Cloudedstone's fur was soaked down to his skin, the large fluffy white and gray tom had slipped out of Skyclan Camp for some peace and quiet. He wanted to go down to the beach besides the falls, next to Riverclan territory to watch the sun shimmer across the waves like silverpelts stars shimmer within the eventide canvas of a night's sky. However, that required crossing a river, an unfortunately Cloudedstone wasn't as graceful as most other clanners believed Skyclanners were. Therefore, he slipped on the ice and cracked the surface, and halfway fell through, leaving his hindquarters drenched. He could feel the chilling bite of the wind breeze across his flank, the stinging scrape of a dog's fangs, he shivered as he trotted along towards the falls. Once he finally emerged upon the sandy shore, his white pelt a stark contrast against the tan sand coating the coast, he came to settle into an alcove a few feet away from the falls and the vast ocean to avoid being sprayed by the chilled waters. He sat there, his gaze shimmering with the wonders of the unknown, as he watched the sun slowly sinking down into the waves. The surface of the waves glistened with a pink and red glow, quite the romantic scene, if Cloudedstone had to put it into words. The tom inhaled deeply, taking in the wafting aroma of the ocean, salt and chill, but something so sweet as well. He exhaled and then twitched his tail, he let his gaze wander until caught sight of some flowers growing out of the cracks of the cliff face beside him. He blinked as he stared at them, it was a cluster of pretty pink and purple flowers, and as he stared at them, he felt his heart skip a beat or two. He knew exactly what these flowers were, he often had bellyaches as a kit due to a sensitive stomach, he had long since outgrown- and therefore he often had to lap up several of them at a time. They were mallows. "Mhnnn I haven't seen mallows in a while, I should take these back to Speckledmoss when I return to camp."
He muttered to himself, before casting his gaze back out into the ocean. Wondering what may lie beyond the rolling waves, just out of sight.
“This just so happens to be my favorite spot in our territory, shame it has to be on the border, this could cause some problems with Skyclan and Riverclan if my scent starts to leak out into your territory. I love watching the sun from here, the glint of its rays against the rippling waves always soothes me.” Cloudedstone replied, a smile stretching itself across his maw as his eyes shimmered with the sparkling of the waves, “I finished patrolling hours ago, right now I’m just here to sit and ponder about the future and where my life will lead.” The tom took up a paw and licked it several times, before drawing it over his ear. “I have been rather well, and yes I am pleased to announce I have earned my warrior name.” He stood up and puffed up his chest with pride. “My name is now Cloudedstone, I was given that name for being as sturdy as a stone in face of adversity. ironic, though, how it clashes with the softer sounding part of cloud in my name.” He couldn’t help but chuckle at the little pout that crossed over Mallowpaw’s maw. “I know it seems that warriorhood takes forever to get here, but I promise you’ll have your name before you know it. Mhnnnn I wonder what it shall be?”
The tom took a second to ponder the possibilities.
“Mallowsun perhaps, your eyes are a beautiful golden hue, or maybe Mallowbloom? For your quiet and gentle demeanor. Or even Mallowmarsh, for your pristine white fur?” He rambled off the names, coupling them with compliments. Which were genuine, because Mallowpaw truly was a good-looking tom in his own right.
“Well, you’re just a slight younger than me, so it won’t be long now. I would love to learn of your new name once you’ve gained it.”
