it wasn't very often that sorrel travelled this far away from The Lost's territory. however, it got so overwhelming at times in the outskirts. today, he had been relieved of his teaching duties, as tulip had been borrowed by her mother to spend some quality family time with she and her littermates. this left sorrel to do whatever he pleased for the day. and so, he had simply allowed his paws to take him wherever they took him. and they had taken him to a beautiful waterfall. the patchy, tall tom sat at the base of the falls, his eyes staring up as the water gushed and glittered in the soft moonlight.
awe was written across his face for a moment, as his lips curled up into a serene smile. the tom was oblivious to the fact he was on clan territory. or, more accurately, he didn't care. it was silly, he thought, to punish him purely because he was here to watch the way the water ran from the falls. he thought back to moon and starlight, the two kits who lived with The Lost, who seemed wise beyond their years. he knew the two kits would like this place... he wanted to bring them here one day. he knew they were destined for something greater than just living among the lost.
he wondered if he could maybe convince a clan cat to take them in.
as he stared down into the pool at the bottom of the falls, his ears twitched as he started to hear distant pawsteps approaching him. standing more upright, his tail flicked as he put on his friendliest smile, awaiting the approach of this mysterious cat.
"No need to be so crass." The tom said, his voice smooth like golden honey. He flicked his tail as he stood, his tail upright and his lips still curled into that curious smile. It was as if the tom was entirely oblivious to the fact that this she-cat could hurt him, badly, if she wanted to. Instead, he took note that she had mentioned 'Starclan'. That must mean she was a clan cat! A purr rumbled in his throat, loosely, as he opened his mysterious, leaf-green eyes.
Staring levelly at her, his unique, earthy-patchouli scent strong against the clean air that surrounded the falls. He was clearly no clan cat.
"I'm just a wandering cat. I'm not here to cause any harm. I'm looking for the clans." He mewed, standing his ground easily as the she-cat stepped toward him. "And, to admire these beautiful waterfalls. Can't a cat enjoy the land in peace, hm?" Flicking his ears, the tom turned to face the water again, dipping a paw into the water and swilling it with his paw.
"I won't steal any prey, if that's what you're worried about. I'm pretty useless at hunting." ...It was true, he would much rather sit and wait for the prey to come to him, stalking was just so difficult. At times, trying to hunt made him wonder if he truly should have been Phoebe's apprentice still. Glancing over his shoulder toward the she-cat again, he winked.
"Name's Sorrel."
