Desertriver
Riverclan Queen
Her amber-green gaze was looking towards the nursery for a moment, biting her inner cheek for a moment before turning around and padding straight to the clearing. Desertriver had just left the nursery so the kits could have their time with Sharkstride since he just came back from his hunting patrol. The golden-black molly had still felt awkward with her former lover, so she decided it was best that Sharkstride would have his own time with Miragekit, Brumekit, Hazekit and Paintedkit while Desertriver would find something else to do within the camp. Desertriver couldn’t deny that she needed some fresh-air, to have some time to herself and clear her thoughts about everything that happened recently within her life.
Going towards the middle of the clearing, the small Maine Coom looked around for a moment before starting to move towards the entrance of the camp to go hunting. It would be a good start, having some time within the territory and fishing. Desertriver had a huge disadvantage, she was still adapting to clan life while juggling a family. One would expect the former Viper turned house cat to easily ease into the wild once more, but Desertriver was only five moons old when she was supposedly ‘killed’ by that badger that stormed Viper’s camp that one fateful night. Looking down at her chest, the big slash mark that the badger had left behind.was merely a memory of her past life. Letting a soft sigh, Desertriver looked forward as she padded forward. It wasn’t until the small golden-black molly bumped into another feline which caused the molly to let out a squeak of surprise It seemed like her presence caught the other feline off guard as well, and the tom let out a growl. Thankfully Desertriver managed to catch herself from completely falling, and she looked to see a large white tom looking back at her. He looked frustrated as well. Her amber-green eyes narrowed slightly at him before waving her feathery tail back and forth in irritation, couldn’t he just watch where he’s going? “Watch it! You’re gonna get both of us hurt.” Desertriver snapped, but moments later the tom let out a frustrated sigh and began using his paws and tail to engage in sign language. The molly’s facial expression had fallen and she shook her head and let out a soft sigh, Desertriver was truly an idiot when she realized who she bumped into It was Snowbound She had seen the large white tom a couple of times within camp when Desertriver and her kits would go to the clearing, the two never interacting. The molly heard that the tom was deaf, but it never stopped him from doing anything and she liked that. Cursing under her breath as she hadn’t been fully good at sign language, it was Mercy who knew it better than her when they were younger. Letting out a soft sigh, she tried remembering a couple of sign words before her paws moved and began to sign “I eat Dirt.” before the molly let out a groan, no that wasn’t it. Desertriver wasn’t even sure if she even signed the correct thing. Thinking carefully, she began signing once more ‘I am Buttlicker.’
It seemed like Desertriver said something, because Snowbound was looking at her in confusion. Stars, she hoped that she didn’t insult him or anything. Hoping that the tom could read lips, the golden-black molly spoke carefully “I am sorry, I didn’t mean to bump into you.. I should have been careful.” Desertriver said, and it seemed like the tom understood that. - e3ff59

Desertriver
Riverclan Queen
The golden and black Maine Coon molly looked up at Snowbound with a softened expression on her face, moving to rub her cheek against his broad chest. Yes, she wanted everything with the handsome white warrior. “You are mine, as I’m yours.. Never forget that, you’re stuck with me.” Desertriver teased him, a giggle escaped him when Snowbound looked at her with a smirk on his face. Stars, that smirk caused her to have butterflies in her stomach. Looking at Snowbound for a moment, Desertriver looked towards the river for a moment with a thoughtful expression.. Her kits would have to know eventually that Snowbound would become a permanent aspect of their lives.
“They may be young, but I want them to know that even if relationships don’t work out.. They shouldn’t be afraid of moving on in life, to find their own happiness.. I know that you’ll fit into our family nicely, that the kits will adore you.” Desertriver promised, moving to caress his cheek before giving him a gentle kiss against his lips.
“Come on.” Desertriver signed before getting up, moving towards her beloved and intertwining their tails together and let out a large purr and rubbing her cheek against his shoulder “I want us to get dinner with the kits, you need to be introduced to them.” The golden and black molly mouthed before starting to lead the large white tom towards the direction of the Riverclan camp. There were many thoughts in her head, Desertriver knew that some of her peers were going to frown upon her actions on moving on so fast.. But she knew that Snowbound was worth it, their relationship was worth it.
