🍄 Laurelkit 🍄
It had been a few days since she had returned from the medicine cat den. Laurelkit had managed to get rather carried away when it came to playing with her friends, Daykit and Nightkit. Having not listened to the warnings her mother had given her she had managed to find herself getting rather hurt, her front right paw getting twisted as the outcome of her doing what she wanted. Because of that she was told to stay off it for quite a while in order for it to maybe heal properly. Hearing that caused the young molly to get rather upset and quite the grumpy kitten while at it.
A soft sigh came from molly as she had laid curled up in her nest, being one of the only ones in her little family to still be laying inside. The rest had gone out to play in the snow or to do whatever it was that they do in their free time. Green hues had shifted about the little area seeing if there was something to do or even someone to chat with. A small little frown painted her face as she let out a little sigh. "This sucks..." she mumbled to herself her ears flickering slightly.
Since being casted to stay inside she had slowly started to wonder about what if her paw never healed properly would she still be made an apprentice? Or would she be forced to stay in the nursery forever because of her childish behaviors that had caused her to get hurt in the first place. The molly had always figured that she'd get to hang around with her siblings, becoming apprentices and learning how to protect her clan against the dangers that could creep up, to hunting for the clan especially during this time of the year. Did she mess this up? Will she never get to do it now that she was hurt? Letting out another sadden sigh the molly shook her head as she awkwardly rolled onto her back her frown rather apparent.
"I. am. so. bored." She huffed rather loudly her tail twitching slightly.

She was relieved to see Laurelkit perk up in her presence. If being here made her even a smidge happier, it made the trip all the more worth it in Cosmokit's eyes. When her friend nudged her and teased her for what she did in her spare time, the tortoiseshell kitten vehemently shook her head. "Time spent with family is enjoyable free time!" She insisted, a soft pout bulging her lips.
Teasing aside, her friend seemed genuinely bothered by her sprained paw. When Laurelkit told her that it still hurt, Cosmo's pout turned into a genuine frown. It must really suck not being able to play because you got hurt, she thought to herself. Seeing the grey molly as one of her own blood since their families were so close, she felt a tug on her heart as though she were listening to her own littermate telling her how sad she was.
"I'm fine!" Cosmopaw responded with a quick, light dismissal as she got to her paws, clearly focused on helping her friend. "Wait here," she said, as if Laurelpaw could comfortably get up and leave on her own anyway. The little main coon kitten darted away and out of the nursery. She was gone for a minute or two before she reappeared, a ball of moss in her jaws. Grinning, she dropped it and nosed it in Laurelpaw's direction. "You still have one good paw, right? Here's a game we can play without too much trouble."

Hearing a rather familiar voice the molly begun to perk up a bit, perhaps she didn't have to be so bored in the nursery all alone, her siblings out playing as they normally did. She didn't blame them for it though seeing it was any day before they'd become an apprentice and their once abundance of free time would become next to none the moment they were given their mentors and tasks they'd complete each day. She had wondered who her mentor could be, maybe it would be Silentsmoke, darkbird or even maybe someone else well respected in the clan.
She was rather excited to start her warrior training and spent a lot of her time just thinking who could possibly be her mentor not knowing that none of the warriors would be her mentor as she was destined to spend her time locked away in the medicine cat den. She hated even going in there to get her paw checked if only she really knew what was in store for her in the near future. Letting out a sheepish grin she leaned over a nudged her friend, "Hello there Cosmokit! Whats keeping you in the nursery? You know you should be spending your time enjoying the free time we have before we become apprentices!" She sheepishly said a grin playing on her face.
Hearing the molly ask her about her paw she let out a sigh her ears flattening against her skull, "You know I absolutely hate the fact that I hurt it but I suppose thats what I get for playing rough with Daykit and Nightkit the other day.." She pouted before continuing "It still really hurts and I hate I can't go play now I hate staying in the nursery all day it gets so boring" She whined softly rolling her green hues.
"How are you doing today?" She asked raising her brow as she studied the apprentice her ears flickering as she awaited for her response. There was a part of Laurelkit that worried about her friend Cosmokit, she knew that the feline was most likely worrying about how she could help take care of her siblings and all that she just hoped the molly would take care of herself first before anyone else.

Cosmokit had been busy lately, with helping her parents care for her siblings while her mother prepared to give birth to a new litter of kittens and her father was tasked with keeping the Clan up and running smoothly. The five-moon-old kit had taken it upon herself to be the big sister of her littermates, even if she wasn't technically the oldest when it came to birth order. The tortie cared deeply for her family and she wanted to make sure that her siblings received the attention and love they deserved while her parents got a break from the stress in their lives — if she could assist by becoming the family babysitter, she would do it without hesitation.
Her apprenticeship ceremony was right around the corner but instead of being excited to start warrior training like most kits her age, Cosmokit worried about who in the nursery would tend to her baby siblings when her parents had to prioritize time for their jobs. I could always ask my mentor if they would be willing to spare some time in the day for me to stay in the nursery for a little while, she thought to herself. She didn't know yet who her mentor would be but she hoped that they would understand her feelings for her family enough to be lenient with her.
As she stressed to herself about the changing times in her life, Cosmokit overheard the huffing of another kit nearby. Her navy eyes drifted over to Laurelkit, a molly whom had been born around the same time as herself and her litter. Of course, as they had grown up together, she began to care for Littledove's litter as though they were on the same footing as her own biological siblings. "Hey, Laurelkit," Cosmo greeted with a light and airy tone as she approached the grey she-kit, "How's your paw holding up? Do you need anything?"
