darkpelt
thunderclan warrior
━━━━━━━━━━━
Paws thrummed rhythmically along the forest floor. A she-cat raced from Thunderclan's camp, toward the Shadowclan border. No matter how many times she did this, her heart still fluttered in her chest and her excitement bubbled up inside like a flame ready to erupt. Her eyes were light, and her lithe body twisted and turned around the trees she had so expertly learned to weave her way around. She followed the familiar trail, slowing as she reached the border, her pawsteps dropping to a light canter, and then to a full stop.
Whiskers twitching anxiously, her ears were pricked and alert as she waited for the arrival of her mate. Snakedusk was always so loyal and dutiful, he had another mate in Shadowclan, and yet he just wouldn't give up seeing her. It was like he too couldn't forget those moons they spent not knowing if they would make it back to their clans alive. She knew she shouldn't feel this way about the Shadowclan tom, but it was far too late for that.
Willowpaw was also on her mind, her beloved daughter she had given up due to her own ambitions, who nobody knew she had kitted except she, her sister, and Snakedusk himself. Hearing a twig snap, the she-cat's head snapped around and she scanned the undergrowth on Shadowclan's side of the border.
"Snakedusk...?" She called, softly, hope overflowing through her every word.

Shadowclan Warrior
Looking at his mate, Snakedusk could easily see that the molly was pleased with his answer. He wasn’t sure how it would work out between having a litter of kits that possibly wouldn’t know that he was their father, but he also remembered that’s how Darkpelt felt with Willowpaw. Their relationship was a tricky one, one that Snakedusk wished that there was a way for them to be together without any borders or rules. Sure, there would possibly be a day in which Snakedusk was forced to choose between his two mates, as having a paw in each world would eventually come back to haunt him.
But he didn’t have to worry about that now.
“I hope we end up with a mini-you” Snakedusk said softly, moving towards her until their foreheads touched. Looking at her with such awe in his eyes. It wasn’t until he lowered his head slighly and rubbed his cheek against hers. Truth be told, Darkpelt deserved way better than him. Snakedusk always felt nervous, that one day that she would get sick and tired of the long distance relationship.. That she was tired of him, and eventually break things off and moved on. Call him selfish, but Snakedusk didn’t want to lose her.
“Come on.. I wanna go hunting, like we used to” The dark tom said, his eyes lit up in amusement. Snakedusk enjoyed spending time with Darkpelt, always cherishing the time with her. Letting her lead the way, Snakedusk stopped them for a moment before a small smile appeared on his face as he nuzzled into the black molly with a low purr rumbling in his throat. Stars. He loves her. Flicking his tail in content, Snakedusk pulled back as he began following her.
“Darkpelt?” He asked, watching her turn back to look at him. A soft smile appeared on his face, thinning of his next words carefully. It wasn’t until Snakedusk spoke quietly “I would for us to discuss some kits names after” He said, which caused the small molly to smile widely. It wasn’t until Darkpelt led them away from the territories and into the darkness.

