Despite already having an apprentice, Moosestomp had volunteered to train Navy as well. She was a young adult, but she knew nothing of their ways, fresh minded and able to bring new things to the clan. But she was stubborn as hell, thinking that she knew everything there was to know about survival. Chin tilting to gaze at the slender blue marbled beauty, he noted that although she looked confident, she was following his stride. “I know it’s cold out, but bare with me.” Moosestomp smiled apologetically, his dark golden eyes flashing in the dimming light. “This lesson is best taught at night.” He explained, eyes lifting to gaze through the gaps in the naked canopy. The sun was setting, oranges and pinks settling in the west while the rest of the sky was turning a dark navy, small specks of bright white shining through. Snow still covered the ground, his toes cold but it was getting easier and easier to block out the chill. “What exactly do you know about StarClan?” He questioned, keeping his muzzle pointed ahead.
Anyone could live this life, it was nomadic and primal, with the safety in numbers. But that wasn’t why they lived this life, it was because of their ancestors. Their laws. It was a structure that not everyone followed, but rules were always made to be broken. Smiling at her remark, his eyes flickered towards her as he gave a single broad shouldered shrug. “Well. Yes and no.” He hummed, using his muzzle to gesture towards a small hill where the trees seemed to clear out of the way near the WindClan border. “StarClan is made up of our ancestors, Clan life and non-clan life. Other cultures have their own name for it and spot in the sky, but for us it’s StarClan.” He smiled, settling his haunches on the ground, his fluffy bobtail brushing the ground. “Our ancestors are the reason why we are so different from other groups. Why we work so well together because of the laws that were put in place. But we will get to those soon.” Moosestomp promised, tonight his focus was on StarClan.
“Whether you believe in them or not, they are essential to our way of life. So it’s at least resourceful to learn it.” Eyes flashing as he noticed the way she was gazing at him, chin tilting slightly. “Before the clans were even established, we were all divided into groups. Sort of like.. gangs in the city.” He nodded. “Mercilessly killing one another upon sight, stealing food from one another and killing the children of our rivals without a second thought.” Moosestomp frowned, “Our ancestors feared for their kits development and lives from the moment they took their first breath. Couldn’t even trust one another in the same gang.” He sighed, his eyes lifting towards the sky to see the dark navy was shifting to black, the stars becoming much more prominent. “One night, when the moon was full, these groups agreed to meet at a clearing near the edge of this forest. There was a battle, all the gangs were fighting over the right to hunt the forest. Many, many souls were lost. Many cats were broken, leaving their physical bodies and entering the mystical plane. When the remaining souls realized what had happened, they found themselves surrounded by the spirits of their slain kin. No longer bloodied and broken, but glowing like fallen stars. The survivors were terrified, never before had they seen the spirits of their kin.”
Tilting his head, he drew roughly five circles in the snow, although it wasn’t completely accurate of the territories the point would come across. “The spirits provided visions of the future, which only solidified the upcoming death and ruin of their kits, they knew the fighting had to end. ‘Unite or die.’ The spirits said, giving their final warning. Five cats- Shadow.” He paused, using a toe bean to draw the symbol for ShadowClan in a circle. “River, Wind, Thunder, and Sky.” He proceeded to draw the symbols for each clan. “Stepped forward, claiming that they could individually unite the forest with their strengths. Our slain spirits spoke, ‘The forest is big enough to feed all your families and many more. You must each find cats that share your strengths and beliefs, choose a home in the forest, and set down your borders.’ At that exact moment, the full moon broke free from the clouds, revealing a circle of starlit cats surrounding the survivors and the edge of a clearing.” He explained, drawing a larger circle in the snow that completely encased the five smaller circles.
“One StarClan cat stepped forward, ‘If you do this- we will reward you with eight more lives. So that you may lead your clan for many moons to come.’” He hummed softly, his chin lifting towards the stars above them. “StarClan promised to watch over the clans from the stars, their starry pelts getting swept up in the wind and thrown across the black sky. Creating what we call Silverpelt. The souls of our ancestors.” He used his muzzle to point in the direction of the cluster of stars that streaked across the sky. “The new leaders were promised to be guided in their dreams by StarClan. While also proclaiming that the five clans would meet at that very clearing where they had been slain, to hold peaceful gatherings at every full moon.” Moosestomp lowered his head towards Navy and found himself smiling before shrugging.
“May sound like a kitten story, but the legend goes that StarClan helped fabricate the Warrior code that it is today. I’ll be honest, I don’t expect you to believe in them right away or at all. But they are stitched deeply into the daily life’s of Clan folk.” Moosestomp tilted his big head, ears twitching slightly. “I know it’s a lot, but I’ll answer any questions or doubts that you may have.” He confirmed with a small nod of his head.