Padding into camp with Snowbound, her gaze remained towards the direction of Nursery while holding Snowbound close to her. Her grip on his tail remained tightened, making sure that he wouldn’t get second thoughts and run away. A huge smile appeared on her face when spotting Hazekit running out of the nursery, Paintedkit running behind her younger brother. “Miragekit, Brumekit.. Come out!” The Maine Coon called towards her other kits who came scrambling out. Letting out a sharp whistle, the kits came towards her while having confused expressions on their faces when looking at Snowbound.
Releasing herself from Snowbound, Desertriver let out a soft sigh through her nose while thinking of the correct words. It wasn’t until a soft smile appeared on her face “This is Snowbound, I really like him.. Like how Aunt Aurora likes Firestar, and he wanted to meet you.” She explained to them, rubbing her cheek against her kits’ cheeks before looking towards Snowbound “He won’t replace your father, but our family is just growing.. I hope you will treat him nicely as he will treat you nicely.” She said, before beckoning her head towards the fresh kill pile
“Miragekit, it’s time for you to choose dinner tonight.” Desertriver said, a proud smile on her face when the small kit ran towards the pile to grab a salmon. It took a moment until her other siblings began helping her. Once all the kits returned, Desertriver purred loudly as the kits settled down.. Hazekit even sat with Snowbound!
It was a beautiful night, with a new family.
Snowbound |The Unhearing of Riverclan|
Clear blue eyes widening slightly as he allows Desertriver to guide his face down towards hers. Feeling her soft lips press slowly and sweetly against his causes goose bumps to form along his form. His heart begins racing as he returns the loving kiss, enjoying the feeling of her moving closer as her paws wrap around his shoulders. Not wanting the kiss to end but the need to air out weighs his wants, pulling back slightly with his breath fanning over Desert’s face as he looks at her with an almost dazed expression. His attention flickering back to her lips, even though the urge to kiss her again was overwhelming, he focused on what she was saying to him. It warmed him deeply that she wanted to know him, the real him!
The only thing he felt apprehensive about was having her hear his voice. It will certainly take him time to feel comfortable enough to speak properly to her. Giving her a small warm smile in adoration and gratitude as she gives him another kiss. How did he get so lucky? Starclan certainly had wanted their paths to cross. Tilting his chin downwards, giving her his undivided attention as she expresses her want to create a family in the future with him. It was refreshing to know where her future aspects lie. Kissing her forehead before signing, “I would love that, we have all the time in the world for that” Snowbound reassures, not wanting her to feel pressured to have a family with him. Being with her and getting to know her and her kits were enough for the tall snowy white tom.
Purring softly as she nuzzles into his neck and chest fur, enjoying the loving embrace as he briefly glances around. It was peaceful, but he could see the sun threatening to disappear behind the horizon. They would have to return back to camp soon, even though the thought of returning made him feel uneasy. What if this was all just in the moment and as soon as they return it’s as if nothing ever happened. Mentally shaking the thoughts from his mind as Desertriver suggests staying with him tonight to get to know one another more after having dinner with her kits. Smiling brightly as he nods his large cranium, “I would love to meet your kits if you think they would be okay with meeting me” he wonders. Would she tell her kits that she was dating or that they were just good friends? Snowbound would let Desertriver decide as they were her kits after all. He just wanted to spend as much time with her as possible.
Desertriver
Riverclan Queen
It was such an unusual feeling, how someone could bring her content so quickly. There was something about Snowbound that made Desertriver comfortable, he bought her stability. All of her life, the golden and black molly had longed for stability and happiness.. Desertriver had thought she would find it with Sharkstride but was wrong. Scooting over until the small Maine Coon was in front of the large white warrior, her amber-green eyes were looking up at him in awe. Her right paw moved to caress his cheek, a soft smile escaped Desertriver when feeling him leaning into her touch. Desertriver had heard the whispers from the other queens when Snowbound would leave her meals near the nursery, or find feathers in her nest to ensure herself and the kits would sleep more comfortably. The molly wondered why Snowbound didn’t make his presence nor his interests known to her before this stroll, but appreciated how thoughtful Snowbound was in his own way.