Darkpelt
Thunderclan Warrior
It wasn't a relationship that Darkpelt had thought would last. She had expected over the moons for Snakedusk to abandon her, waking up and realising that he had loyalties that were more important than his cross-clan lover. However, it was a relationship that Darkpelt knew was meant to be. That was what made her more than certain that she wanted more kits with her mate. The love of her life. She knew that Lilymoon would have accepted the fact she had moved on, she had come to terms with that before she had even met Snakedusk. She wondered if her former mate looked down upon Willowpaw, and guided her paws into becoming a great warrior.
But as she proclaimed her desire for another litter of kits, she watched as her mate's brows furrowed and he tensed. Her mouth felt dry, as she wondered desperately if she had spoken too soon, if he had suddenly changed his mind about being with her- the fear that shot through her veins like pure ice made her heart flutter anxiously in her chest. His question, however, calmed her worries just a little.
"I'm sure, love." She mewed. "More sure than I ever was that I wanted to be a warrior." Nothing could stop her from wanting to bring up his kits, no matter what her clanmates thought. As long as he and Juniperbranch were there to support her, everything was okay. A soft, relieved sigh escaped the she-cat as his nose touched her head, and she leant into his touch as if it would be the last time they ever met. Her tail twined with his, as she pressed their pelts together.
"If they have a problem with it, then that is on them." She mewed, but her gaze grew sad when she continued. "I just can't leave Thunderclan, I don't think I could be at home in Shadowclan, as much as I would love to be close to you and Willowpaw..." She pressed her face against his neck with a sharp inhale, breathing in his scent. "I was born and raised there, I worked so hard to become a great warrior...I'm sure you understand, love. If being a single mother to my clanmates is what it takes to bring up more of your kits, so be it." There was a determination in her eyes as she gazed up at him. "I can think of worse things to be labelled as."
Snakedusk
Shadowclan Warrior
Looking at his mate with pure adoration, he never saw Darkpelt as a side piece or a second option.. No, he loved both mates equally. However, it was hard for Snakedusk to be living two completely different lives.. Living a life in Shadowclan with his other mate and daughter while having another mate in Thunderclan. Some would probably assume that he was a player or inconsiderate.. That he knew nothing about loyalty, but Snakedusk’s heart yearned for Darkpelt, how he was so desperate for her to join Shadowclan.. But there would be so many consequences with that action, and both felines wouldn’t be respected the same way again if their relationship went public.
“Willowpaw is good, she’s been impressing Mercuryrose a lot as of lately.. She reminds me so much of you” Snakedusk mumbled, bumping his head softly into her side with a gentle purr. Oh with how much he wishes that Darkpelt and Willowpaw could be together. But for now, it would be best for the heritage of Willowpaw’s true mother to be a secret.. Perhaps one day she would know when the time was right. His ears perked up in interest, judging by his mate’s facial expression, she was excited about something. What was going through that head of hers now? “You ok love?” He questioned, and it wasn’t until Darkpelt had spoken about wanting more kits that made his body slightly tense for a moment and eyebrows furrowed.
“You what?” He questioned, making sure that he heard her correctly. Snakedusk looked at her for a moment before biting the inside of his cheek. While he was ready to have another litter with Darkpelt, but there were many questions involved. How would she use as the ‘father’ of her kits in Thunderclan? Would they know about him growing up like he planned on telling Willowpaw one day? Letting out a small sigh, Snakedusk nodded “I would love more kits with you too, love, but this is absolutely something that you want?” The warrior questioned, looking at her with a soft exprsssion. Making sure that it wasn’t a wrong message that he didn’t want kits, he leaned to rest his nose on her head “I just hate the idea of you being labeled as a single mother in your clan, when you have me” Snakedusk mumbled, as his mate didn’t deserve that.

for a moment, doubt had welled up in the she-cat's mind... had snakedusk finally decided that he wanted to leave her? that he was too loyal of a shadowclan warrior to keep seeing his thunderclan mate? familiar pawsteps easily quashed the anxiety, until at last her mate appeared in her view. breathing in his woodsy scent, she wound around him, face pressing against his neck as she exhaled a sigh of relief.
"i missed you too..." she purred, leaning up to rasp her tongue over his ear. "how is willowpaw?" it was always her first question, she had to know how their kit was doing. "how is she coping with being an apprentice now?" she could tell her daughter may have some teething problems, she did too at her age, but she hoped that there was nothing too bad...
"i miss her, and you...always." she murmured, her muzzle resting on his shoulder, pressing close to share his warmth in an attempt to combat the cold chill that surrounded them. "now that she's an apprentice..." she started,
"don't you think it would be nice to have more kits?" the other warriors sometimes teased her for being broody, but she couldn't deny any longer that she knew she wanted more kits with her love. no other cat understood the love that they shared. the moons of horror they had survived, together, never knowing if they would see their clans again.
"we had such a beautiful kit in willowkit, i just know another litter would be even more perfect." hopeful amber eyes fixed on the tom, as a purr rumbled in her throat.
Snakedusk
Shadowclan Warrior
The dark gray tom bit the inside of his cheek as he watched Shadestep making her way towards Willowpaw, feeling slightly guilty. Snakedusk had to make another excuse for why he was really leaving camp. This time it was because Mercuryrose asked him to check for any signs of the avalanche approaching. It was a good reason, but Snakedusk could only go long enough until his mate would figure out that it was all lies, that he snuck off to meet with Darkpelt instead of tending towards these ‘important duties’
Letting out a small sigh, the large gray warrior left camp and quickly made his way towards the Thunderclan border. Darkpelt and himself had arranged a meeting after a brief encounter within one of his border patrols the other day, Snakedusk was excited to see her. It seemed so long ago since they had been trapped together, finding love and comfort with each other during those tough times. He didn’t expect to fall in love with her, but it happened. It was heartbreaking to let her go back to Thunderclan, especially becoming mates.. But he had to respect her choices as Snakedusk had another sticky situation at his paws.
He had another mate in Shadowclan.
It was hard having a double life, but he loved both she-cats so much that it was worth it to him. In a perfect world, Snakedusk would live happily with both mates co-existing but that wasn’t possible. He knew that Shadestep would make him choose between her and Darkpelt and he couldn’t find it within him to choose. Hearing his mate’s voice, his eyes lit up as he bounded towards the source of noise and Darkpelt came into view. Letting out a loud purr, he went towards the dark tabby “Darkpelt!” He said happily, before quickly making his way towards his mate and nuzzled into her “I missed you, so much” Snakedusk whispered to her, enjoying her scent and touch as he embraced her.
