Recap
Sage; Eyebrows lifted slightly and he hummed as Ebonysky commented about Smokestar, causing his whiskers to twitch slightly. ”Never woke up, eh?” He repeated, a faint frown settling upon his lips. The Black Throat Plague was apparently so strong it was killing off leaders now, with no hope of their remaining life’s to bring them back? Surely Smokestar would awaken soon? ”I haven’t heard anything about WindClan, lately. Have they been affected at all?” Sagetalon wondered out loud, simply gossiping with the other male. Maybe that would help him to loosen up just a tad bit. Although he couldn’t help the chuckle as Ebonysky became defensive, allowing himself to glance back at the other tomcat. He was cute when he got flustered. ”Mhm.” Sagetalon hummed, his pale brown tabby striped tail swaying with amusement. ”Just try to focus.” Sagetalon teased with a cheeky grin, looking away from Ebonysky as he began to walk down the steep hill that led towards WindClan, mouth parted as he breathed in the scents around him. There was vole and chipmunk, but nothing stood out to him as a fresh scent. Yet.

It wasn't that the tom doubted the felines ability to hunt by no means, admittedly he felt the other was kinda slow compared to himself he feared that the wind would have surely go against them and cause the prey to veer off to one side or the other so he had felt the need to keep an eye out just in case giving the tom enough room to catch the rabbit before she would jump in. Tail twitching slightly as he thank starclan for the easy catch the weather just simply playing games in that current moment the wind turning just any direction possible.
Taking a seat he drew a tongue over his paw and drew it over his ears before he decided to really acknowledge the tom before him. Letting out a low hum he turned his green hues on him. "I suppose you did a good job catching the rabbit this time." He calmly started before grinning a little, "you just need to focus more you're kind of slow" he teased as he padded over giving him a little nudge before taking the time to really think about what they could do.
The likelihood of them finding a lot of prey out and about with the current weather was more then unlikely but he didn't see the rush in going back to camp right away. He found the tom rather amusing and didn't want to miss the chance of hanging out with him more. Ebonysky rolled his head from side to side in thought, "hm.... I think we should try and see if we can find some more prey to bring back. With the black plague and the grossly cold leafbare it wouldn't hurt to try and bring as much as we can." He started out as his tail twitched slightly. "Unless you're cold and want to go back to camp don't let me stop you from doing that." He added.
Scooping up the rabbit the tom brushed past Sagetalon trotting over to where they had hid the catch he had made previously he decided to at least try and keep track anything they caught while out and about. When he was sure that both prey was covered and away from an moisture he turned back to his companion and tilt his head to the side. "So what's it going to be Sagetalon? Want to continue or go back to camp?"

Nimble paws quietly moved as the tomcat moved through the undergrowth, his tabby and white pelt camouflaged within the brush. Sage green eyes narrowing as Ebonysky quickly understood what he had meant without even needing to communicate. Crouched down low, he made sure to stay down wind of the rabbit so it didn’t have a reason to veer off, his nose twitching as he could smell his companion and the rabbit in the wind, tip of his tail twitching anxiously. With felines recovering from the Black Throat Plague, they would be needing a constantly flow of prey in order for the sickly to get stronger. Eyes fluttered up slightly as he could see small flakes of snow fluttering down from the tree canopy, pupils narrowing briefly. He was ready for all this snow to melt and be done with.
Ears twitching upon hearing paws thumping rapidly against the ground, head turning in the direction of the noise, nostrils flaring slightly. Finally the rabbit came into sight with Ebonysky quick on its heels, snapping his jaws near the rabbits ankles in order to steer it. The black furred tom quickly pulled back so he wasn’t caught in the cross fire, his eyes narrowed and worried his companion wouldn’t be in position. But he was. Waiting patiently as he pressed his tongue against the roof of his mouth, muscles tensing before he quickly pushed out of the brush, breaking dried out twigs as he did so, the rabbit squealing in momentary surprise as it was locked over, it’s neck quickly broken. Sagetalon wasn’t quick like a WindClan cat to catch these rabbits on his own, but he most certainly could work with a clanmate to get the job done.
“Very nice, Ebonysky!” He called over his shoulder, picking up the rabbit and dragging it towards the brush. “You wanting to continue the hunt or take all this back?”

