Cactusbloom
Windclan Warrior
The small gray Bengal was laying with her newborn, Baileyakit, in the nursery. It had been a couple of days since Dayfall, Lynxtalon and herself had brought back the tiny kit after the result of the relationship of Dayfall and Beakrose, a Thunderclan warrior. It was a completely new experience, motherhood. Baileyakit had may not been Csctusblom’s biologically, but Cactusbloom would give her daughter the entire world if she could. It had felt like a dream came true in a way, that she would become a mother after herself and Lynxtalon had tried producing kits.. That was normal right? Trying to start a family with your best friend?
It had seemed like everything had fallen into place when Dayfall had asked Cactusbloom to fill in the role of mother to his kit. Far as everyone in Windclan knew, Baileyakit had belonged to Cactusbloom and Dayfall while Lynxtalon was another parent. It seemed like everyone believed in the story the three of them had created. The small kit nuzzled into her mother’s stomach, settling in for a nap. While Cactus didn’t produce milk, she still stayed in the nursery with Baileyakit and only performed her warrior duties whenever Dayfall or Lynxtalon were present.. Maybe taking a page out of Desertstar’s book with having two fathers was a very helpful thing.. After all, it took a clan to raise a kit.
Opening her light green eyes when her mother’s scent hit her nose, a soft smile appeared on her lips when she raised her head to look at the Windclan leader. Herself and Desertstar had been through a lot together in life as mother and daughter.. But to present Baileyakit to Desertstar was going to be a very memorable moment.. Although Desertstar didn’t know if the kit’s true heritage.. She wanted the Windclan leader to love her granddaughter with her entire heart as Cactusbloom loved Desertstar with her whole heart.
“Mama.” Cactusbloom said softly, a smile appeared on her lips. Moving slightly for Baileyakit to come into view, she moved to the side of her nest to allow Desertstar to and the newborn kit to have room to themselves. “This Baileyakit.. She’s been eagerly awaiting to meet you.” She said looking down at the gray and brown kit. Oh how that baby was already her pride and joy.

The Leader of Windclan
The air within the nursery was thick with the scent of new life as she quietly slipped inside, her paws whispering against the sandy floor. She hadn't seen her daughter in a while and was truthfully eager to catch up with her. As Cactusbloom called out to her, a soft smile curved her lips, her gaze fixed on the kit at her belly. "Baileyakit, is it?" she approached, her voice low and gentle, a stark contrast to her usual commanding tone. "What a beautiful name,” she purred, her voice gentle as she leaned down to get a better look at the kit.
Glancing between the pair, her eyes softened, noting the way her daughter’s face lit up with pride as she spoke of the kit, her own memories of motherhood stirring within her. It had been a long time since her first litter, and now her once playful kitten had grown into a mother herself, cradling her very own kit. Moving closer, she pressed her nose against Baileyakit's fluffy fur to familiarize herself with her scent. It was then that she noticed something was off. It was subtle, but she could tell that Cactusbloom wasn't producing milk.
A flicker of worry entered her gaze as thoughts raced through her mind, filled with concern for her kin. What could be wrong? Was her daughter okay? Would Baileyakit have enough nutrition to thrive? Then, another thought entered her mind, and her brow furrowed slightly as she remembered her daughter’s.. unusual pregnancy. It was strange, really. There had never been any signs of her pregnancy, no swelling in her belly or signs of kits growing inside her, and now, she didn't seem as if she had given birth either. A nagging suspicion stirred in the back of her mind. However, seeing as the kit was healthy, she didn’t dwell on the matter. If there was something her daughter needed to tell her, she knew she would, otherwise, the leader didn't need to. She saw the love Cactusbloom had for Baileyakit, and that was all that mattered.
“Have you spoken with Littlewoods to see if there’s anything to be done about your milk production, dear?” she whispered quietly, watching her.