Dark golden eyes were gazing up at the sky curiously, trying to depict other formations amongst the stars. Grunting when Navy nudged her shoulder blade against his, giving her the side eye for a moment before he smirked and shook his head slightly. “So there are other names up there?” He asked, but despite his smirk, he was turning his chin to look up curiously towards the stars. Perhaps Scorpio had been recognized for basically populating an entire forest, surely the other stars hadn’t done the same? Tearing his gaze away from the sky once again, he was looking towards Navy curiously as he blurted out the first thing that came to mind. Starclan, he wished instantly that he had bitten his tongue just from the look she was giving him.
Groaning inwardly, pink nostrils flared slightly as he let out a small huff. But he was amused regardless, how many kittens would she have to birth in order to get her own constellation? Although what she did next made his ears pin back against his head and his cheeks flush with embarrassment. Eyes widening as she made it so much worse when her paw began to rub small circles through the dark brown fur on his chest. He. Was. Frozen. Glancing down, he was watching her paw while his heart seemed to have stopped, his cheeks on fire before his eyes suddenly rounded and looked back up at Navy. Fifty kittens!? There was no way in Starclan that anyone could have that many kittens but it wasn’t the number that shocked him so badly. No, it was the grin that appeared on her face as she questioned indirectly if he was volunteering. Lips parting to argue and speak but he was shocked senseless. Just how much class did this female lack to ask such a thing so nonchalant. “Uh..” He managed to croak, whiskers drawn bak to his cheeks.
Was she being serious though..
Moosestomp released the breath he had been holding when she reassured that she had simply been joking. His fur was ruffled nonetheless, cheeks burning as he turned his chin in order to blankly stare at the stars, not a thought in his mind. Although he blinked as she exclaimed, turning his chin to look at her before he cleared his throat and shrugged slightly as his cheeks got even hotter. “Well.. I mean.. It’s not like I would reject that offer. Or what I mean is. I don’t think any male would reject that offer.” He was blubbering, whiskers twitching anxiously. “That sounded bad. We are teacher and student, it just caught me off guard for a second.” Moosestomp shook his head, moving a massive paw to turn her head towards the sky. “Just look at the stars.” He pleaded.

Navy Trainee of Thunderclan Letting out a soft sigh, the blue marble molly shook her head before looking back at the sky. Moosestomp needed to stop being a stick in the mud, he needed to learn how to let loose and have some fun. As she explained the story, the smaller feline knew that Moosestomp was possibly looking at her as if she grew another head. A grin appeared on her face when turning to look at the larger tom, as she was right. While Navy was only a couple of moons younger than Moosestomp, it seemed like her companion was wiser in age. Nodding her head in satisfaction, Navy nudged her shoulder against his “Yup, that’s the story of Scoripo and his family… It’s a nice one, although I have to remember some of the tales that my mother spoke of for another time.” She promised him, looking at the brown tom with a smile on her face. The molly could care less what others thought about their relationship, although she was quite a smart ass with Moose.. She generally enjoyed his company and always wanted to be around the wise and gentle tom.
Raising an eyebrow at Moosestomp’s question, she could see the amused look in his golden eyes while Navy let out a soft scoff. So he wanted to be a wise guy? Two can play at that game. Rolling over until she was on her side, the blue marble molly looked at him for a moment before a smirk appeared on her face. Placing her small paw on his chest, Navy began rubbing circles within his chest “Well.. Scorpio had about 42 kits, he and his mate started very young.. Which gave them plenty of time.” The molly said, watching as Moosestomp was watching her paw on his chest with a shocked expression on his face. Letting out a mere shrug, Navy looked down at her companion and grinned “I’m aiming to outdo Scoripo by having.. 50 kits.” she said, dramatically as she began to look up at the constellation. Looking back at the tom, a grin appeared on her face “Is someone volunteering themselves?” Navy teased, enjoying that Moosestomp on at loss for words at the moment. “I’m just messing with you, it would be impossible to birth 50 kits.” Navy said, her paw from his chest coming back towards her own as the molly rolled back until she was laying on her back once more. It was amusing to see him looking like a deer in the headlight, serves him right after deciding to be smart with her. Looking back at the stars for a moment, she noticed that he was speechless and Navy’s blue eyes narrowed for a moment and let out a groan “Oh Goddess, Moosestomp I know that you’re not mute.. Speak!” The blue marble molly spoke before turning to look towards him. What an odd tom, were all the clan cats like him? Awaiting his response, Navy knew that she wasn’t going to hear the end of him when his brain decided to work and go off about ‘responsibilities’ and ‘rules.’

