Context: Woolypaw has just had her medicine cat apprentice ceremony, having been appointed just as the weather has started to get chilly. It is the next morning, her first official day as Waspsight’s apprentice.
Woolypaw had slept so comfortably in Waspsight’s den, surrounded by the thick herbal musk that always seemed to envelope the small space. Being still so young, she was a bit nervous to sleep outside the nursery without the comfort of her mother, or even her rambunctious brothers. But as she slept there that night, she felt a calming sense that she was where she belonged. She knew that Starclan had guided every pawstep she’d ever taken to lead her to this point, and she was grateful.
She woke up as the morning sunrise peeked rays of light into the camp, hitting her face and making the young she-cat stir before opening her light blue eyes. Her gaze rested on a neat pile of dark green leaves as she waited for the fog to clear from her brain. She got quickly to her paws and searched the den for Waspsight, but could not see him anywhere. Her ears flicked towards the entrance of the den as she heard two familiar voices just outside. She let out a soft purr as she recognized Ravenstar and Waspsight, but she still lingered in the softness of her freshly made nest and took a moment to let the herbal scents linger on her palate. She snapped back into reality, though, when she realized that Waspsight was more than likely waiting for her to wake up. With a sudden sense of anxiety she rushed out of the den, stumbling slightly over her paws as she tripped towards her mentor and leader.
“Eep! I mean, ah! Morning, Waspsight, Ravenstar!”
Ravenstar
Shadowclan Leader
It was certainly an exciting day, he had remembered his first day as an apprentice, an unforgettable experience. Hollowflame had been a fantastic teacher to him, everything that he had learned was from the older Bengal. Waspsight was a fantastic feline, so Woolypaw would be in the most safest paws with the calico tom.
“I’ll follow your lead” Ravenstar grunted, deciding to stay back in order for Waspsight to be comfortable in showing his new apprentice around. His ears perked at the scent of Larkpaw entering his nose. Apparently one of his spirit guides was interested in Woolypaw’s first day as well
“I remember when I was an apprentice, I would throw stink bugs in the elders den.. I would also pain on the leaders’ den, they never caught me.” Larkpaw chuckled, a bright smile on his face. Ravenstar looked towards the brown tabby spirit and smiled slightly in amusement, shaking his head towards the spirit
Woolypaw felt a wave of embarrassment flush through her body as the toms watched her stumble and get to her feet. She knew now to watch her paws before clambering out of the den. She tried to look composed as she gave a reserved smile, but the twitching of her tail gave away her excitement.
"Of course, ready as ever." She dipped her head, her tone having shifted from one of an overeager kit to a calm and collected healer ready for training. She looked back up to her mentor and leader and relaxed a bit as she remembered they were still just her clanmates, same as before. She felt ready to go right away, to not waste another moment to set paws outside of the camp for the first time as an apprentice. Her belly betrayed her, though, emitting a low growl and showing her hunger. Maybe they would decide it best to eat before they go, but Woolypaw knew apprentices didn’t always get to eat if the rest of the clan was hungry. Or something like that... She didn't know what rules applied to her specifically as a medicine cat, but she found it best not to ask, and instead quietly waited for further instruction.
Ravenstar
Shadowclan Leader
The Shadowclan leader had recently heard that it was Woolypaw’s first day as training as a medicine cat, which he was slightly interested to see how it went. Ravenstar had an interest in watching the progression of apprentices’ training, wanting to see the training of Shadowclan’s future.
Narrowing his eyes slightly, Ravenstar and Waspsight had waited for Woolypaw to wake up. The huge black tom had wanted to see how the white molly’s first day was. Of course he didn’t mean to suddenly barge into the first day of training, but he hadn’t seen medical training in action before.. Call Ravenstar nosey, but he was rather curious.. Of course, he wasn’t going to admit that to anyone.
Watching the newest Shadowclan apprentice nearly running out of the den, his eyebrow arched before giving a nod in greeting “Morning Woolypaw.” Ravenstar quietly greeted her, standing up for a moment. The Shadowclan leader was mainly a tom of few words, he didn’t speak much but was more observant than anything.
He had decided to join Waspsight in giving Woolypaw a tour of the Shadowclan land, and looking at areas to find the most perfect herbs. It also peaked his curiosity in which Woolypaw could also see spirits since Ravenstar could see his spirit guides and Waspsight could see spirits. Ravenstar also was silently excited to see Waspsight being a mentor, as the calico had watched Ravenstar grown up and the black tom has a high level of respect for the calico tom.
