Dayfall
Windclan Warrior
Scorching bi-colored ember eyes were scanning the area as the massive two-tone tabby ginger tom was padding through the moors and towards the dock, an unsettling breeze went through his fur that caused a slight sliver. It had been a moon since Sandadder and his group had left Windclan, more importantly that Pinepaw had left Windclan. Dayfall wondered how the rebellion group was doing within this weather, as the Windclan camp had grown chilly at night. There were times at night that he grew worried about the temperatures dropping and ended up sneaking into the nursery to curl himself around Airkit and Wolfkit for warmth as he didn’t want them to suffer from the freezing weather.
Hearing the snow crunching underneath his paws, the tom looked down slightly as he watched the marks that he left behind. It wasn’t until Dayfall looked up at the full moon, and his tail flicked back and forth for a moment when realizing why he always enjoyed a full moon. Pinepaw and Dayfall used to sneak out of camp when they were younger towards the night time when everyone had fallen asleep, going towards the docks and watching the moon as that spot had the best view. Shallowing real hard, Dayfall kept padding towards the dock without hesitation. There was a feeling of loneliness and emptiness going through Dayfall, after the loss of Tinyflame and Pinepaw leaving Windclan. He noticed that Hailgaze was trying his best, and Dayfall did everything by looking after his little sisters and helping his father through everything that he could. He masked his emotions well, something that he was learning from his father. The only one that seemed to see him cracking was Beakrose these days as she could read him easily.
Looking up, Dayfall stopped for a moment when seeing a figure sitting at the docks looking at the stars and full moon. The two-toned ginger tabby’s mouth parted slightly in shock, not expecting to see his older brother. Was Pinepaw waiting for him? Standing there for a moment, he just wanted to run towards him and embrace the dark tom.. But the feeling was quickly replaced with anger, wanting to smack Pinepaw in the back of the head for everything that happened. Dayfall felt bitter, betrayed.. The two were supposed to get their warrior name together, take on the world like they declared as kits. A memory flashed through him, of the two toms playing together with the clearing.
“Faster Pinekit!” Daykit called as the two began chasing after each other, giggles escaping both of them as they were engaged in a game of tag. It wasn’t until suddenly the small ginger trip tripped over a small twig and had fallen face first to the ground. It seemed like it caught the attention of Tinyflame as she was making her way towards her fallen son, but Pinekit reached him first as Daykit lifted his head with tears streaming down his eyes. His older brother had looked down at him with concern as he knew Daykit was most likely embarrassed, a small grin appeared on Pinekit as he leaned down to touch his brother’s nose with his own which caused Daykit to start giggling and bumped his nose against the dark tom's cheek
“You’re my best friend” Daykit told him softly before seeing Pinekit’s eyes shining in happiness as the two toms began laughing, Daykit getting up and starting to run off so his older brother could catch him
The sounds of their giggles were the last thing that Dayfall heard before hearing his name called by Pinepaw. His head snapping up to his older brother’s direction as bi-colored ember eyes met blue. He forgot that Pinepaw had left when Day was still an apprentice, the other tom didn’t know his warrior name. Clearing his throat for a moment, Dayfall began padding towards his litter-mate with a stoic expression “It’s.. Dayfall now” The tom quietly muttered, until finally reaching his brother. Taking a seat beside his brother, it was quiet for a moment before the ginger tom looked up at the moon “It looks beautiful tonight”
