What little was left of their Moon Cave was heart breaking to see, Spottedkoi could feel the devastation swirling in the air. Spottedkoi always felt so connected to her ancestors and for once that feeling was gone, part of her felt empty. Her pawsteps were meticulously placed, focused on not causing anymore damage. Upon arriving at what once was the mouth of moon cave Spottedkoi let out a long heavy sigh, followed by a soft grunt before her eyes succumbed to sleep, a final attempt at reaching their ancestors.
Please just say something! Anything!
When her eyes blinked open it was just darkness, there was no Starclan, no warmth, no stars, just an endless void; then why did it still feel like she was being watched? A raspy echo calling to her “Spottedkoi~”. Before she could have a moment to grasp what she heard, or thought she heard, a jab to her side brought the leader back to her place in time. A momentary glare cast over to the warrior who woke up the molly, if they didnt wake her she may have found some sort of answer. “They have arrived.” The warrior informed her. Flickering her tail, Spottedkoi dismissed the warriors to wait for her at their rendezvous point.
Spottedkoi rose to her paws, greeting the more experienced leaders before her. Spottedkoi wasnt the best at vocalizing her thoughts but she had spent all morning practicing with Honeywisp on what to say. “I-I” Freezing now that the other leaders eyes were on her. Averting her gaze, Spottedkoi attempted to finish. “Spottedkoi. Riverclans leader now…i-i guess” Though she hadnt received her lives nor been blessed with her name, Riverclan had already taken to her unusual leadership like fish to the water.
Ravenstar
Shadowclan Leader
Edgefrost, A Riverclan Warrior, had alerted Shadowclan about Spottedkoi’s request for an audience in the middle of the night when the older warrior had patiently awaited at the entrance of Shadowclan’s temporary camp since their last camp was burned down by Kaelan. The Riverclan warrior didn’t say much, just that Ravenstar was requested at the Mooncave.
He had seen it a mile away.
Witnessing Copperstar’s death, he knew it was Spottedkoi’s rise to leadership happening. Although, he was curious to see why himself and the other leaders were requested to meet with her. Firestar and Desertstar were in front of him, conversing about the topic. The Shadowclan leader remained behind them, pondering his thoughts.
Upon entering the Mooncave, something was certainly off. There wasn’t any spiritual presence, he couldn’t even detect Larkpaw, his current spirit guide. Grunting, the Shadowclan Leader knew there was something wrong.. It didn’t feel safe in here.. It just felt like a normal cave. Meeting Hawkstar at the entrance, the four leaders made their way to Spottedkoi.
The black leader remained behind slightly as the three other leaders had confronted Spottedkoi, his golden eyes remained narrowed. It wasn’t until he suddenly stood up and shouldered his way past Firestar and Hawkstar to stand in front of the Riverclan deputy, observing her. Ravenstar couldn’t really detect her aura, it was unreadable.. But there was almost like a dark cloud above her head.. Perhaps it was her nerves of becoming leader.
He certainly knew this experience.
Looking at Spottedkoi, Ravenstar nodded. The Shadowclan leader certainly knew her feelings, he had felt them once too. Spottedkoi was nervous, she felt uncertain, she felt doubt. These were familiar feelings that he had once felt too. “Welcome.” Ravenstar said quietly, grunting in greetings before standing besides Desertstar and Firestar.
