Solarkit
Skyclan Kitten
Sneaking out of the Leader’s Den, the sun was rising. The black and ginger tabby had made sure to quietly wiggle out of his mother’s grasp as her feathery tail was wrapped over himself and his siblings to keep warm. Somehow, Solarkit had managed to beat his father in waking up early, Firestar usually was up before the crack of dawn. Dark blue eyes were scanning the area, observing the area as Solarkit was making sure no one had spotted him. A half grin appeared on the small tom’s face, making his way down the twisted branches that led to the camp clearing. After listening to stories that Firestar had spoken about Secluded Falls, Solarkit was interested in seeing if the folktales were true.
Letting out a small laugh, the Maine Coon tom had quickly made his way towards the camp entrance. The kit fluff had made him appear more bigger than he was, his belly was full of milk. “This is it.” Solarkit said, excitement in his tone. He couldn’t wait to tell his littermates when he would finally find the Spirit of the Falls! They all would be highly impressed by him! It wasn’t until the small tom had froze when hearing his name being called, Solarkit’s blue eyes narrowed. Maybe if he stayed still, the feline would leave him alone. For a couple of moments, Solarkit was standing there, but began moving once more towards the entrance. The black and ginger tom let out a small groan when hearing his name being called once again along with the sound of pawsteps behind him.
Letting out a small huff, Solarkit turned around to Auburnpaw. Noticing his cousin looking at him with a suspicious look, Solarkit needed to think of a proper alibi in order to leave camp. The son of Cherryblossom and Sunowl was extremely smart, although Solarkit felt as if he was smarter. “Hello Auburnpaw.” Solarkit said, dipping his way to the clearing. While his feathery tail was flicking back and forth, the Maine Coon tom needed to think quickly “I was just going to the dirt place.” Solarkit said, his voice was nonchalant while his eyebrow was raised. Would Auburnpaw question his true motives?
A U B U R N P A W
The ginger-and-black tom had just gotten back to camp from a dawn patrol. He parted ways with his mentor and made his way over to the fresh-kill pile. He thought about grabbing a bite for himself since he hadn't had anything to eat yet today, but then he caught sight of something peculiar.
Over by the edge of the clearing, he caught sight of a little bundle of fur creeping through the undergrowth, making its way towards the exit of camp. Right away, he saw a familiar flash of ginger. One of Firestar's billions of kits, he assumed. The little thing was trying to be sneaky and slip out of camp as though it were an easy feat. Auburnpaw had half the mind to turn away and let the little guy do whatever he wanted while he could. After all, it was only a matter of time before Firestar and Auroraskies awoke, realized he was gone, and raised all sorts of hell. But then, he thought that if they realized he had seen Solarkit sneak out and had done nothing about it, it would be more of a pain than it was worth.
Sighing, Auburnpaw turned to intercept the kit from his mission. "Solarkit," He called to the boy, letting him know that he was seen and that his stealth operation was a bust. The kit paused, his entire body rigid and stiff as he knew that his attempt had been thwarted. When he didn't move, the apprentice rolled his eyes. Stubborn kit.
Auburnpaw stepped forward, propping a paw down on the tom's little tail to assert attention and further state that Solarkit just wasn't getting away with it. The kit started blabbing his mouth about a faint excuse, probably the first thing that came to his mind. It was a poor one, and one that several other kits had tried when they thought they could sneak out of camp and not be noticed. "You're not fooling anyone." The tom stated bluntly, unamused. He continued, not letting up on the kitten in the slightest, "You know that even if you did get out, there'd be hell to pay after, right? Your mom would tear the entire Clan apart looking for you and then the entire Clan would be punished for being careless enough to not see you sneak away. Do you really want to inconvenience all of SkyClan because of your own selfishness?"
