The sun's still beating rays felt like scorching heat over the forest and its many inhabitants. Though the sun was beginning to set it felt as if it wasn't soon enough.
Eager to begin there walk, Jaggedthorn sat in the shade, eyeing the sunlit sky with annoyance. He had come early so that he wouldn't miss Tanglepath. He was still on restrictions as he was still in recovery from his return, nearly a moon before now.
The big tom suppressed a shiver as the Molly's fur brushed his own. Clearing his throat, he smiled, padding beside her. He was getting better everyday. Any day now he was sure to be cleared by Echo.
Then he frowned, becoming lost in thought. He hadn't seen or be able to run into Applewillow yet. Everytime he'd tried, she seemed to become explicitly busy as he approached. He couldn't help feeling she was avoiding him, and he couldn't fathom why.
Turning his attention to Tanglepath, he flicked an ear at a flower foxlength ahead of them. Coming closer, he bent down to pick it. It was a Daisy. He carefully placed it behind her ear and stepped back to look at her.
Then because it'd been moons since he'd even tried to flirt, the awkward tom broke into a grin and gave her a paws up (thumbs up).
"Im fine. Restless." She responded casually. As the black and white tom suppressed a chuckle, Tanglepath nodded in understanding to Jaggedthorn's feelings to being stuck In camp. "Understandable. Your healing. As well as readjusting to being back in the clan."
The himilayian warrior smiled, slowly walking next to Jaggedthorn and brushing alongside his black and white pelt as she passed him a few paces. Her bright blue gaze shone as Tanglepath glanced at the Thunderclan Tom. "Well then, we can always just walk for awhile. Duties are pretty much done for the day. Are they not?" She mewed curiously. Tanglepath had been waiting for the right time to walk and spend time with Jaggedthorn after he had healed. For days she had endlessly visited him within the medicine cat den, wondering how his recovery was going.
His return meanwhile, also made her question what Jaggedthorns goals were for the future. Did any align with her own? Now was the best time to finally get to know the black and white Tom personally.
In the clearing, Tanglepath stood beside Jaggedthorn, deep in discussion. The morning hunting patrol seemed to be just getting back. They set their prey on the pile, as the lead cat stopped in front of the leader and Deputy.
Lost in thought, he didn't notice her approach right away. Then his name broke his concentration and he blinked, seeing Tanglepath approach. He dipped his head to her and came up with a smile. “Greetings! How are you this fine, evening?” He asked. Her paw flashed out and sent water splashing towards him. It fell on his paw and he winced and raised his tail to his face, hiding his chuckle. Coughing, he removed his tail and shrugged. “I didn't have anywhere in mind really, it just nice to be able to get out of the camp. I feel like I'm elbow to elbow with everyone.”
It couldn't be much longer, he thought. His Pelt had been groomed and cleaned and now shone bright and smooth, unlike its prior matted and foul predecessor. His wounds, though hadn't been serious, were beginning to heal. His eyes were bright and clear. The tom wasn't at the weight he'd been before but that would come with time, he was told.
(Fixed the errors, I think I got confused with my fanfic.)
Emerging downwards from the river, Tanglepath noticed a black and white figure in the distance awaiting for her arrival. Despite the heat, the himilayian warrior smiled as she neared him. "Afternoon Jaggedthorn. Pleasant walking weather this morning...isn't it?" She said happily. Tanglepath leaned forward to take a few quick laps from the cool water, enjoying the feeling of relief from her parched throat as she did so. Her bright blue gaze slyly glanced at the healing warrior, a idea coming across her mind. As she stood back up in a sitting position, her brown dipped paw quickly splashed a little water his way, a playful smile upon her lips. "Just thought you might want to cool off a little." She teased.
The warrior had not slept much the night before. Since Jaggedthorn had returned home, Tanglepath had been patiently waiting for the black and white Tom to be mended enough to go out with her around the territory. His appearance had improved since he had been treated by Waspsight. His thick coat shined healthily and no longer showed his rib cage anymore she noticed. However, he still was still not allowed to do much just yet. She honestly felt a bit sad for him about that. Sitting around camp without anything to do would have driven any warrior crazy after a time.
"So where do you want to go first?" She asked curiously as Tanglepath sat down next to him.
