Desertrain quietly followed the patrol her mother had organized and listened to her clanmates chatter away as they made their way through Windclan territory. Ever since there had been multiple bodies sighted, the golden leader had become even more dedicated to keeping her clan safe, from strict curfews to not allowing groups of less than four to go out on patrols. Desertstar figured it’d be harder for the killer to pick anyone off if there were more eyes to watch each other’s backs, which so far was working because there hadn’t been anymore deaths.
Sighing, Desertrain affectionately bumped into Cactusbloom’s shoulder with her head, deciding to check in on her sister. After all, she’d been one of the less fortunate warriors to discover a body, and any sane cat would naturally feel a little shaken by that. “H-how are you feeling?” she asked in the quietest of tones, concern softening her gaze.
Cactusbloom
Windclan Warrior
The gray Bengal was silent as she was padding along Windclan territory, her light green eyes were looking at the ground. The fall breeze had caused her short fur to flow gently. A lot had been on her mind as of lately, when it wasn’t facing the aftermath of Sandadder’s rebel against her clan, it was discovering the bodies that the Ripper had murdered. There were certainly days in which the small gray molly would like to hide in her nest.. But Cactusbloom knew that she had to learn about moving on, especially with having to experience something at such a young age. It wasn’t until feeling a familiar figure brush against her that Cactusbloom was startled for a moment until noticing it was her sister.
“Hey Sis” Cactusbloom said with a soft smile, bumping her shoulder against her sister gently. Despite everything that had been happening, she was glad that Desertrain was by her side through it all. Looking behind her, she heard the soft sigh coming from her younger sister and it was her turn to bump her softly “I’m doing okay, You look like a natural! Mom did good with her choice.” Cactusbloom said, glad that her sister was leading the patrol. These days, the small molly was attending therapy sessions with Littlewoods and spending more time with her family and Lynxtalon. Her best friend had been supporting her through every step, and she couldn’t lie.. But her feelings for him had grown stronger since both of them were apprentices.
But she figured that Lynxtalon only wanted to be friends, but the little promise they had made.. If they didn’t have mates or kits with anyone else as they grew older.. They would grow a family together instead.
Cactusbloom couldn’t help but wish that promise would become a reality one day.
Facing life and death certainly changed a feline, Cactusbloom definitely had different kind of priorities now. Shaking her head slightly to clear her mind, she looked towards her sister with a grin “Where to today?” Cactusbloom said, looking at Desertrain and Littlewoods, hoping it wasn’t anywhere near water. The gray Bengal became more weary of water after Sandadder attempted to drown her and Desertrain in front of their mother.
Littlewoods
Windclan Medicine Cat
The medicine cat had been instructed to not go out alone to gather herbs ever since the appearance of the Ripper within their own clan. He didn't mind that. In a way, he was glad to have company...as well as extra paws to carry back more herbs. With leafbare fast-approaching, the medicine cat needed all that he could get. He brought up the rear of the group, sniffing around at the base of trees and roots to pick out the herbs from between the undergrowth. Every now and then, he paused to nip a few stems, and add them to a growing bundle in his mouth.
He would quickly start trotting to catch up to the patrols once he was satisfied he had grabbed enough, looking at his gaggle of warriors, his concerned gaze flicking to the sisters who were talking to each other in hushed voices. He shouldn't interrupt. He turned his gaze to one side, trying to avoid listening into their private conversation.
