Oceanstorm relished the stroke of the cool river water against her skin, as it saturated her dark fur bringing with it relief from the heat. Although it was autumn, it was warm enough for a swim to be well worth the risk of discovery by a cat from the neighboring Clan. The Elders say it’s hotter every year, does that mean something? She wondered, diving beneath the surface with her eyes still open. A blurry green world greeted her, as she turned over to look up at the glassy ceiling above as it rolled and bowed. The sight was mesmerizing.
Just then, a dark shape appeared blotting out the sunlight. A deep shadow was cast over the riverbed, and Oceanstom frowned in annoyance. It was a cat, undoubtedly, and regardless of what Clan they were from she knew she’d be getting an earful. Deciding that if she was going to be in trouble it might as well have been worth it, she braced her back legs against the pebbled floor and shot upward like a rocket. Tepid air tussled her whiskers as she breached the surface, and she had only a moment to take in the face of a handsome tom she did not know before she let loose and sprayed his well-shaped features with a blast of water from her mouth.
“Hi there. I’m Oceanstorm- who’re you?” She asked, still sitting in the shallows of the river as she cocked her head smugly at him.

His dark green gaze observed the dark Bengal for a moment, he was about to open his mouth to introduce himself until she began speaking. Narrowing his eyes, he couldn’t help but let out a scoff and began walking off. Of course Oceanstorm was pretty, but she had to open her big mouth. Edge didn’t like egotistical felines, especially if they started bragging if their clan was the best one in the forest. In the black and gray Maine Coon’s opinion, there was no best clan. Every single clan had their flaws that ran deep that he was sure that those damned starry cats within Starclan would rather not admit their mistakes but wanting to keep their flawless appearances instead.
Of course his previous mate would boost that their clan was the best, instead of agreeing, Edge would let out a snort of aknowledgement that he heard her. He thought it was too egotistical and selfish of felines to believe that, and it was a turn off to hear it from Oceanstorm “Of course you had to open your big mouth.” Edge mumbled, not caring if she heard it. His tail lashed at the direction of the Thunderclan border “You know your way home, get lost.” Edge said, ignoring her presence now. Interacting with other felines that weren’t from Riverclan nor had serious intentions were a waste of time. Unfortunately he didn’t have time to be immature anymore like the molly behind him, he was a single father to a trio of apprentices and four kits in the nursery.
Hearing her pawsteps behind him, Edge let out a snort of disapproval. Why was the black Bengal so annoying? Didn’t she have anything better to do? “Don’t you have something better to do? You’re extremely sufferable at the moment.” Edge said, narrowing his dark green eyes. Stars, he was certainly glad that Oceanstorm wasn’t his mate. He was certainly enjoying his newfound bachelor status, which gave him some freedom that he hadn’t experienced before. The black and gray Maine Coon kept moving towards the direction of one of the ponds nearby, hoping she would get the hint and would finally leave him alone… Which Oceanstorm didn’t. Clearly she was an airhead, didn’t know better.
“Stalking you? Don’t be such a primadonna. I’ve just having a swim– go fish somewhere else if you’re hungry.” Oceanstorm mrrowed, clearly more amused than she was intimidated. With the state of ThunderClan, Leaderless and floundering, she would genuinely be intrigued to see how that whole situation would go down. Almost worth the earful she’d get from her family.
“Or better yet eat some actual food.” She snickered, drifting closer to him in the shallows where tall reeds sprang up, bending as she cut a path through them. Arriving at the bank she stood in ankle-deep water and gave her pelt a brief shake. Her dark spotted coat gleamed and shone in the sunlight.
“And I’m from ThunderClan, best put respect on that name, we are the best after all.”

It was the early morning, and as per usual Edge had managed to sneak out of camp. It was peaceful after such a long night, the Maine Coon felt like he wanted to pull his fur out with such a stressful day from the previous day. With Streampaw’s training and his boys involved with a tussle with each other, the black and gray tom needed to slip away from camp for some time to himself. After making sure his sons within the nursery were still asleep, he left camp. It wasn’t difficult to sneak out of camp, stars he’s been doing it since apprenticeship. Although lately, he was grateful for the loneliness that came with leaving camp by himself.
He was sitting in front of the river, having a moment of brooding to himself. It wasn’t until the large black and gray Maine Coon jumped slightly when a molly suddenly came from underneath the river and had spit water on him. A sense of irritation overcame him, water dripping off his muzzle. Edge’s dark green eyes were narrowed when looking at her, he wasn’t exactly pleased as Oceanstorm had ruined his moment of brooding. Good stars, why couldn’t he catch a break. It wasn’t until his ears perked up at the mention of her name. Ah, she was a clan cat. Clearly not from Riverclan. “None of your business.” Edgefrost said, suddenly getting up and padding away.
He heard splashing, along with Oceanstorm swimming in the river. He didn’t look over at her, but kept walking instead towards the direction of the island “If you don’t stop stalking me, I’ll drag your ass back to Riverclan and have you kept as a prisoner until whatever clan you’re from decides to fetch you.” Edge said, facing forward. The tom could tell this molly was a piece of work, Edge could figure it out from the smug smile and carefree attitude. Not that he cared, he didn’t even know her. Looking over and watching the pretty molly still following him, his tail flicked “Shoo. You’re scaring the fish.” Edge said, both of them knowing he could care less about the fish.
