Edgefrost
Riverclan Warrior
A small sigh came out of Edge's nostrils, his dark green eyes narrowed slightly as the large Maine Coon was aimlessly wandering around Riverclan territory with no destination in mind. It was quiet right now, just how Edge enjoyed it. He wasn’t in the mood for one of his night flings, rather wanting to enjoy a night to himself while his sons slept peacefully. As of lately, Edgr has done lots of reflecting within his life. The tom had felt like he hadn’t experienced the proper adulthood that he should had experienced due to being mated from the moment he had became a warrior. However, he never regrets his children, they were his entire life. Edge’s boys changed his entire life, making him a better man in general.
How his methods of handling his newfound single life wasn’t the best, sleeping around with females around his clan that would thrown themselves at him. He could easily tell that his friends were trying not to judge him for his actions, but Edge kept his flings away from his children and made sure that his boys’ happiness came first before anything. Letting out a soft huff, Edge found himself suddenly in front of a cave that he had found within his apprentice days of sneaking out of camp at night. There was an opening at the top, the moonlight hitting the stone that laid perfectly in the middle. The large black and gray Maine Coon ended it without hesitation.
Edge’s feathery talk waved back and forth for a moment, before crouching down and leaping forward. His large paws landed smoothly on the rock. His muscular form started to relax when noticing that the cave didn’t have anyone living in it. Good, Edge could start brooding in peace. Stars, he really hoped that none of his children inherited that trait of his. Flopping down on the smooth stone, his back hit the cool gray surface. Dark green eyes were looking at the many stars that were shining within the sky tonight. A frown appeared on his face as the tom was lost in thought for a moment, he hoped that Swanpath wasn’t too disappointed in him.
Figuring that he could at least get a snooze for a couple of hours, Edge knew that he just needed to be back before dawn so none of his kits from the apprentices’ den or nursery knew he had left camp for the night. Closing his eyes for a moment, Edge relaxed at the sound of the crickets and the waterfall falling in the distance. However, everything seems to change after half an hour when suddenly hearing a soft female voice. Edge scrunched up his face for a moment, his ears perked. Refraining from letting out a huge groan, he wasn’t in the mood to deal with anyone. “What the hell? ” Edge muttered quietly, tilting his head up until he was finally met with a pair of blue eyes.
“Rock is taken, Fuck of-“ Edge was starting to say until stopping when looking at her. His mouth opened slighly at the sight of the molly, she was absolutely breathtaking. A low whistle escaped the tom before a boyish smirk appeared on his face “Hey Beautiful” Edge said, his dark green eyes lit up in mischief, as if he didn’t tell this random female to fuck off jusf seconds ago. She had a unique glow to her, Edge was almost memorized with her, until he saw the collar. Arching an eyebrow, Edge looked down at it “Ah, too good to be true.. Had to be a house cat.” He said before narrowing his eyes and looking back up at the sky, ignoring her now.
Iris |The Siren|
She hated that he did not take either of them seriously, they had just wanted to make a home for themselves and instead they were being mocked and ridiculed for how they were brought up. It is not like Iris had chosen the life she lived, but she could now! And no arrogant toerag was going to tell her what she could and could not do! Not anymore! Pursing her lips as she glanced over at her dear friend, Duchess. The feisty Persian molly was not going to back down to Edgefrost either. Though, Iris could not help but wonder what did he have to gain from this? Was this merely just a game for him? Entertainment? Duchess surely seemed to think so and was not afraid to call him out on it. Iris was not so sure, as the few minutes she had been alone with him, she could tell that he would not give anyone the time of day unless there was a hidden meaning.
It was as if Edge could read her mind, his dark green eyes locking with her blue ones once more. Brows furrowing as she takes in his words on not letting the past define your future, begrudgingly his words made sense. If they wanted a fresh start, they needed to show him that they had some potential to become more than what they use to be. Clenching her jaw as her azure and Egyptian blue eyes narrow in determination, she could not back down now, she needed to prove to herself that she was more than just a kitty pet. She was not familiar with fighting, with using her claws to defend herself, but she was willing to learn as she goes in order to make a better life for herself. Iris had not expected to be able to take down the mountain of a tom such as Edgefrost, she just needed to figure out a way to trick him.
