Mercuryrose
Shadowclan Deputy
If there was something that Mercuryrose didn’t like doing, it was staying at the same place for a long time. Of course, the deputy loved staying in the nursery with her children and mates.. But, she had felt a bit of unease as of recently when Leopardkit had started showing signs of asthma. Thankfully Waspsight had been supervising the silver bengal kitten to ensure the youngest one of the litter was still healthy.. But Mercuryrose was still worried, she had never faced this kind of situation with her children before.. Her younger brother’s youngest, Tulipshine, had been born premature and developed asthma.. But Orion, Goldenrose and Littlewoods had figured ways to control the rose-gold tom’s asthma without any kind of problems occurring.
Thankfully Waspsight had been doing enough research of breathing problems, so it brought her some comfort. The calico tom had begun doing more research after Hareflight’s heart attack along with consulting with former and current medicine cats about how to deal with heart and lung issues. Her ears perked up at the sound of twigs breaking, her dark green eyes narrowed before turning and stalking towards the direction of the noise.
Who the hell planned on invading her land while she was busy being concerned with her son’s health?
Stalking through the woods, her eyes narrowed as she burst into the clearing and spotted the Windclan’s medicine cat looking back at her with eyes that were wide as an owl. Ah, there was someone useful. “You there!” Mercuryrose said, making her way towards him. Another opinion for her son’s health. Of course she trusted Waspsight with his insight, but she needed to hear everyone’s opinions about this matter.
“You were able to help control my nephew’s ast-” Mercuryrose stated before letting out a soft sigh “Orion’s son, Tulipshine, you helped him.” The deputy said, watching the medicine cat for moment. The large black and rose-gold Maine Coon female gave a small snort for a moment before taking a seat in front of the smaller tom “I need information, how you were able to help Tulipshine control it.” The shadowclan deputy said before rolling her eyes towards him, she needed to help Waspsight with more information if he needed, she was almost tempted to drag the Windclan tom back to camp.
“I need you to tell me, otherwise you’ll be useless to me and I’ll be kicking you out of my territory.” Mercuryrose said bluntly, biting the inside of her cheek.
Littlewoods
Windclan Medicine Cat
Littlewoods always felt awkward when he was visiting the territory of other clans, particularly Shadowclan. It wasn’t that he was concerned about his fellow medicine cats, nor his fellow leaders. It was Shadowclan’s deputy, Mercuryrose who was the one cat among all the clans who did make him nervous to be on their territory. Despite knowing he was doing nothing wrong, he was still startled by the she-cat’s sudden appearance and his ears instinctively flattened, tail lowering to the ground. Once the initial shock had dissipated, the little tom returned to full height and shook himself out. Yeesh, she was one scary she-cat.
He listened to her, not opening his mouth to speak until he was sure she was done. Clearly something had been bothering her, so he needed to hear her out before speaking. That... made sense, she'd seemed concerned. And of course he could help.
“Yes, it did take some trial and error but… It's mostly coltsfoot and juniper berries, but if you add some borage you can help ease the tightness that comes after an episode." Littlewoods sat back on his haunches, curling his tail over his paws as he addressed the Shadowclan Deputy. "If Waspsight needs herbs, I'm sure I can spare some. Asthma can get a little better when kits get older, the more they learn to cope with the breathing difficulties and avoid pushing themselves too far."
He could sense the Shadowclan deputy was worried, so his smile was sympathetic.
"Kits with asthma can still grow up to be perfectly normal warriors when their condition is caught early and managed properly, as you've already seen with Tulipshine."
