Lark
Loner
Pain, that’s what Lark felt as a spasm of pain went through his leg. The large tom was clenching his jaw as he was running for his life. The damn mountain Lion had gotten him again, just when he least expected it. The loner was cursing internally when feeling the much larger cat closing in on him, Lark had less than a minute to think before becoming crowfood. Quick, leaping over the stream would probably give some distance between them. Clenching his jaw, the large tom quickly made it towards the direction of the stream and nearly collided with a rock if he hadn’t side stepped in time.
If he didn’t live to tell this story, Lark would be damned for sure.
“Fuck off!” Lark said, before running with all of his might before leaping over the large stream. The large white and gray tom had collided with the edge of the stream, the tom was gasping for air as the chilly cold water hit him. His hind legs were scrambling, climbing onto the muddy ground until the large tom finally made it on the snowy ground. Tilting his head, his amber eyes looked back at the mountain cat that refused to cross the stream, staring him down. What was stopping the mountain cat from fully crossing to get to him?
The larger animal turned around and started padding the other way, leaving Lark to lay at the other side of the stream while bleeding heavily. Feeling himself growing dizzy from the blood loss and exhaustion, Lark felt his vision growing more blurry but snapped out of it when a figure was approaching him, it was a dark figure. Snapping out of it, the loner let out a loud groan before shaking his head “Stop, I can move.. Don’t need help.” Lark said before slowly getting up, before not even making it half way until collapsing once more.
He was in trouble.
Nightfire
Warrior of Windclan
Hearing the tom fall to the ground after she’d just picked him up made her sigh in aggravation. Was he determined to bleed to death? He needed to stay still if he wanted to live. Thankfully he didn’t get very far, though, and she was able to get under him again with ease. “I’m not going to kill you,”she quickly reassured him, a bit of nervousness bleeding into her voice as the feeling of hot, sticky blood dripped down her black coat. It was difficult not to worry for him, though she quietly reminded herself that she, too, bled this much when the mountain lion had attacked her. “My name is Nightfire,” she answered his question, and then asked, “What’s yours?” before slowly taking off in the direction of Windclan camp. She wanted to put a safe distance between them and the mountain lion, and get the injured tom to Littlewoods as fast as she could.
Running through the moorland, she barely broke a sweat, her legs working hard as they kicked up dust from the dry, grassy landscape. Then, when the familiar abandoned cabin came into view, she breathed a sigh of relief. To the untrained eye, it appeared to be rotting away; overgrown with honeysuckle and long vines. However, they had transformed the inside into a sturdy, almost cozy hideaway with a functioning community within it. Once the guards let her through, she carried him passed the entrance of camp and went straight to the medicine cat den. Nightfire breathed deeply to catch her breath, the scent of fresh herbs wafting up into her nostrils before her eyes met with the medicine cat’s concerned face. ”I found him by the river. He was attacked by a mountain lion,” she quickly explained to Littlewoods and gently lowered him down, watching as the medicine cat rushed around to treat his wounds. All she could do now was watch and help as much as she could by applying pressure with cobwebs.
Eventually the bleeding stopped and, even though he wasn’t out of the woods yet, he was at least in stable condition. Still, there was the risk of infection, and he’d need to rest until his wounds had healed and he regained his strength— which would likely take a while. He’d probably have to stay in Windclan for a moon or two. “I’ll, uh.. I’ll get you some water,” she stood up to fetch a clump of moss soaked with water, placing it in front of him and nudging it closer with her nose. “You lost a lot of blood. It’s important to stay hydrated.”