First, she needed to observe just how a warrior fights. Running straight towards him, her eyes narrowed in determination, grunting in surprise when he easily sidesteps her, his large paw smacking between her shoulder blades. Gasping in pain as he pins her to the ground with ease. Scowling at his taunting words, even though she was not familiar with the clan terms, she could tell that having an apprentice being able to do better than her meant she was more or less a kit. Squirming, trying to get the big oaf off of her, it was not until Duchess slammed into Edge, knocking him off balance that she was able to hop to her feet. Shaking her cobalt and Carolina blue striped pelt before her attention turns to Duchess as she demands for Iris to make her move.
If it were any other situation, Iris would have laughed at the absurdity of the position Duchess was in, if it weren’t for the seriousness of the situation. Clenching her jaw as she used all her strength and determination as she leaps over Edgefrost, hooking her foreclaws into his shoulders, using her momentum and gravity to her advantage to bring Edgefrost down with her. Luckily Duchess had thrown him off balance and was able to let go of him beforehand. Getting the air knocked out of her lungs as she slams into the ground with Edge falling beside her. Taking in a sharp breath, ignoring the stinging pain as she struggles to her paws. Not wasting another moment before grabbing the mice, panting as she stares down at a bewildered Edgefrost.
Tossing the mice towards Duchess before huffing out, “I believe we had a deal?” Iris breathlessly says with an arched brow. It was a mediocre win at best but she would take it for now.
Edgefrost & Duchess Duchess was looking at Edgefrost as if he had grown another head, was the Maine Coon truly this cruel? Delusional is what Edgefrost was. Letting out a snort of annoyance, the brown and white Persian stalked towards the tom with an unimpressed look “So this is just a game for you? You don’t know anything about us, what we’ve been through.” Duchess hissed at him, her fluffy fur had stood up to make Duchess appear almost twice her size. Edgerost had raised an eyebrow, tilting his head slightly towards Iris before looking at Duchess and let out a small snort “We’ve all got skeletons in our dens, I have too many to count.”
The black and gray Maine Coon said before shaking his head slightly “It doesn’t mean that you let your past affect your present and future.. Everyone can have a fresh start.” Edge said. “But I need to know that I can vouch for you, I hate being wrong.” Edge said, which caused Duchess to think for a moment. The massive warrior was right, even if he was a douchebag. Backing up slightly, Edge looked towards Iris with a nod “Get your dinner back from me, and I’ll bring you to my clan and you’ll start fresh.” The Riverclan warrior promised them, looking at them with an unreadable expression. In all honesty, Edgefrost didn’t have much faith in the two. While he didn’t know their lifestyle or whatever caused them to leave, they weren’t really capable of defending themselves. Hell, even Chanterellefrost could take them down and she was newly pregnant.
Watching Iris for a moment, Edgefrost was ready for her attack as she lunged forward towards him. The black and gray tom quickly stepped towards the side and his massive paw and slammed it into Iris’s shoulder blade, causing her to become pinned on her stomach. “My apprentice knows better than that.” Edge said, rolling his eyes. This was going to be a long night, the Maine Coon had better things to do than testing a bunch of house cats on their fighting skills. It was almost pitiful. I
t wasn’t until Duchess had literally thrown herself at Edge, putting in her full body weight as she let out a gasp of breath when colliding with his muscular body. The black and gray Maine Coon stumbled for a bit which caused Iris to become free from Edge’s grasp. Duchess soon grabbed on to his front leg and bit into it, her claws digging into his side. It was an awkward position but Duchess had certainly got him, because she was certainly hurting him “Get him Iris! I got him by the legs!” Duchess cried out, desperate for her friend to attack him. Edge was giving them a chance, and she didn’t want to mess up on it!
Iris |The Siren|
Iris could sense his gaze on her as he weaves the flowers into the vines. Biting her inner cheek as she forces herself to focus on the weaving and not his soul-piercing gaze. Thankfully the tension that was forming between the two was broken by the shrill voice of her best friend. Eyes widening as she is pushed behind the smaller, yet feisty Persian molly. Iris remains quiet as Duchess becomes protective of her friend, Iris knew better than to try to talk down her best friend at the moment. It took a moment for her dear friend to calm enough to listen to Iris. The steel and cobalt blue tabby Maine coon molly felt that she owed Edgefrost to explain why he was here.