It wasn’t until Desertriver’s heart had melted with his promise, to be devoted to her and the kits. Guiding his face towards her own, her lips pressed against his own and the smaller feline melted into the kiss. It was instant fireworks, wrapping her arms around his broad shoulders. Smiling, Desertriver pulled back and looked at him with such a soft expression. “I want everything with you” The golden and black molly spoke carefully to him, making sure that he understood every word. “I want to know everything that you love, that you dislike.. I wanna hear your voice” Desertriver said, leaning up to give him another loving kiss. Desertriver didn’t see anything wrong with Snowbound, no one should be judged on their appearance, personality or disability. She wanted to give Snowbound everything in life and make him the happiest that he could be.
Looking up at him, Desertriver’s chest was pressed against his own while giving him a look of adoration. The golden and black molly didn’t want to rush anything with the handsome white tom, instead wanting to ensure that their courtship would go smoothly and eventually become mates. While her eyebrows furrowed for a moment, Desertriver had looked up at him. Did Snowbound want to become mates? Start a family with her? She hoped that he wanted those things, Desertriver had dreamed about having more children while making sure that the kits would grow up to see their parents being loving instead of her first litter seeing their parents’ relationship falling apart in front of their eyes.
“I promise to give you children as well, to let you fully experience parenthood.. Me and you, ok?” Desertriver softly promised to which he had nodded once more before she leaned up and kissed his muzzle before moving to nuzzle her face into his neck while releasing a loud purr. The small Maine Cook knew that it would take time and patience, but she would work incredibly hard to ensure that Snowbound was happy with their relationship. There was something about the tom that made her giddy,
“Let me stay with you tonight, we’ll have dinner with the kits.” Desertriver said slowly to him, biting the inside of her cheek for his answer. Was it too fast to introduce her children to him? Perhaps, but she wanted to introduce her kits to her beloved so their relationship could start to develop. Moving to embrace her panther, her cheek was rubbing against his chest. The two were holding each other, enjoying the afternoon to themselves.
Snowbound |The Unhearing of Riverclan|
Snowbound had held interest in Desertriver for as long as he could remember, but had learned to keep his distance as he noticed someone else had already caught her eye. Sharkstride was everything that he was not: confident, sociable, charming, and most importantly…not deaf. He knew his disability tended to make others around him weary as they often enough did not know how to approach or communicate with him. After noticing that Sharkstride had made his move, Snowbound knew he never stood a chance. As the pure snowy white tom has never been the confrontational nor abrasive type. Sticking to his small group that he felt comfortable with, but that didn’t mean he would not catch himself watching the curious golden and black Maine coon molly. Course he could not hear the gossip between the two so called lovers, his eyes worked well enough to see that Desertriver had been struggling with Sharkstride.
As it seemed the two wanted completely different things after she gave birth to their kits. Not knowing how to communicate with the recently separated molly, he had resorted to hunting and leaving prey for her and her kits within the nursery, making sure he was never spotted doing so. He had not wanted Desertriver to feel obligated to socialize with him or thank him in anyway. Even if he acts cold and uninterested majority of the time, he was always observing and noticing the littlest of things many would overlook. Snowbound had been content remaining unnoticed by desertriver to continue what he had been doing. He certainly had never expected to run into her like this, just the two of them in the snowy territory. Nonetheless did Snowbound believe she would show interest in him as if she had been curious about him for a while. Snapping out of his thoughts as her quick paw movements caught his eyes. His attention solely focused on what she was trying to convey. Smiling slightly in amusement as she lightheartedly complains about her crazy sisters. “Crazier than you? Hard to believe!” He cheekily signs with a grin on his lips.
He did not know what it was about this molly that drew him in. Even though they had hardly correlated within the moons of her being in Riverclan, it felt natural being in her presence. To joke and tease her as well to enjoy the simplest of touches from her. Had his feelings always been this strong towards her? A crease forms between his brows as he studies her intently, wondering if he should even be allowing himself to get too comfortable being around her as he was not sure if this chance encounter meant anything to her. Blinking in surprise as he realizes he had been caught staring at the beautiful molly. Biting his inner cheek as he awkwardly smiles before glancing away. ‘Just great…now I bet she thinks I am even more odd than usual’ he bitterly thought not knowing what thoughts were going through that pretty little head of hers. He could tell that his gentle and meaningful words about her scars warmed her up. Taking note of her bashful smile as she kisses his cheek in appreciation.
