Venompaw
Venompaw couldn't help but fidget awkwardly as Rainysky chatted away with SkyClan's new medicine cat, Ceruleansky. A look of relief crossed their face when their mentor finally introduced them and explained that they weren't a big talker. The black tabby waved their tail in greeting and dipped their head respectfully when they were acknowledged by the SkyClanners. As Rainysky explained the reason for their visit, something about wanting to check in on how the new medicine cats were doing, Venompaw couldn't help but tune out a bit, since the topic didn't really involve them and they were in a new and interesting place. They weren't sure how long they hadn't been paying attention when suddenly Rainysky nudged them and said their name. Were they going back to camp? Unfortunately not. Their face fell a bit when the silver tabby asked them to accompany Ceruleansky's apprentice out into SkyClan territory to peel some bark off a particular tree that grows near the ShadowClan border. The bark of an alder tree helped tooth aches, how interesting. Venompaw didn't understand why they were being sent too. Why did they need to go with the other apprentice? Why couldn't they all go together? As usual, no matter how hard they tried to speak their mind, nothing would come out.
And that's how they ended up walking through a strange, wooded territory with a she-cat that they knew literally nothing about besides her name. It was mortifying to say the least, and from the awkward silence between them, it seemed that Laurelpaw wasn't exactly thrilled about their little mission, either. The she-cat seemed... tense, like she didn't even want to be there at all. Venompaw just hoped they could get what they were after and get back to their mentors before this she-cat bit their head off or something. They opened their mouth to try to break the silence between them and Laurelpaw, but their nerves wouldn't allow a sound to pass through, so, to avoid looking like a fool, they simply shut their mouth and looked around at the trees as they walked, trying to spot the particular tree they were after.
🍄Laurelpaw 🍄
The small mollys ears folded back against her skull as she continued to hear the other out her heart ached a little for them. She was rather lucky to have some loving parents and some awesome siblings. Despite her little pity party about becoming an apprenticeship the molly had people she knew she could always go too if she so needed to. Where as this feline wasn't so lucky. Laurelpaws lips frowned a little as she casted her gaze off to the side. "Well they're missing out on a very talented feline, how silly of them!" She huffed slightly as she paused in front of the alder tree.
Laurelpaw glanced over at them for a moment her tail twitching slightly as she frowned a little bit, "To give you the shorts of the story just shy of my apprentice ship some friends and I had gotten into some trouble and I managed to twist my paw pretty good... It was when Speckledmoss and Opalsky were still the medicine cats." She calmly stated trying her hardest to not let her anger filter into her voice. She wasn't sure as to why she had to end up in the situation she was in currently, the previous rankees were well okay and still around for the most part. And there she was getting the short end of it all.
It made her furious and rather hateful for a lot of things. Anytime she was stuck inside the den the more she wished the earth below her would just open up and swallow her whole. She hated every second of her daily life, yet with this feline doing the silly little task she had too anyways made it rather bareable. It was as if they just clicked with her for who knew what real reason. "It's alright love I can help out. Might as well get use to the paw thing !" She joked softly a little smile tugging the corner of her lips.