Biting back a smile as Duchess dismisses Edge, not liking his manners one bit. Chancing a glance at Edgefrost, ears twitching at his snort in regards to Duchess’s dismal. Iris could tell that he was not impressed, it was obvious that it took a lot to impress the egoistic warrior. Tensing at the tone of his voice, she was not going to like what he had to say. Her azure blue eyes flickering down to the two small mice before locking with Edge’s forest green ones. Frowning in frustration as he tells them to go back to their old home. He had written them off as a lost cause before they even had time to prove themselves.
Anger flutters within her chest like agitated bees. No, she would never go back to her old life, yes at one point she had believed she had it all. Nice roof over her head, two legs who adored her, but that was not freedom. It was made clear when their owners wanted to force her and duchess into breeding with tomcats they did not know, just so they could carry and give birth to kits for their owners to sell for profit. It disgusted her that she would be used in such a way, to be forced to give up her kits without a say. She did not regret leaving the comforts of the kittypet life. Now she needed to fight for her renown freedom.
“You do not know our story. We may be some pampered spoiled kitty pets to you, but I know our worth and not you or anyone can tell us otherwise” Iris firmly states with a slight hiss to her voice. Brows furrowing as he mentions that he would take them to his clan, but only if they could prove that they had some concept to defend themselves. Lips parting in shock, she was completely flabbergasted at his conditions. How were two recently ex kitty pets suppose to defeat a skilled warrior?! Didn’t one train for moons or years to acquire such skill? The nerve of this guy! Eyes narrowing as she studies the calm and relaxed posture of the black and grey Maine Coon. Iris speculated that he did not believe they would accept the challenge.
He wanted them to hightail it out of there, to admit defeat before trying. Scowling as she takes a deep breath to quell her rising nerves. “All we got to do is get the mice from you?” Arching a brow at the cocky warrior. Challenge accepted. Without a moment’s hesitation Iris lurched forward. One goal in mind: beat him!
Edgefrost & Duchess The large Maine Coon’s dark green eyes were mainly focused on the flowers that were intertwining within the vines, a skill that Dahliapetal had forced him to learn. Edge looked over at Iris, which caused him to almost mess up on his latest knot. Despite the smaller Maine Coon molly being annoying, she was actually breathtaking to look at. The way that her soft features danced along the moonlight, her blue eyes were shining like the million stars in the sky. The black and gray Riverclan warrior’s mouth felt dry at the moment, as if he had nothing to say. Hearing the loud gasp had caused the larger tom to quickly draw his attention towards the direction of the entrance of where Duchess was at.. The cream and brown Persian looked anything from happy, in fact she looked very furious. “Woah ther-” Edge began once spotting the smaller molly storming towards him, and she quickly brought Iris behind her. “Stay away from her!” Duchess exclaimed, her soft and long fur stood up and her tail was much puffier. The small Persian looked towards her best friend to see if there were any injuries, but luckily there wasn’t anything. Good, the caveman didn’t hurt Iris. Her light brown eyes glanced towards Edge, listening to her best friend's words. Ah, so Edge was one of these clan cats that everyone in the neighborhood spoke of.. If these clan cats looked anything like Edge, they didn’t have to be worried about anything.. The large Maine Coon didn’t look intimidating but full of stupidity. “This one has no manners, he has to go.” Duchess said, raising her head up in the air before turning her back towards him. Edge had let out a small snort before getting up and going towards the small mice that laid near the entrance. A million thoughts were going through his head, mainly if these two house cats would be able to survive the forest.. Hell, they both looked too pampered and Edge felt these two would shriek and run at the sight of actual danger. “If i’m being very honest with you two.” Edge began, leaning down to sniff at the two pieces of mice before narrowing his eyes. Duchess was about to catch the piece of prey because these two mice were too young.. Did they even have enough time to think and run? “You two aren’t cut out for this, I suggest that you both go back home or you find another owner.” Edge said bluntly. Biting the inside of his cheek, he debated if taking them over to the Shadowclan border to see if one of Dahliapetal’s mates, Grizzly, was around. The massive mountain cat was known for rehousing home cats into proper homes.. The black and gray Maine Coon had no idea what happened with their home.. But surely they could find something better than the clans. “You both look like you would run off if you both looked at any drop of blood. Hell, this one would run off if she broke a claw.” Edge beckoned his head towards Duchess, whose eyes narrowed as she tilted her head. “Excuse me?” The small molly hissed, wanting to storm towards the direction of the tom and smack him.. The nerve of this guy!