Tensing briefly at the feel of her lips softly against his skin before relaxing into the touch. A small smile forms on his lips as she agrees to the stroll and nuzzles her cheek against his affectionately. Blinking slightly as he eyes her in the corner of his eye, biting back a wide grin. Nodding ahead, leading Desertriver further into the snowy forest, no destination in mind. They spent a few hours simply getting to know one another, it was almost natural for the two. Desert had poured her heart and soul out to him about her tragic past that left a physical scar behind. “I am so glad that you are not letting the scar define you. I have seen you train—you are more than capable of defending yourself” Snow signs fluidly. Suppressing a shiver as he feels her tail slip around him in order to pull him closer, their pelts mingled together as well as their body warmth. Pursing his lips in thought as she inquired about him, wanting to know what was behind the mask of the broody warrior.
“Not much to tell to be honest. It’s just me, my parents passed when I was young and my brother died during the battle of the clans. I only like trout when it comes to fish. Slugs disgust me. My eyes are sensitive to bright lights. I can talk a little but I have been told it sounds terrible….” He signs. Pausing between each one and looking at Desert to make sure she understood before continuing. Snow could definitely sense that there was attraction between the two, though he was hesitant to question if her feelings delved deeper than physical attraction. She seemed genuinely interest and curious about him, that gave him a spark of confidence. Tightening his grip on her tail, before they settle near the River bank. His blue eyes flickering over the water before the touch of her paw on his drew his attention to her.
Eyes widening in utter surprise when she signs that she would love to give them a try. To date and see where their relationship will take them. For a split second he believed that perhaps she had signed incorrectly—that was until she continued. It was a relief to know that she was not only interested in him physically but she wanted to create a stronger connection and bond mentally and emotionally. His face relaxing as he gives her a soft tender look, knowing that she was more than likely second guessing herself. “I would absolutely love to give us a try” he quickly interpreted before she could take it all back. Closing his eyes and leaning into her touch as one paw rests upon his chest, above his heart, while her other paw gently and intimately cups his cheek.
It warmed Snowbound’s heart that she wanted to prove just how good she could be in promise of their new relationship. Grinning broadly, purring as he nuzzled her once more. “I am pretty sure I am suppose to say that. I’ll be the best tom I can be to you and your little ones” Snow promises. “I would love to learn about all your likes, dislikes, hobbies, and tells. I look forward to growing together.”
Desertriver
Riverclan Queen
Scrunching her nose playfully at him, a chuckle escaped her before signing “My sisters are crazy, bless their mates for dealing with them.” Desertriver signed, thinking of her sisters Aurora and Mercy. Those two were often a pawful, both of them had very strong personalities and attitudes. Yet, she loved her sisters and would do anything for them. Letting out a soft hum, she hoped that her children would maintain a close relationship with each other. The golden-black female looked up at Snowbound, a blush escaping her when noticing that he had been looking at her for so long. Was the Riverclan warrior attracted to her? Stars, it’s been so long since she was romantically involved with another male. Noticing his blue gaze going towards her chest, noticing the big scar on it, Desertriver felt embarrassed for a moment and was about to open her mouth to excuse herself until the large tom reassured her. Her eyes widened slightly as he called it beautiful, along with calling her it as well.
It was the first time that someone called her scar beautiful.
A bashful smile appeared on her face when he tilted her head up to look into his eyes, and she moved to kiss his cheek gently as she accepted his proposal of a stroll. Desertriver chuckled when Snowbound moved to nuzzle her onto her feet, a loud purr escaping before moving to rub her cheek against his own. Desertriver has been craving this, proper company. The main question, did Snowbound want an actual relationship or wanted a temporary partnership? Desertriver knew she couldn’t handle another failed relationship, not after what happened with the father of her kits. Looking up at Snowbound, she nuzzled her face into his neck for a moment and stayed there for a moment. The golden-black molly knew that she would have to question him during the end of the stroll, but she hoped that Snowbound wanted something real and meaningful with her. Letting out a small sigh through her nostrils, she looked up at him with a gentle look in her eyes before moving close to him as the two of them began walking through the snowy forest.