He sighed in defeat as she turned those wild blue eyes on him and questioned if she had called this a date, the tip of his tail twitching anxiously. “Well, I mean you didn’t. But if someone walks up on us, they will have a different idea.” Moosestomp muttered worriedly, things were already tense with his brother getting his nine life’s from Starclan. He didn’t need his clan mates thinking he was making a move on the new trainee. It was absurd. Brows pulled together in slight annoyance as she said if she hadn’t cared enough about the lesson, then she would have left. He wasn’t sure if that was a compliment or not but he sighed and shook his head. “Thanks..” He grumbled slightly, letting out a sigh from his nostrils while his dark golden gaze flickered up towards the sky before he cringed. Handsome?
Turning to express his dislike, she gave him a look, as if he had grown another head. Was it so bad to be called handsome? Maybe not, but it sure felt odd coming from her, narrowing his eyes at her before he gave a small shrug to her counter offer. He stayed silent though, deciding that he would not be the one to add more fuel to the fire while his eyes gazed up at the stars. So this was stargazing? Curious about her own culture, he questioned her about the stars high in the sky. What did the rogues believe? Grunting as she bumped his shoulder, giving her a bland look before she began to explain what they called the shapes in the sky. Eyebrow arching as she said the strangest word he had ever heard. Constellations? That was mouthful.
Arching an eyebrow curiously as she began to tell a story about a cat named, Scorpio. Chin tilting slightly before his cheeks suddenly warmed when she grabbed one of his paws to point him in the direction of this supposed constellation. “Mhm.” He mumbled, having a hard time focusing with her being so close to his side. He was discovering that Navy did not understand the concept of personal space. Licking his lips wile imaging just how many kits this particular tom had to have in order to have his own constellation. “This is the story?” He asked, finding it be even more ridiculous than the history of StarClan. She finally released his paw, but he was gazing up at the particular constellation. “So… How many kits would you have to have to get your own constellation?” He questioned, appearing amused as he turned to look at her.

A soft snort escaped the blue marble molly’s nostrils, her dark blue eyes were narrowed when looking at Moosestomp, he was quite an airhead sometimes. “Did I say this was a date?!” Navy snapped, as she looked back up at the sky and pretended to ignore him with his shuttering words. The molly couldn’t help but notice the tom seemed a bit flustered when speaking, and it made her smile a bit. Moosestomp was quite adorable when he got shy towards her. Letting out a mere sigh, she turned to her side and rested her head on her foreleg. Navy looked at him before releasing a sigh “Silly Moose, I was listening to you.. If I wasn’t, I would have merely left, you should know me well by now” Navy said, looking at him with an unimpressed look. Geez, he was quite a complicated tom. The molly secretly enjoyed his company, but sometimes he just didn’t know how to let loose and have fun.
“Oh my stars.. I can’t.” Navy muttered, letting out a small groan of frustration as Moosestomp was telling him that it was unflattering that she was calling him handsome. Feeling her marbled fur mingling with his two-toned brown fur, she couldn’t help but roll her eyes “Do you want me to call you ugly then?” She questioned, giving him a pointed look as Moosestomp was silent for a moment and Navy let out a small Hmph before looking back at the stars. Their personalities certainly clashed, her more outspoken one clashing with his mellow one. But Navy was thankful that she had someone watching after her like Moosestomp, he drove her crazy, but she was glad to have him around.
“Oh?” She questioned, surprised that he wanted to know more about what she knew. Navy grinned and bumped her shoulder against his own “Alright Moosey, get this!” The young molly said, excitement in her tone as Navy began explaining “Alright, so we call them the Constellations.. Which are a bunch of our ancestors but they like to form into special shapes as a way of staying together.. For example..” Navy said, grabbing the tom’s larger paw and looking at the sky for a moment until finding the one that she’s been looking for and using his paw to draw the constellation “There’s this cat named Scoripo, who fathered many children with his mate.. One would say that he strikes like a Scorpion, you wouldn’t be able to see him until it was too late.” Navy explained as she began telling the tale that her mother told her all those years ago when she was merely a kit.
“So Scoripo passed away, but he would always welcomed his children and mate when they passed.. Not wanting to be away from his family as they were all incredibly close.. So Scoripo and his entire family make up that Scorpion looking one there.” Navy said, releasing his paw when she finished drawing the Scorpio Constellation. A soft smile appeared on her face when merely shrugging when turning to look at her in amazement and Navy looked back at the stars “I hope to get my own Constellation one day, I think having one named Navy would be extremely badass and cool.” Navy said, as she was quite curious.. How does one get a Constellation named after them?

Navy was a ball of fire, her personality was loud and sassy, unafraid to speak her mind in the moment. But Moosestomp was patient, brushing out her whips and lashes of her tongue, letting them her retorts fall on deaf ears. As he spoke of the ancestors that the Clans held so dearly to their hearts, he could see that she was bored and unimpressed but he didn’t expect much of anything else. He imagined it was a hard concept to grasp from felines who didn’t have StarClan bred into their blood in order to find it interesting. His smile disappeared as she asked why he was a nerd, one corner of his lips lifting in a disappointed smirk as he blew out a huff of air from his nostrils. “Not what I was hoping you were going to ask.” Moosestomp muttered dramatically, dark golden eyes narrowing at the expression she held on her face. Appearing surprised at her rude comment, his eyes widening slightly and his tuft ears twitching. “This is not a date, Navy.” He said rushed, almost like he was flustered.