“I can bring you to my clan, but in one condition.” Edge began, his feathery tail flicking back and forth. The black and gray Maine Coon was going to get a scolding for his next actions, but he needed to make sure that he was correct in his judgment. “You want these two pieces of mice? Prove it.” Edge simply said with an extremely calm voice. If Iris and Duchess wanted to prove to him they were capable of surviving in the woods, to have a new start.. They needed to get through him. If they couldn’t even have the common sense to defeat him and take back their prey, Edge would find and alternate place that was much safer. “If you can’t even take me down, what makes you think that you can survive within the wild?” Edge questioned, raising an eyebrow towards them. Duchess’s eyes widened slightly at Edge’s challenge, her gaze turned towards the beautiful Maine Coon next to her. Were Duchess and Iris able to take down this tom? To seek shelter and start anew? The cream and brown molly awaited Iris’s move, supporting her best friend’s choice and actions.
Iris |The Siren|
Iris could tell that her own snarky attitude was irritating Edgefrost. Smirking internally as she couldn’t help but feel satisfaction that she too could get under his skin. Noticing the large black and gray Maine coon tense instinctively as she moves closer to pull off a stray patch of moss. Tufted ears flick backwards slightly in mild discomfort as his dark green eyes pierce through hers. Momentarily dazed that she barely took note that he uttered a thank you. ‘So this big bad boy does have some manners?’ Regarding the warrior in silence for a moment, she could tell that her previous words had affected him more than she expected. “Mhmm” she hums out to his grunt of thanks. Turning away from him, noticing that she was still staring at him, inwardly scolding herself as she stares at the ground.
Hearing the mild pained and forlorn tone in Edge’s voice causes her to tilt her cranium slightly in his direction. Her blue gaze eyeing him as he turns away stating clearly and somewhat firmly that he never runs away. Biting her lip as she could tell that he was in his own world at this moment. Deciding not to disturb him as she simply listens. Though, from just briefly meeting the rude and stubborn brute, she could tell that he certainly was not the type to give up. Iris lips part in a silent gasp as he continues his simple yet powerful monologue. It made her heart lurch painfully as she could not help but think of those who left her or those she had to leave behind. Blinking away the tears filling her azures blue eyes before he turns around and notices.
Her gaze softens as he awkwardly glanced away before stating he has lives to look after. Iris could not decipher if he had a family or if he was talking about protecting his clan, either way it was honorable. Not that she would ever say that to his face, wouldn’t want his ego to inflate more than it already has. Tensing up as he pads closer to the variety of flowers and vines she had conjured up on her little trip. Was he gonna trample all over them? Toss them away? Mock her for wanting some color and beauty brought into this dingy cave? Azure and Egyptian blue eyes widen as he begins to slowly weave the flowers into the vines. Brows furrowing as she ignores his warning look, “You don’t have to….” Trailing off softly as he explains that his sister had forced him to learn.
It was then she realized that she did not even know how to weave the flowers into the vines. Bashfully moving a little closer to the large dark tom, her gaze focused on the flowers and his paws as he carefully interweaves it together. Even though he had mocked her earlier for acquiring such silly decorations, he was now helping and even teaching her how to weave even if that hadn’t been his intention. Surprise flickering over her delicate features at his rough chuckle, glancing up at him to see a far off look in his green eyes. Wondering briefly what he was thinking before being suddenly taken back by the shrill gasp escaping Duchess. ‘Oh no…’ Iris mutters as she moves away from Edgefrost, ready to explain why he was here in the first place.