“When I was younger, a badger had broken into our camp.. I was moving to cover one of the kits that were outside and..” Desertriver signed for a moment before biting the inside of her cheek for a moment, shaking her head slightly to get the memories out of her head. Clearing her throat for a moment, her green-amber gaze turned towards him and a small smile appeared on her face “For a long time, I had let this scar define myself.. That I wasn’t capable of protecting myself.. But now, I’ve accepted that it’s a part of myself.” Desertriver said, a determined look on her face. A lot has changed since she became a mother, Desertriver had others to look after now. The Maine Coon’s feathery tail moved until it rested at Snowbound’s hip and brought him close until there wasn’t space between them.
“I want to know about you, I had taken notice of the mysterious and broody figure hanging around Riverclan.. You’ve gotten me curious.” Desertriver signed, biting her lower lip playfully at him. Moving to intertwin their tails together, the molly had noticed th white tom from afar.. But she assumed that Snowbound didn’t want anything to do with her. It had shocked her that Snowbound had romantic intentions with her, and she was extremely excited. A bright smile appeared on her face when listening to his answer. It felt so right, being with him. The both of them stopped at the stream before looking at the beautiful glow that the ice provided within the sun. Turning towards the tom, both of them sat down for a moment before her paw rested on his own and looked down as her paw cupped his.
Looking up, Desertriver began to sign “If you’re interested, I would like to give us a try.” The golden-black molly said, noting the inside of her cheek for a moment before letting out a long sigh “I don’t want flings, I’ve realized that what I want is something serious.. I want love.” Desertriver signed, looking down for a moment as she couldn’t help but become nervous. Was Snowbound looking for the same thing? Or was the handsome tom looking for a one night stand? It wasn’t until she looked up at Snowbound and saw a soft expression. A sense of hopefulness escaped her, perhaps she was wrong. Her much smaller paws soon rested on his broad chest, before one went to caress his cheek and felt the tom leaning into her. “If you would let me, I’ll prove to you that I’m very capable of being a good female to you.. That I’ll be a very good mate and mother to your children when that time is right” Desertriver said, a shy look appearing on her face. Did Snowbound think about having kits? Desertriver knew she wanted more kits later on in life.
“However, you will need to ask the important question if you want any of this.. Stars, I poured my heart to you.. I hope I didn’t scare you off” Desertriver chuckled, wanting to be properly courted by him. Throwing the ball in Snowbound’s court, it was his turn to determine if he wanted a future with her.
Snowbound |The Unhearing of Riverclan|
Snowbound could not help but find it oddly refreshing to be having a small conversation with someone else besides his brother or small circle of friends. Though the two had a rocky start with communication, as Desertriver was not the most informed when it came to sign language but knew well enough to hold a simple conversation. Perhaps he had been so quick to judge her, as he often did when interacting with other felines that more than enough overlooked him or steered clear of him due to his disability. A small grin remains on his lips in pure amusement, for now he will not tell Desertriver what she had said, but maybe in the future if they still communicate after this chanced meeting. Tilting his chin slightly as he feels her curious gaze upon him as the large white tom glances around, his piercing blue eyes taking in the breathtaking scenery of the powdered snow clinging to the earth and trees.
Releasing a deep breath, watching as his warm breath mingles with the dry cold air, causing the air around his muzzle to mist over. The swirls of his breaths were almost hypnotizing to Snowbound before his attention returns back to the golden black Maine coon before him. Settling down in front of her, making sure her attention was fully on him as he introduces himself to the Molly. He could tell that she was really adamant on studying his movements to learn just what he was trying to convey to her, noticing her eyes shining in amusement when he kicked up small amount of snow. Inwardly humming in thought as he found Desertriver intriguing. His blue eyes flicker with her choppy movements as she introduces herself in a simple manner. So this was Desertriver., he had seen her many times within camp and had always admired her from afar, but that certainly did not do her justice. Nodding his large cranium in a silent greeting, Snowbound honestly did not know what else to say, as the deaf feline never socialized with many felines within Riverclan. He could not deny that he felt a pull towards Desert and did not want to ruin his chances of getting to know her.
