in Startledcrow’s chest and went back to sleep.
“Hiya!” Cricketkit said, going towards Havenkit. Noticing that she was taller than the other kit, she simply had to thank Startledcrow’s long limbs as the other females seemed to had taken after Heatherpetal instead. Remembering Heatherpetal’s words, that she must remain kind and use her words if the molly wasn’t pleased with anything. The small dark tabby didn’t have much of a filter, like Startledcrow, but it didn’t stop her from going on different adventures. Her blue eyes sparkled as she looked at her newfound friend. It was exciting! Her feathery tail was waving eagerly. Tilting her head, the young molly grinned “My name is Cricketkit, nice to meet ya!” Cricketkit said, remembering her manners.
“Let’s race!” Cricketkit said, lowering herself into a play stance. The kit was always so playful, always keeping her parents on their toes. Looking around. Cricketkit’s gaze went from one end of the nursery to fhe other. The dark tabby kit was trying to figure out where to start and finish. “Okay, we start from that end.” The molly bekoned her head a couple of feet away at the entrance. Cricketkit soon looked towards the very back of the nursery, at the wall “Towards that wall there!” Cricketkit said before turning to her friend with a huge grin “You ready?”