Mouth agape as Duchess shoves the larger male away, her elegant voice shrill with anger as she calls him a rat and to stay away. During any other circumstances, Iris would have simply laughed. Yet, could not help but feel as if she owed him a tiny bit of kindness for him helping her with the decorations. Just when she goes to open her mouth, he cuts in. Tensing up in disbelief as he assumed the two were mates, glancing over at Duchess as they both share an unimpressed look. Idiot. “Apparently this cave is not claimed until there is a border around it” Iris softly explains to her dear friend. “He is one of those warriors from those clans” Iris fumbles slightly over her explanation, not use to using such terms. Feeling her cheeks heat up in embarrassment and an unknown feeling as Edge looks over at her. ‘Bird brained?’ Iris huffs as she knows it was more of an insult.
Breaking eye contact with him to glance over at the two dead mice near the entrance. Just seeing the dead mice caused her stomach to growl with want. Biting her lip as he moves closer to them both, eyeing the mice before stating the obvious. Side-eyeing Duchess, knowing she would have a sassy remark. “It will do for now. Later I shall go out and hunt” Iris reassures Duchess, her dear friend couldn’t do all the hunting now can she?
Edgefrost Riverclan Warrior The black and gray Maine Coon couldn’t help but roll his eyes at Iris, she was too spoiled and annoying. Why did Edge end up in this cave out of all places? It hit a nerve when Iris made the snarky comment of running away from his responsibilities, it irked him when others thought about him in that sense. Getting up from a moment and arching an eyebrow when the beautiful blue Maine Coon went towards him to move a piece of moss from his chest, the massive Maine Coon’s dark green gaze remained locked on her for a moment before grunting in thanks and turning away and shaking his head slightly “I never run away.” His deep voice was clear within the cave while Edge sat there in his own thoughts for a moment. Thinking about everything that led him to where he sat today.
“Some leave me.” Edge said, thinking about Dahlia, Aurora, Mercy, Cross and Snowstar. While looking back to look at Iris for a moment, his dark green eyes and facial expression was almost unreadable “Some get left behind.” a couple of images of Maverick, Rose and Night appeared in his head. Walking towards the direction of the open ceiling of the cave and into the starry sky, thinking of the many faces that had joined Starclan “Some died” Edge said quietly thinking about his mother before turning to look towards Iris, noticing her gaze at him. Clearing his throat, the Riverclan warrior shook his head slightly “Not leaving home anyways, got lives to look after.” Edge said, smiling as he thought about his sons.. No matter how incredibly fucked up he was, Edge was glad that his sons didn’t turn out exactly like him.
Looking towards the flowers and vines that Iris collected, Edge moved carefully towards it for a moment before leaning down to sniff at it. The massive Maine Coon sat for a moment before moving the flower and vine together, narrowing his eyes as Iris had a suspicious look on his face.. Edge gave her a warning look before his dark green eyes focused on the beautiful flowers and began carefully starting to woven the flowers into the vine “My sister taught me this recently, I didn’t want to but she threatened to murder me.” Edge said, thinking about Dahlia. Looking at the lilies for a moment, the broody warrior was gentle with handling the situation. A small chuckle escaped Edge for a moment as he thought about this unusual skill, and how he tried getting his older sons to learn it. Galepaw and Sleetpaw had no interest in it while Jaypaw showed a bit. Edge wasn’t sure if his son was just trying to be nice or he liked it.
Looking back, Edge realized he had failed as a father towards his first litter. He was surprised that his sons didn’t hate him, but it was harder to understand Jaypaw and Galepaw because they handled emotions different from him and each other. It wasn’t until a sudden gasp caused Edge to look towards the direction of the cave that caused Edge to arch an eyebrow at the brown and white Persian who dropped two mice in front of her paws. Duchess’ eyes were blazing with anger as the smaller molly began storming towards the direction of the massive Maine Coon “You rat!” Duchess’ voice was extremely posh, very elegant. Shoving Edge away from Iris, her fluffy tail was lashing back and forth. Edge looked at the house cat with an unimpressed look before Duchess stepped in front of Iris with a warning glare “Stay away from her!”