Pursing his lips in thought as she questions about his day, it seemed that she wanted to continue the conversation even further. Shrugging lamely as he signs, “It is just another winter day, what about you?” It was only fitting that he return the question, the socially awkward tom did not want to appear standoffish to her, enjoying her full attention on him, it was a nice change. Ears flicking backwards as a small grin forms on his lips at her smiling as she recounted her kits fighting earlier that morning. It now jogged Snowbound’s memory of Desertriver as he had seen her and Sharkstride together while she was expecting kits. From what he observed recently the two lovers seemed to have gone separate ways, which was good news for him.
“That’s siblings for you. I am sure you bickered with your siblings quite often?” Snow signs with a slight tilt to his cranium, arching a brow as he silently questions her. He remembers fondly of the times him and his brother fought over pointless things, he surely missed those days. Snapping out of his thoughts as he suddenly sees an opportunity to spend more time with the beauty before him, feeling his cheeks flush as he notices he had been staring at her while trying to think of how to continue talking to her. Clearing his throat softly as a smile appears on his face, reassuring her that his staring was not to make her feel uncomfortable. Feeling her paw gently prodding his foreleg, causing Snowbound to glance up. His eyes locking with hers for a brief moment before focusing on her lips as she carefully over annunciating her words for him to better understand.
Frowning as she mentions an accident, he was almost compelled to ask more about what had happened to her that would cause her to be hesitant to travel around alone. Biting his lower lip, mentally scolding himself for almost appearing so insensitive. Giving her a warm, understanding look, rising his right forepaw to tilt her chin up, making her look up at him this time. Removing his paw with slight hesitation before signing, “You do not ever have to explain anything to me. I would love to accompany you” Snowbound nuzzles Desertriver to her paws, brushing against her flank lightly, not wanting to completely overstep his boundaries. “Your scar is beautiful like you. It tells a story. You just need to find the right one to listen” Snow adds with a grin.
Desertriver
Riverclan Queen
Good Stars, This tom was extremely sassy.
Desertriver watched with narrow eyes as he began signing, telling her to watch where she had been going.. At least that’s what she thought. For all that she knew, he was most likely cursing her out without her knowledge. The small Maine Coon’s flicked her tail back and forth patiently as she was awaiting his response to her apology, although it looked like the large white tom was amused.. Huh, maybe Snowbound found her extremely charming. At least some tom does. Desertriver observed him carefully, studying the white tom in front of her. The golden and black molly didn’t treat blind or deaf cat’s differently, knowing that they appreciated not getting any form of special treatment just because of their disabilities. It was a lesson she taught her children: Treat everyone equally.
It wasn’t until the large white tom padded towards Desertriver and sat down in front of her, the golden and black Maine Coon looked up at him for a moment before noticing that his tail was waving in careful movements and Snowbound began to sign again, carefully and slowly that she could understand. Nodding, she looked up at the tom with a small smile and even shook her head in amusement when he kicked up some snow to prove his point. Snowbound, it suited him. Thinking about her next actions, Desert was trying to figure out what to say.. The molly cursed inwardly as she really wished that she had paid more attention to that feline that resided in Vipers who taught Mercy, Aurora and Desert how to sign when they were kits.
Taking a deep breath, Desert began moving her paws “My name is Desert, it is nice to meet you” The golden black molly signed, her paw placed over her heart in order to show that she generally was pleased to meet him. She appreciated that Snowbound was going easy on her, making sure that his movements were simple and easy to understand. Watching the tom in front of her for a moment, Desert bit the inside of her cheek as she quickly began moving her paw as she knew that it wasn’t going to be a complete sentence but hopefully enough for him to understand “How was Day?” It was a question that she wanted to know, did he do anything interesting? Desert let out a chuckle followed by shaking her head in amusement before quickly signing “Children bickering in the morning” The golden and black molly said, remembering Paintedkit and Miragekit were fighting over a pebble that Edgefrost had brought this morning for all the kits to play with.