Was Ebonysky acting a little too cocky for something so measly when it came to catching prey. Something about the tom just made him feel the need to show him up... like he had to prove his worth to him in some shape way or form. Maybe it had to be the fact that he had some unknown attraction towards the tom. Just the way they held themselves and just how they acted made him want to get some more form of reaction out of him just to see more of it.
When he heard the clicking from the other his gaze traveled to where they had pointed his lip slightly parted as he caught the scent of rabbit. Grinning slightly the black feline fell into a crouch creeping through the shadows as he drew closer to the twisted root. Despite no form of communication on what to do with this potential prey the tom had known to steer the rabbit out towards the waiting claws of his friend not too far away from him. The moment he knew he was close enough to it he waited for a moment green hue shifted over to the awaiting tom he finally struck forward causing the rabbit to shoot towards the other feline.
Making sure that he was in a spot to where he can reinforce the rabbit in the events that the tom wouldn't have been able to make the catch. Slinking around the young warrior studied the events before him his ears perked and his claws sinking in the ground below as he held his breath slightly.
"Come on idiot... please catch this..." he mumbled under his breath his tail slightly twitching.

He shrugged a broad shoulder at the comment of Smokestar, it was unfortunate what had happened to the ShadowClan leader. He didn’t know what exactly had infiltrated the Clans but it had also proven to be devastating for ThunderClan as well. Cats dying left and right, slow and painful deaths that had caused fear to settle in the hearts of the feral cats. “It’s horrible to hear that she never woke up.” He mumbled in a soft voice, not exactly sure what they had been up against either, just that he had been fortunate enough never to get infected.
Ebonysky’s focus was suddenly placed elsewhere as he scented prey near-by. Which had prompted Sagetalon to follow in pursuit, breathing in the scents around them, but he could only smell the squirrel that his companion was following. Rats. He thought sourly, turning his gaze away from the dark pelted tomcat, as he began to turn his focus towards a patch of tall grass that stank of WindClan but there was also a promising scent of vole. Perhaps he might find a little critter running across the border.
Hearing a thump at his back paw, he straightened out his back, ears perked as his chin turned to see that dead squirrel at his paw. Smirking slightly, his green eyes lifted back towards Ebonysky’s face to see the cheeky grin. Although he hadn’t been staring at the tom, he certainly was now as he lifted an eyebrow in amusement. “Nicely done.” He grinned, unable to fight back against the argument Ebonysky laid out before him. “I shall do better.” He shook his head, looking down at the squirrel before he picked up the dead critter, moving it back into the trees and under a root so the birds wouldn’t carry it off.
Moving away from the patch of tall grass, he was heading back towards the tree line, mouth parted. Although he could scent a vole, his green eyes kept flickering towards the dark black pelt of his companion. The way Ebonysky’s muscles flexed underneath his pelt, or the way his brilliant teal colored gaze would brighten when he caught a scent trail. He hated to admit that he found it attractive. Suddenly he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth in a quick trill, getting Ebonysky’s attention, using his muzzle to point in the direction of a twisted root. The scent? Rabbit.

Ebonysky let out a faint hum came from him as his green hues shifted around their surrounding looking for even the slightest bit of movement to come about as his ears tuned in for any hidden sound. Making it known that he heard what the tom had said he nodded, "I'm afraid so, something to do with the stuff? I'm not completely positive though so really don't quote me. I have a feeling that everyone was affected by it.... I still wish we knew what exactly it was.." He softly added before he paused for a moment hearing some rustling come off from the distance.
Eyes instantly narrowed, maw parted to let in the scent he slowly dropped to a crouch, smelling the scent of squirrel he was determined to catch it. Slowly and surely, he had begun to creep forward all before he quickly pounced on it his tail twitching slightly when his teeth had sunk into the creatures' frail form before any and all life force evaporating as it hung limp in his maw. letting out a satisfied purr he stalked over to the still chattering tom dropping his catch at his paw as he arched a brow. "As you were saying? If anyone's not paying attention surely, it's you. I've already caught something so perhaps quit looking at me? its creepy" he joked lightly sticking a tongue out at him before he quickly turned away and started walking once more seeing if there was any other prey close by for him to catch his gaze occasionally sneaking its way back at the tom.