“Alright, don’t get your tail in a bunch.. I wasn’t going to hurt your mate.” Edge said, getting up and returning towards the rock that he was at before. Duchess’ eyes narrowed and scoffed lightly at that, this tom was an idiot. Looking towards Iris, the molly looked for any injuries before turning to look back at Edge. “Would you like to explain why you barged into a den so rudely?” Duchess asked calmly before Edge merely shrugged and shook his head “You two are the most bird-brained felines I’ve ever met.” Edge muttered, rolling his eyes before looking towards Iris with an unreadable expression. What was the tom thinking about? Duchess couldn’t even read him. The massive gray and black tom suddenly got up and got off the rock, going towards the two females and leaning down to sniff at the mice
“This won’t feed you fully, you need something bigger.”
Iris |The Siren|
Iris could not believe the arrogance coming off the tomcat before her, he barely knew her, yet had already made his mind up about her. Just another dumb kitty pet. Pursing her lips as he mocks her, not taking her seriously in the slightest, not that she could blame the black and gray Maine Coon, she was hardly a threat. Feathery tail lashing sharply side to side as she tries to reel in her distaste and aggravation towards Edge, knowing that he wanted to get a rise out of her to put her in her supposed place. Taking a small step backwards as he suddenly rolls onto his stomach, his dark green eyes locking with hers once more. Suppressing a shiver as she scowls at Edgefrost as he pretends to be terrified of her presence, she wished she looked more threatening. Curse her big blue eyes and petite form! “I am not trying to scare you, Jackass! I am telling you that your presence is not wanted” Turning her nose up at Edge ignoring the glare burning her pelt. Was being a kitty pet such a terrible thing? It was not as if it was her choice on how she was raised, but this fella seemed to think so.
Tufted cobalt blue/gray ears twitch backwards at the nickname ‘groupie’, was there really kitty pets that pretended to be wild cats? Odd. Flushing slightly when she notices that he was staring at the flowers and vines she had collected before coming back into the cave. ‘Oh just great! Something else he can mock me on’ Iris thought, she had to refrain from rolling her eyes at just the thought. “No I am not a so called groupie. Just trying to make best out of a stressful situation” she vaguely explained, he did not deserve a more elaborate explanation as she doubted he would care in the first place. She hated the way he was looking at her, it was a mixture of interest and annoyance of her sudden appearance. Pursing her lips at his jab about it being past her bedtime, did she look like a little kit to him? Sure she was smaller than him but her womanly figure and mature features was certainly a dead giveaway otherwise. Deciding to not even comment on his insult as her attention shifts to the small cave like den instead.
Scowling to herself as he comments that in fact that her name was not to be seen anywhere. How childish can he be? Sighing to herself as she simply stares at Edgefrost, she was losing energy being around him. Was the cave even worth it at this point? She could only imagine what Duchess would say if Iris told her that she lost their shelter to a warrior cat. Huffing at Edgefrost, hating his smart comments. “Fine it doesn’t have my name, yet. What you wanting this as your home? Getting tired of the responsible life?” Iris snarks, it didn’t take her long to figure out he was part of the warrior cat group. Groupies who thought they were better than the rest due to their religious views. It surprised her that he hadn’t tried to run her off yet, but figured he loved toying with those who could not physically stand up for themselves. Gosh she hated bullies!
Rolling her blue eyes in exasperation as he continues to talk. Yes, she was now certain he was a warrior cat, but why was he all the way out here? Snapping out of her thoughts as he suddenly rises to his paws upon the rock. His large form suddenly more noticeable and prominent as he shakes out his black and gray fur. Edgefrost was certainly intimidating in size and with his dangerous aura and personality. Not realizing she had been looking at him for a little too long before a cocky smirk appears on his lips. Refraining from bristling in irritation at his cocky response. Instead she smiles sweetly as she pads closer towards him. Ignoring his gaze on her as she leans closer to pick off a stray clump of moss from his shoulder. “You missed a spot” she sasses before moving away from him, hating being so close to him.
Ears flicking in his direction as he reveals his name as well boasting about being a warrior cat and insulting her of her previous status. “You are very full of yourself if you think everyone wants to be like you” Iris simply states with an unimpressed look. Though she had vaguely heard of the clans, not many kitty pets she knew pretended or wanted to be like them. Disbelief easily readable on her face as he had the gall to ask for her name. Like hell she would tell that arrogant toerag anything! “Only my friends know my name. You are most certainly not my friend” Iris states with a smirk of her own. Noticing that he looks mindfully up at the sky, as if he had somewhere to go. ‘Good’. “Now I am sure it’s past your warrior curfew. Wish I could say it was a pleasure meeting you…” Iris shrugs before turning away from him. Her attention returning to the vines and flowers she had recently collected, silently hoping he would be on his way.