“This was a training session, one that you clearly didn’t listen to.” Moosestomp glowered, watching as she walked towards him, clearing having caught him off guard as she managed to push him down. Her paw digging into his side as she forced him down onto the ground, laying on his side with an eyebrow arching with inquiry as she used her toes to gesture he lay on his back. “What exactly are you doing?” He asked, ears against the back of his head while his cheeks heated. At times like this she was bit unnerving, her wild personality clashing with his mellow outlook on life. She quickly flipped down on her back beside him, her blue marbled fur mingling with his two toned brown pelt. Grunting he pressed his paws against his chest, feeling awkward with having an apprentice pressed so close to his side as his eyes lifted towards the sky as she gestured towards the star. “Don’t call me handsome, it’s unbecoming.” Moosestomp flushed, keeping his gaze away from her.
Instead his golden gaze were looking upon the twinkling stars that shimmered against the ink black sky. Finally mustering the strength to look at the she-cat he frowned as he didn’t seem to understand the point of laying on ones back to gaze at the stars. Were they going to move? “Stargazing?” He asked with hesitation, clearing unimpressed when she punched his shoulder. Frowning faintly before he turned his chin and looked towards the stars once more. “Alright, Miss Attitude. What do you call the stars then?” Moosestomp asked, unable to stop himself from looking over at her curiously.
Navy
Trainee of Thunderclan
Ever since joining Thunderclan, Navy always wondered why Moosestomp took such an interest in her and asked Gravelstar if he could train her. If she was being honest, she wanted to slap the brown tom into next week when he woke her up at dawn this morning. Crazy cult cat and his stupid training methods, did he have any other hobbies but to bother her peace of mind? Grumbling under her breath as the tom led her through the forest, why couldn’t this wait til morning? “I swear, you’ve been driving me crazy with ‘Navy, you’ve got your stance wrong.’ all day today.. Now you’re bringing me out here at night?!” She questioned, but made no move to turn around camp as she caught up instead with the tom. The blue marbled molly thought that her companion was annoying, but he was also quite a unique cat.. Something she hadn’t seen before. It wasn’t until she let out a long sigh at his question, so this was their lesson for tonight.. A lesson about spiritual ancestors.
“All I’ve known about Starclan is that they’re a bunch of ghostly cats within the sky.. Watching over you or something like that.” She muttered, as she was trying to remember the information that Navy was given earlier. There wasn’t much spiritual belief in her, as her mother didn’t have any belief systems and taught her kits the same. Now if one of these ghostly cats did appear out of nowhere, Navy would believe in them (She would also attempt to throw paws at them as well if they wanted to fight her) “I’m assuming that you’re going to give me another lesson.. I only ask that you don’t wake me up at dawn since you decided to keep me up this late.” The molly mumbled, she was annoyed but it seemed like her companion didn’t even mind as he went straight to speaking about Starclan, and the history of the clans.
Moving towards the brown tom, Navy took a seat right beside him and wrapped her tail neatly around her paws. Her dark blue gaze watched the tom as he was beckoning his head towards the direction of the stars and was explaining in depth about the start of the clans. Navy’s ears perked as she listened, but she carefully observed him as well. It seemed like the tom was very interested in clan life, but then again the molly heard rumors about how uptight his family was and were strictly raised within the warrior code. It wasn’t until she let out a small sigh of relief when he finished speaking, her tail flicking impatiently and it wasn’t until he looked back at her. It seemed like he wanted to see if she had any questions after that insanely long lecture. Narrowing her blue eyes, she turned to look towards the tom and released a snort when the large warrior looked at her with a soft smile
“Yeah, why are you such a nerd?” She questioned, rolling her eyes as Navy wasn’t impressed. If he was like this with his trainees, she couldn’t imagine what he was like in his personal time. “Geez, if you’re like this during dates.. You need to step up your game, otherwise you’ll cause a female to fall asleep within seconds.” Navy said, letting out a sigh. Suddenly going up, her smaller paw went towards his side and shoved him to the ground until he was laying on his back. Navy moved until she laid down beside him and both cats were laying on their back looking at the stars “You poor handsome thing, learn to live a little.” The blue marble molly said before turning towards him with a cheeky smile on her face before punching him lightly in the shoulder
“We’re going to do a thing that you perhaps don’t know about.. It’s called Stargazing, you do that when you’re wanting to have fun.” 628bff