Nodding at his response, Desert thought for a moment. Perhaps Snowbound was wanting to become a suitor for her affections, she had a good amount of suitors attempting to court her. At the moment, Desertriver was swearing off males and more focused on her children.. It wasn’t like a male was attempting to court a newly single mother, would they be worried that she wasn’t a good mate because of her last relationship failing? It wasn’t like Desert was a bad mate, it was just that she didn’t feel a real connection in her last relationship. Noticing Snowbound was staring at her, she arched an eyebrow “Are you okay?” Desert signed, and she couldn’t figure out how to explain it before poking him in the foreleg which caused him to look up to read her lips and she gently spoke “I was in an accident when I was small, would feel much safer with someone with me while I stretch my legs” The golden and black molly said, having a hopeful expression that the tom wasn’t judging her horrible scar on her chest.
Snowbound
Sighing to himself as the large pure white tomcat wanders through the territory. He had no real destination in mind, just knew that he did not want to stay in camp all day. His crystal blue eyes flicker down to stare upon the powder white snow, his large paws sinking lightly with each heavy step. He could not hear the crunch of the frozen ice as he pads aimlessly around, but Snowbound could feel the faint vibrates of his movements. It seemed that he was the only creature about for miles as many were seeking shelter from the snow. To the warrior, he found leaf-bare to be peaceful, with not many felines or other animals about, he was free to do what he pleased. It calming to him to be around the endless hills and trees covered in powdered snow. His thick snowy white pelt helping him blend in easily with his surroundings, it was the only time he did not stick out more so like a sore thumb. Flicking his feathery white tail side to side as he inwardly hums to himself, at least he would assume he was as even he could not imagine what his inner dialogue would sound like.
Snowbound tilts his cranium upwards, enjoying the warmth of the sun’s morning rays against his face. It helped beat the chilling breeze in the air. His moment of blissful peace was short lived when he felt a solid body smack into him. A silent gasp of surprise escapes Snow as he shuffles back a few steps to refrain from falling down. His bright blue eyes widening as his attention immediately snaps toward Desertriver. He could not help but let a low growl escape his lips, eyes narrowing into slits with irritation as he observes her tail lashing with frustration. ‘How did she have the right to look mad at me? She hit into me” Snow thought with an audible sigh escaping him. His attentive gaze locks into her mouth as he carefully reads what she was saying, only further confirming that she placed blame on him. Huffing as he was not impressed with the golden black molly, shifting slightly as he flicks his ears and tail and gracefully moving his forepaws to sign, “You are the one that ran into me! Not the other way around!” He knew the likely hood of her knowing sign language was slim, but he could not help but express himself in one of the only ways he knew how.
The large white tom could sense the change in her attitude once she realizes who he was. Ah he forgot—he is mister popular around here. What? Not many knew of a deaf cat. Made him almost taboo amongst others, not that it bothered him in the slightest. Blinking as he notices Desert signing to him. Her movements choppy and hesitant, showing just how often she signed. He was slightly impressed that she even knew the concept of sign language. Biting his inner cheek in mild amusement at what she just told him, arching a singular brow as he gives her a chance to take back her bizarre statement. That was short lived when she tried again, only to say something completely out of sorts. Running his rough tongue over his fangs as he refrains from letting a snort escape him. She was definitely rusty unless what she just said was an confession. Scrunching up his face as he holds in a chuckle, not wanting to embarrass her any further. After all, she is the only one in a while that’s attempted to communicate with him on his level.
Once again studying her mouth as she carefully enunciates her words for him. Pursing his lips as he knew that there was no point in placing blame. Letting out a small sigh as he approaches Desertriver, flicking his tail in fluid motion as well as signing with his paws once more. This time he made sure to sign slowly and kept it simpler hoping it would be easier for her to understand him. “No need. Been told I blend in a little too well in the snow” Snowbound gestures to himself, a small smirk on his lips as he lightly kicks up some snow as if to prove his point. “The name is Snowbound” he adds, deciding he might as well properly introduce himself for once.