Edgefrost
Riverclan Warrior
A smirk appeared on his face, however his eyes remained closed. It was almost cute how Iris thought that she was intimidating him. The black and gray Maine Coon could tell that she was fuming “Careful Beautiful, I can feel the steam coming out of your ears” Edge said cheekily, knowing that he was working her up. It wasn’t until he arched an eyebrow, and soon rolled until the large tom was laying on his stomach while his feathery tail was wrapped neatly around his side. “Oh rats, you got me terrified! Don’t you see me shaking?” Edge said, pretending to shiver before releasing a scoff and narrowing his eyes when looking at the blue Maine Coon. “Trust me Sweetheart, I’ve dealt with much scarier than you.” Edge said, referring to his father and a couple of foes from his past. In all honesty, Iris looked like she couldn’t even swat a fly in time.
“Let me guess, You’re one of the groupies of house cats that go outside and play warriors? Isn’t it past your bedtime?” Edge questioned. Looking at the decorations that were nearby her, the tom looked back at her with an unimpressed look. What was she trying to roleplay as? The medicine cat?. A snort escaped Edge at her words, she was a piece of work. The crickets were softly chirping in the background and it felt like time just stopped within that moment. Edge couldn’t help but become curious of the beautiful blue Maine Coon, who was she? The house cat was so mysterious but unbelievably breathtaking at the same time.
“Oh?” Edge questioned once Iris declared it was her cave, and Edge’s dark green eyes began to scan the area for signs of the area belonging to her. “Well, I don’t see a name carved into the stones anywhere.. As far as I know, it’s free range Babygirl.” The Riverclan Warrior said with a devilish smirk on his face. What was the deal with this house cat anyways, was she lost? Or was she having a rebellious streak because her humans didn’t feed her a good brand of cat food? “Rule one of the wild, Sweetheart.. It’s no-cat land here, no one claims land unless there’s an established border around” Edge said, referencing the clans. Stars, when did house cats get so entitled to everything? This one seemed fearless too, Edge thought about scaring her off but he was raised to respect she-cats so he wouldn’t do something that was messed up.
“This homeless bimbo actually has a home, not that’s a concern for you.. But thanks for caring” Edge said with a half smirk on his face. Rising up to his paws and shaking the dirt that was in his long fur, Iris finally saw the large size that he inherited from his father’s side of the family. Noticing that Iris was looking at him, a cocky smile appeared on his face “Like what you see?” Edge flirted, leaping down the rock and made his way towards her. The large Maine Coon stopped in front of Iris, his dark green gaze taking in her appearance. She was much smaller than him, Iris wouldn’t be able to beat him without proper warrior training. Shit, even Swanpath was able to beat him in sparring and she was small in size too.
“Anyways, my name is Edge.. I’m from that group of wild cats your friends and yourself probably pretend to be.” Edge said, he couldn’t help but roll his eyes at the thought. What a bunch of losers, he hoped that he would never encounter those posers. Sitting down for a moment, Edge arched an eyebrow at her, a small grin appearing on his face “Now, would be nice to know your actual name besides calling you Beautiful or Groupie.” Edge muttered, watching her carefully. Turning his gaze at the sky, he had to become mindful about time as he wanted to be home in time for his sons to wake up and they wouldn’t notice him missing for an incredibly long amount of time.
Iris |The Former Kittypet|
Grumbling under her breath as the small slender Maine Coon molly trenches through the vaguely familiar terrain, her brows furrowed as she could not believe her luck. She managed to get herself lost—once more! Having wandered too far from her cave that her and her best friend had been staying in for the past week. Duchess had went off to find food for them both, even though Iris had suggested them going together, her stubborn friend had reassured her that at least one of them needed to stay at the cave to guard it. Well, Iris had thought that was an idiotic idea and wanted to help out too, so off she has went to explore and hopefully find some useful things along the way. Iris hated remaining in one place for too long, the restless had built inside her from being cooped up within the cave. She had tried to make the dim cave as homey as possible, it was apparent that the blue gray molly was certainly missing her two-leg home. Though, deep down inside she knew that she would never be returning as it was no longer safe for her and her dear friend.
Forgetting the hunger gnawing within her stomach as her attention shifts to gathering items to make the cave their own. Iris needed something to keep her mind occupied, plus she knew the cave was somewhere nearby as she had made sure not to venture too far, she just needed to find it first! Pausing as her azure and Egyptian blue eyes flicker around her surroundings, taking note of certain landmarks that screamed familiar. Smiling to herself as she knew that the cave was certainly close, if she was lucky she could beat Duchess there before the other molly realized that Iris had ignored her. Flicking her steel blue gray and cobalt blue fluffy tabby tail side to side in content, grasping at a few daisies, ferns, and irises along the way to decorate their makeshift home. Fumbling with the decorations within her mouth, trying not to clamp too harshly on the plants as she searches for her hideout. Tufted ears perking up, swirling in different directions as she strains to hear the waterfall that would indicate which direction to go.
After wandering for a few minutes, her luck finally paid off as she spots the cave. Not many would notice the well hidden cave unless a keen eye was looking for it. Maneuvering carefully through the stones, slipping through the entrance without alerting anyone or anything that she was there. The sun’s rays of light was dwindling as the moon was slowly starting to take its place. Causing a golden hue to filter into the large cave. Padding softly further into the den, brows furrowing at the different scent that seemed to grow stronger. Quietly placing her decorations down before turning the corner, her blue fur rising in apprehension. Narrowing her eyes as she peeks around the corner, her attention zeroing on a large dark tom laying upon the large stone placed within the center. Iris could not help but let out a soft gasp in surprise, what was this tom doing here? Sleeping?
Cautiously approaching the non-suspecting Edgefrost. Pausing before him, she could not help but stare at the sleeping tom, he looked so peaceful. Frowning at the thought, her and duchess could not handle another mouth to feed. The homeless tom would need to go and seek shelter elsewhere! Steeling her nerves, trying to control her racing heart as she clears her throat softly, trying to gain the feline’s before her attention. Pursing her lips as all he did was stir before slumbering once more, mentally cursing herself before clearing her throat more loudly. Watching him finally rise from his deep sleep, ears twitching at his curse for being disrupted. ‘It’s not like I imagined spending my time waking you up’ Iris could not help but think, her attention drawing to him once more as he tilts his head up and finally opens his eyes. Green connects with blue as the two stare at one another.
Her soft features scrunching up in distaste at his vulgar language, cursing her to get lost, as if he had been here first. Lips parting, ready to lash back at his rude tone, but pauses as she notices a shift in his tense body language. His eyes were wide in surprise as he takes her in. Iris arches a brow, seemingly not impressed as he gawks at her. What? He never seen a she-cat before? Not noticing that the now moonlight filtering from above seemed to almost give her rich blue pelt an ethereal glow, her eyes shimmering like sapphires as she regards him with uncertainty. Iris just wanted him to leave before Duchess came back. Scoffing under her breath as he calls her beautiful, the low whistle escaping him causes her blue eyes to narrow. He certainly was not making a first good impression. Tilting her head to the side, studying the now cocky tom before her, causing her collar to glint in the dim lighting, drawing Edgefrost’s attention to it.
The poor lady could not bring herself to completely part from her collar, as it still felt as if it was a part of her. Her identity that she was not sure if she was ready to lose. Eyes widening in surprise at Edgefrost’s sudden disinterest, catching his little jab at her being a house cat. Clenching her jaw in irritation, tail lashing behind her as she coolly glares at him. “Well, not that it concerns a homeless bimbo like you! I am no longer a house cat! Not that there is anything wrong with being one!” Iris hisses out. Fuming as he had the audacity to appear unaffected as he goes to staring up at the cavern ceiling. “Now why don’t you run along! This cave has already been claimed. And this 'house cat' says you aren’t welcomed” she sasses, ready to shove him off his little perch. That certainly would knock that smirk off of his face then!
